A place to carry on chatting after a BFP and support each other through the stressful bits. I hope to see many new graduates appearing....

Yes Janie, I think say something. I would be fuming, but thinking of the friendship long term I would just say, actually not been dealing with things great, and it get really uncomfortable when people ask about babies, so to avoid that could she not tell anyone else about cot? That can't go down badly, but gets the point across.

Im not really one to give advice though, my sil did something similar recently and I have just ignored it! :)

Zeuxippe · 19/04/2013 08:50

Why don't you say that you're trying but things are taking a little while? She might realise it's not as easy for everyone else as it was for her, and stop being quite so insensitive then.

On the topic of hotness yes! A cup of (decaf) tea brings me out in a hot sweat...and I'm often shedding layers at the office (!) Better than the last pregnancy though when I was constantly shivering.

squiz you must be in your appointment now, hoping for the best possible outcome!!

JanieLovesCake · 19/04/2013 09:05

Thanks girls, I'm glad it's not just me that thinks she was in the wrong blabbing about it. I think I have to say something today, but ill try in in a nice sensitive way, I don't do confrontation so I hate anything like this. I've got book club tmro night and bet she's told some of the others as they've got kids at the same school too. Aaarrrggghhh!! Rant over, thanks again xxx

Lucky13ForBaby · 19/04/2013 09:28

Thinking of you today Squiz Thanks

I'm off to the Drs in a bit as need to get signed back on at work. Am dreading Monday and the stress the job brings. Really don't want to risk this pregnancy in anyway.

shellshock7 · 19/04/2013 11:08

Aaaggghh janie people are so annoying Angry

I was a massive sweat bag with DS and it carried on after he was born, until now Confused This PG I'm bloody freezing, my hands are feet especially are like ice blocks Hmm It's mad how different PGs are?!

Sounds tough lucky it will be hard first coupla days then you'll be back in the swing of it Smile

Stressing like mad, shouldn't of worn this top today and it's so obvious I'm PG, the girl I sit next to has asked me already Shock Just hoping my bosses don't ask, don't wanna deal with the fall out till after the scan Hmm

JanieLovesCake · 19/04/2013 11:20

Oh good to know I'm not the only sweaty Betty about! Fine during the day, just at night!

I texted cot friend, included some chat about other stuff and just added it in at the end. No reply ffs!

Lucky I hope going back isn't too yuk, I totally detest my job and the only thing getting me through is the thought that I might be off in 6 months or so. In between we've got a holiday and some nice weddings so I'm trying to focus on good things that are coming up. Having a right barney with owner at the minute as it appears that no tax or national insurance has been paid for me since 2008. Fucking criminal. If I can last 6months til maternity then ill think of moving on after (here's hoping I get that far and actually get paid stat maternity pay) hassle.com

JanieLovesCake · 19/04/2013 11:32

God I'm awfully moany today!!

Lucky13ForBaby · 19/04/2013 12:07

Feel free to moan away Janie :) I awfully constipated! Sorry tmi!

I've been signed off for 1 more week due to my job and history. Have to work up the courage for the week after! At least hopefully the placenta should be taking over around then. I'm seeing midwife for first time Wednesday. Am scared as have had to cancel previous appointments due to losses. Am abit Shock that not one medical professional out of the many I have seen has asked if I'm taking follic acid. I am but I bet not all people know! Shell how many weeks are you now?

Zeuxippe · 19/04/2013 13:01

squiz, is there any news? I hope you are ok x

Aoifebelle · 19/04/2013 13:04

Hardly dare post this, but had scan this am, and saw little bean with heart beating away. Never been so relieved in my life. Completely knackered now, has been a high octane week.

Aoifebelle · 19/04/2013 13:05

Squiz, been thinking about you especially. I was so convinced a few weeks ago we were on the same path, I really hope that could still hold true.

Lucky13ForBaby · 19/04/2013 13:17

IBelieveInPink · 19/04/2013 13:48

Aoife lovely that is fab news. So pleased :)

My jeans have started getting tight. Is it even possible that this is due to baby? I am only 9 and half weeks! It's my first..... Do I need to stop eating all the pies?!

DIYandEatCake · 19/04/2013 13:51

Congratulations aoife! That's wonderful. Must be such a big relief.
squiz how are you? Been thinking of you this morning.

squizita · 19/04/2013 13:52

Hi all

Sad news I'm afraid. Sad Sac is the same size, still floppy, still empty and they confirmed blighted ovum. I am having an ERPC on Tuesday, and they will test it for molar (they said a small risk, but the consultant had a feeling he ought to check given my history and the empty sac- although the scan doesn't look molar). They will also test for chromasomes but warned me often this is inconclusive.

It is incredibly sad but also a weight off my mind in a way, now I know where I stand and know I can book a clinic appointment (they advised checking at St Mary's and have written it in my notes).

They were reassuring about age (35-37 is the average age of my ladies going into labour said the consultant) but warned me that - although I should keep trying - even with tests 60-70% of the time they just don't know and though I will get TLC care if that's the case, I might just have to keep trying until I 'beat the odds'. Which I know anyway, but I need the test because if I DO have something that needs hormones or heparin... well then I will know.

DIYandEatCake · 19/04/2013 13:58

ibip 9.5 weeks sounds about right for tight jeans iirc... I was so excited to wear maternity clothes last time (I have a 2yo dd) - left it til after the 12w scan and will do this time too but already eyeing up new maternity gear, how sad am I.

JanieLovesCake · 19/04/2013 14:03

Ack squiz I'm so sorry Thanks. I'm sure it's been a horrid morning for you. The Erpc procedure is as good for preparing a nice clean bed for next time though and as others said before, it's totally safe. Hopefully it's not a molar as it can take some time to TTC again after that, I was diagnosed with a partial molar after the pathology reports from my Erpc in October and the care you get is amazing (I was monitored by charing cross as no centre in Ireland) but then after a few months of monitoring they told me they'd misdiagnosed me. There is lots of support if you need it though. But again, fx for a straightforward result from here on in.

Wishing you all the best (under the circumstances) and i really hope your luck changes soon xxxxx

IBelieveInPink · 19/04/2013 14:09

Squiz- so sorry but I am glad you have clarity now. Must have been awful hanging in limbo. You sound very strong, although I am sure the reality is a little different, I hope you can keep that strength and your next pg is a happy and healthy one. Glad they are taking good care of you already xx

DIYandEatCake · 19/04/2013 14:25

Ah squiz cross posted, I'm so so sorry you've got to go through this again :-(. Wishing you much better luck next time, hope you're being well looked after. There aren't words really are there, we can all imagine what you must be feeling though, it completely sucks.

squizita · 19/04/2013 14:28

Thanks Janie and Pink yes they warned me the main disadvantage of a molar was NO TTC ALLOWED for 6 months, but as far as actual health risks go, these would be minimal (like 1 in ever 1000 molars, which are themselves rare, end up as cancers).

I actually felt a little glimmer of hope when one Dr said "more than likely you've just had 3 sporadics for 3 different reasons and St Mary's will just say TLC and aspirin" ... I think they thought I would be wasting my money/time to private/wait and get tested... but NO if in my heart of hearts in 3 months time I have done what I needed to do and it turns out to be 3 sporadics, I will feel better and ready to TTC.

Well, bye for now. I will pop back to follow you all, and no doubt read of your happy endings. I really hope that before you November/December ladies have your babies, I'm back on this thread saying 'back again' and this time for the full 9 months...

shellshock7 · 19/04/2013 14:52

pink defo possible, I think I was bigger with the MMC and DS at this stage than I am this time.

Oh squiz I am so sorry, I hope you are being looked after and everything runs smoothly for you. Good luck with TTC again Thanks
