A place to carry on chatting after a BFP and support each other through the stressful bits. I hope to see many new graduates appearing....

Bump The GP and midwife were the first people I told! I'd tell them if I were you, so that you can get in the system! Booking in usually happens around 8 weeks, so you're almost there already.
With DS, I had to chase up my scan appt, in spite of having my booking appt at 8 weeks. The NHS can be so slow...

JBrd · 28/03/2013 10:04

Janie Not sure if this helps, but your spotting doesn't sound as if it's anything to worry about... But you probably are anyway! As long as it's brown, i.e. old blood, I think that's very common in early pregnancy. But of course we have a history... Try and take it easy, and maybe call the midwife, if you worry too much?

Lucky13ForBaby · 28/03/2013 11:13

Morning all. Thanks for the scan reassurance Bod :) Janie in 6 weeks today as well. I've been having lots of yellow discharge when wiping. Sorry tmi! Have you been in contact with the early pregnancy unit at all? I contacted them after a rubbish trip to see my gp and came out very upset. They offered me a reassurance scan .

shellshock7 · 28/03/2013 13:13

bump its with these guys www.lifethroughthelens4d.co.uk/ I told the GP on Monday, wanted to get passed my first milestone (the MC) before I bothered them really Sad Now just gotta get passed second one (MMC)

Jbrd congrats on the job Smile

Hi vocalista I had some strong symptoms (very sore boobs) with MMC, none with DS and have some with this PG so they are all different.

Congrats on your scan gary thats amazing news, you must be so happy Smile

almond glad all was good at your appt.

hi lolita sorry you are struggling, hopefully all is well and with Easter etc. the time to your scan should fly by.

janie snap with the sore throat / cough...everytime I cough now I get twinges in what I presume are my round ligaments....panic mode or what?! Sorry you are having spotting, I know you will worry like crazy...now you are passed 6 weeks the EPAU may see you?

So can I ask a question for those with MS, I never really had it with DS (just had to eat as soon as I woke up then was fine) but I feel really sick some days, its all or nothing really...either no sickess (panic mode again!) or feel sick all day. I haven't been sick yet and was wondering how this may progress. I am 7+2 by LMP and 6+5 by Ovulation date so wanted to ask when you all started being sick, does it get worse in a couple of weeks or could this be how it is going to stay?

I must be mad tho as I am quite happy about it, I even kinda want to be sick as I think it would make me feel more PG iyswim...I know you will say I say that now but it would change if it gets worse!

BumpKitty · 28/03/2013 15:07

Hmmm shell I'd be interested in that too, I have all day nausea which is like when you are so hungry you feel sick, but like you I haven't been aick yet. I threw up a couple of times when pg with DD but wouldn't have said I had MS, no sickness at all with the mc. I'm currently chain eating toast o keep it at bay :)

andadietcoke · 28/03/2013 15:53

shell and bump I had nausea from about 6/7 weeks on and off - not every day. Then from about 7.5 weeks I started throwing up two or three times a day, and that lasted until about 11 weeks. Now I'm sick about four times a week (sometimes morning, sometimes evening) at 16w. That's just me though - everyone seems to be completely different - girls on the September thread have varied wildly.

IBelieveInPink · 28/03/2013 16:08

Urgh! I'm here to have another moan! On top of everything else I have now come down with the cold that seems to be flying around everywhere! Just in time for bank holiday weekend! Wonderful!

Morning sickness- I seem to have nausea all throughout the day, getting worse where I haven't eaten enough, or when I have eaten too much. And of course, is worse in the evenings!
Didn't have any at all with either previous miscarriage, so this is encouraging in a way as it is so different. I know it doesn't mean things are going right, but fingers crossed!

BumpKitty · 28/03/2013 16:10

thanks for the info :)

jbrd i think booking in is at about 10 weeks in my area, I definitely do not want a booking in appt till I have seen a scan! I don't want a green folder of pg notes till I know there is a baby in there. Though as my scan is now going to be after 9 weeks you are right I should get in the system! I have called up (you call the Children's Centre here) and they have taken all my details and someone will be in touch. They gave me the number for the EPU too just in case I need it.

I have been sent a load of questions from the private early scan people, its a bit daunting.. relevant medical history, what are your symptoms, etc. I feel a bit weird about it all.

lucky I get the yellow discharge too, I read (maybe on here?) that it's the cervical plug forming so all good :)

shellshock7 · 28/03/2013 16:17

Thanks everyone Smile

I'm eating to try and stop it as that worked with DS but it doesn't make a difference....and weirdly I'm losing weight each week even tho I'm eating loads (lost 1/2lb again this week?) so all a bit strange?! Just gotta wait and see what happens I know Smile

And yes yes to the mega amounts of yellow discharge, don't remember this from previous PGs either?

IBelieveInPink · 28/03/2013 16:32

Omg! I thought the yellow discharge was from the pregnacare pills I taking as they turn my pee more yellow anyway, but I guess that's another symptom! Wow :)

JanieLovesCake · 28/03/2013 17:04

I'm so pleased that I'm not the only alien with yellow wipage ha!!! Hopefully that's what this is then!! Honestly I woujdve checked myself into a&e if it wasn't for you guys

bunchofposy · 28/03/2013 20:13

Gary so glad the scan went well! And that you didn't buy too many dresses beforehand! Lovely to have a little boy. Did you say you have another boy too? I think I might be on the same team, from the very willy like thing I spotted!

Almond glad the appt went well! What a relief. I've got an underlying virus too I think. Sore throat for months now. I think our immune systems are really crappy now we've little parasite zapping all the good stuff!

Hope everyone else is OK. xx

JanieLovesCake · 28/03/2013 21:23

Oh girls I twisted round on the sofa to say hi to DH and I had a mega tweak. Now it's a bit throbby...panicking I've dislodged the bean...is that possible? Oh god when will the panicking stop :(

BumpKitty · 28/03/2013 21:31

janie I bet it's one of your ligaments stretching too quickly - nothing to worry about but not very pleasant :)

shellshock7 · 28/03/2013 22:33

janie snap (no pun intended!) having lots of sharp pains making me worry like mad...after a day of posifrickintivity cos of MS Confused such a roller coaster

MissLolita · 28/03/2013 23:04

Hi everyone, thanks for the lovely welcome and great to have a scan buddy BumpKitty!
I have a dd who is 20 months old and my pregnancy with her was blissfully dull. I bounced through the whole thing with no symptoms at all (I imagine I was actually quite irritating to other pg ladies at the time!). I've had no symptoms with any pg so I'm almost wishing I had some this time - it would be 'evidence' Wink
Hopefully the time will fly between now and 9th. I did look to see if I could get a private scan last night but nowhere remotely local has any appointments free until 8th so it would be a bit pointless - I hadn't realised private scans were so popular...!

JanieLovesCake · 29/03/2013 10:01

Thanks for the tweak reassurance girls! Had a giggle at 'snap'!!!

The posifrickintivity is in the house. Today I feel pregnant. No particular reason, just do, and long may it last :)

Got 8 in laws all coming tonight for dinner, better get on with deciding what to make!!

shellshock7 · 29/03/2013 12:52

Can I have a gentle fish slap please...my PIL have not been very nice to me since DS arrived and I get upset every time I see them so DH and I agreed I wouldn't see them till after the 12 weeks scan so I wouldn't have the stress...they don't understand at all and keep trying to upset me anyway, even tho it's for the health of their GC. So he has took DS to see them today and I'm sat here feeling blue imaging all sorts of bad things cos of the twinges, it's so stupid but I'm convinced its all going wrong Hmm Help!

Sorry abt the me me me, hope you are all ok Smile

IBelieveInPink · 29/03/2013 13:13

Oh shell. Sorry you are feeling sad, no fish slap for you, just a hug.
That's horrid, why are they being nasty? No need, especially like you say, for the good of their gc and your dp?!

I am also twinging today. No nausea, but possibly just because I am feeling so ming with my stinking cold!
Remember, twinging is good, means something growing in there! :)

shellshock7 · 29/03/2013 13:29

Their other DIL just goes along with everything they want (and then slags then off to all and sundryAngry) but me and DH put our family first and do what's best for DS and they blame me for this (not their precious son!) and are quite mean to me really, slag off my parenting choices etc. so it's stressful times when we are together....feel so sad for DS that they can't just see we make different choices but just accept it and be nice?

And I'm talking abt daft things like we asked them to keep him in the shade when he was a new born, not outrageous requests!!

So your seeing the twinges as positive, keep that up!! I know that too just having a bad day Smile Hope your cold goes soon, mine was only bad a coupla days this time

JanieLovesCake · 29/03/2013 14:47

oh shell that's horrible. you poor thing, i'm not surprised you stayed at home :(

nothing new with me...still got some brown wipeage, trying not to panic. wish i could have some morning sickness (and yes i mean it....i'm sure you understand!). just mega sleepy at the minute, mainly during the day, then when i get to bed i'm wide awake. oh and i'm still an irrational cow...screaming at dh for not cleaning the bathroom for the inlaws coming tonight...yes they aren;t coming til 7pm but it needs done NOW!!!!

BumpKitty · 29/03/2013 20:21

Oh shell I hope you managed to enjoy some of your day. At least your DH is supporting you in not seeing them but he may need to step up a bit more when they are nasty to you and explain that you both agree about your choices for DS and they can sod off :) maybe not the last bit!

Now on to me... I'm feeling SHITE, I cannot believe someone can feel like this and everything still be ok :( the low level nausea is now like full on motion sickness and nothing is helping. Lying very still works but I don't get much chance to do that. I've also had a couple of real cramping pains which has scared me a lot. Also I used to get twinges when I sneezed or coughed and these have stopped now, I'm not sure if I've just stretched everything already or if it's bad... And I feel like now I have paid my deposit for my scan I am bound to mc before it. All in all a big misery fest. I don't even feel like chocolate [bushock]

JanieLovesCake · 30/03/2013 12:01

oh bump i'm sending you a big hug. i can mirror everything you are saying...except i don't have proper ms yet, i get little waves of wooziness, mainly when i'm standing in the shower, but not enough to keep me happy (how odd does that sound?!). have you tried the little wristbands to see if they help? i used them in my last pg and they worked really well for the few days that i got ms. although that pg didn't work out so not sure how the work longterm, but they really do work for motion sickness too (for me anyways).

i'm trying to gather ideas of what i like to have when i had a really mega hungover as it's kind of similar to ms.... chopped up melon, salty crisps, flamin hot monster munch, satsumas, fat coke. i got a 5 pack of salty kettle chips in poundland so i'm keeping them handy for when it starts.

i woke up this morning really wanting the egg part of a cadburys easter egg. i wasn't actually going to have it for breakfast, just fancied the idea. i stupidly mentioned this to DH who then proceeded to tell me that i need to be careful with my eating as i've stopped going to my spin classes, i don't want to be letting myself go just because i'm pregnant. Angry cue the tears. i felt like tearing his head off. i have always struggled with my weight and defo don't want to 'let myslef go' but sometimes a girl's gotta eat what a girl's gotta eat. ut me in a bad mood for the day grrrrrrr

andadietcoke · 30/03/2013 12:26

bump you have my sympathies. The bands Janie suggests are supposed to be very good. You could also try a vitamin b complex.

janie 'D'H called me fatty mchatty yesterday. Charming. We've booked emergency exit seats for the flight tomorrow and have just found out you can't sit in them if you have to use an extension seatbelt so hopefully I'm not that big! I find it a bit funny at the moment. I'm 16w and I can't see my feet. The bump's all in front - thankfully so far I haven't put weight on on my bum and hips (they really couldn't stand any more weight on them!!)

BettyFlutterbly · 30/03/2013 20:00

Hi all. Welcome and congrats to the bfps. I was a nervous wreck the first trimester and was wishing for symptoms. I was so bad with ms with dd and had hardly anything this time round but have made it to 20w. I have my scan on Weds and am starting to get nervous again!

Glad scans went well this week, Gary I'm sure I'm havig a boy this time but am really hoping for another girl!
Almond I hope you get rid of the virus and feel a bit better soon.

I have heartburn and am hungry all the time! It's driving me mad!! Now I'm happy not to have symptoms and just to feel the baby kicking. I feel like moaning but better not as dh just reminds me how much I wanted to get pg.

I'm going to help dd eat her chocolate eggs tomorrow yay!
