A place to carry on chatting after a BFP and support each other through the stressful bits. I hope to see many new graduates appearing....

This morning I was 'no cramps'. Now I am 'cramps'. I have literally given up, am just keeping myself as busy as possible and waiting to see what happens. And living through the excitement of everyone else's scans! Let us know how you got on ladies :)

andadietcoke · 26/03/2013 14:25

shell STOP TESTING. I think I might have mentioned this before but I used my last frer at 8w when I'd had bleeding and pain and it was much much lighter. Properly freaked me out, but saw two heartbeats 90 mins later. No good can come of it. You're pregnant. Promise.

Scan done. Two little babies, both about the right size for 16w (and even more the right size for the dates I think I am - 15+4). Both femurs, heads and ventricles are right, and we saw the stomachs, bladders and the blood flow in the hearts. BP still normal and urine okay (despite being 90% sure I had some kind of infection). So all good here (so far). Next scan in 4 weeks, so will start the countdown again!

Oh, and I'm also in Team Cramps. Except I've come to love them, because it means the babies are growing Grin

andadietcoke · 26/03/2013 14:26

Oh and good luck posy Smile

IBelieveInPink · 26/03/2013 14:34

Oh dietcoke That's so exciting! Yay! I literally just welled up at my desk! You must be so pleased, you sound much happier! Congrats. Is it starting to feel real now? :)

bunchofposy · 26/03/2013 15:18

Yay, so lovely dietcoke. Am so pleased everything looked fine. Are you scanned more often when you have twins then?

My scan also went well. Mind you, I don't know how you kept up with everything on a twin scan. I was exhausted just looking at one - how they work out what everything is so quickly is beyond me!

We stayed team yellow, but I could have sworn I saw a tiny willy!

bunchofposy · 26/03/2013 15:20

ps am so in awe that you have two in there by the way!! Amazing.
xx

GardenWorm · 26/03/2013 15:28

Big YEY to the scans - made me smile Smile. I have a cold too now. Pah! No cramps here, no anything really. Looked at possible viability scan dates around work and shifts etc can either do 8wks or 9wks but 8 wks is other half's bday and that would be a shit day to get shit news wouldn't it?! 9 wks seems so far awaaaaaaay!

JBrd · 26/03/2013 15:42

How lovely, andadiet! That is great news, you must be so relieved! Will you get scanned every 4 weeks throughout the whole pregnancy?

shell stop testing! I did (because I ran out of tests Grin ), and it's fine, I promise. We are pregnant.

I can't make up my mind about a viability scan. It'd be great to have the reassurance, but it's not a guarantee that everything will be OK... And if, heaven forbid, they don't find a heartbeat, I will have to wait until 11-12 weeks before the EPU will agree to do any procedures, it was like that last time. Not sure I can take that again, it was torture. Decisions, decisions. I might leave that one to DH...

Sooo, I have a follow-up phone interview in 20min, with the director of the company I interviewed at last week. That's a good sign, right?!?

GardenWorm · 26/03/2013 15:47

Ooh yeah Jbrd throw in the odd 'posifrickintive' bound to get the job!

Contemplating eating a bag of mini eggs daily to give myself morning sickness! Nuts!!!!

JanieLovesCake · 26/03/2013 17:09

Yay fir the good scans!!! And how the hell do they know what all the fuzzy blobs are! It baffles me!!

How did the phone interview go jbrd? Fx for you!! I've hot my interview at 2pm tomorrow but I don't even have the energy to think about it!!

andadietcoke · 26/03/2013 17:10

Yay posy glad it was okay. Know what you mean. I was in there nearly am hour as I had a trainee sonographer. DH nearly dozed off at one point!!

Yes, we have scans every 4 weeks. Normal anomaly scan at 20w and then serial growth scans every 4 weeks and consultant ANC appts. Invested in a hospital car park permit today Wink

I guess it's good that I have so many scans but I get so worked up before them!!

BoyMeetsWorld · 26/03/2013 17:25

Aww how lovely about the scans

Anda - are you scared about twins? Were you expecting that as a possibility? Double loveliness Smile (& double worry in pg!)

Jbd - are viability scans done on nhs or private only? I'm also debating whether id rather sit tight and just not know until 12wks at which point either something can be done straight away or all will be a teeny bit 'safer'. So tricky!!

andadietcoke · 26/03/2013 17:53

Boy I had an early scan at the EPU and then a private one at 10.5 because my dating scan wasn't until 13w. Both calmed me down for about 24 hours before I started worrying again, and I was obsessed with miscarriage statistics after seeing heartbeats at 'x' weeks. Saying that, don't think I could have gone until 13w without them.

Wasn't expecting twins at all. Have since found out they're in my dad's family but my granddad doesn't speak to any of his family so we've never had anything to do with them so didn't know! Was completely floored at the scan at 7.5 weeks. And I was on my own so had to break the news to DH!

BumpKitty · 26/03/2013 18:39

Brilliant news from the scans :) I've been checking in all day to make sure you're all ok!
Now what is this about them not doing anything till 12 weeks if something has gone wrong? I only found out at 12 weeks last time but i assumed if I'd have found out earlier I could have had an erpc earlier, is that not the case?

IBelieveInPink · 26/03/2013 18:43

Bump - it is the case as far as I am aware! I found out about my mc at 8 weeks and had an erpc at 9 weeks when they had 'confirmed' I hadn't got my dates wrong.

Now. Only 2 weeks 2 days and 14 hours til my scan :)

Bodicea · 26/03/2013 18:46

Hi diet and posy congratulations on the successful scans.

I had my scan too today and got a lovely heartbeat, hurrah! 6 weeks today. Date from scan is 19th November. Hopefully they will use my lmp date officially which is 16th - although I suspect scan date more accurate.
Feeling much more relaxed especially as I got a bit of spotig this morning which sent me in a tiz!

Hops interview went ok today jbird

On another note a seem to be burping a lot at the moment! How lovely

JanieLovesCake · 26/03/2013 18:52

Yay bod!!!! If my dates are right I will be 6wks on Thursday eek! Thinking of booking a private scan too, only one place does it here though and it's £100 gulp. Omg my burps are quite spectacular at the minute, thank god I'm not alone! Always feel much better after it!! How are you feeling? Any other symptoms at the mo? X

Bodicea · 26/03/2013 19:01

Lol, janie glad it's not just me. Just getting waves of nausea and a bit of reflux at the mo. not actually been sick though. I seem to mostly get it when in a car.

I think it's a personal choice about the scan. I feel better for seeing it as does dh. Feels more real to him now x

IBelieveInPink · 26/03/2013 19:18

Oh bod how lovely! Yay for exciting scans! Little jealous I have to wait so long for mine!
Janie it is a lot, but I viewed it as I'm not going out at the moment as much, so am saving money which can therefore be spend on scan. I definitely couldn't wait until 12 weeks!

andadietcoke · 26/03/2013 19:39

Yay Bod that's brilliant. Enjoy feeling a bit better about everything Smile

Oh, the burps, don't miss them at all!!

BumpKitty · 26/03/2013 19:42

oh good ibip one of the main reasons I want a scan is because I don't want to get all the way to 12 weeks again and realise things went wrong ages before.
How many weeks will you be for your scan? I'm unsure about when to book mine, from lmp I'm 8 weeks on Easter day but I think I ovulated either 2 or 4 days late so may go for latest date and book scan around then
bod that's fantastic Grin

GaryBuseysTeeth · 26/03/2013 19:54

Hurrah for your scan results Bod, Posy & anda! Grin

at Boy, I can't remember if you were on the same TTC thread as me before I nc, but I remember you (t'was horse before this name)!
So glad you've graduated again so quickly!

JBrd, interview sounds very positive! Fingers crossed for you.

Jaine, good luck for your interview!

20wk scan tomorrow, will hopefully find out everything is fine & then we can announce it to the world (have only told PIL, my mum & a few friends so far).
We're hoping to 'celebrate' by buying a nice outfit for it (I'm 100% it's a girl, so I've been looking at dresses) after the scan, but now all I can think about is the million & one things that can be bought up at the 20wk scan.

If any of you are One Born Every Minute viewers, tomorrow's episode is going to be a very sad one, so just a heads up.

IBelieveInPink · 26/03/2013 20:03

Bump - I will be 8+5. I would rather have had it slightly earlier if I honest, but with stuff we have on around then that was the easiest date to get off work. When are you thinking of booking, next week?

Gary - how exciting for scan! Have you managed to keep it quiet up until now then? Well done!
Ooh. I am an avid one born viewer. May have to give that one a miss.

AlmondFrangipani · 26/03/2013 20:24

Evening Girls!

Posy I am due 7 August but I am having the baby very early due to a kidney condition I have. They have told me to expect a c-section at 32/34 weeks...eeek! So I will probably have it is June or July if I am lucky. I went it to panic mode 2 weeks ago and bought everything you could possibly need for a newborn! Our credit card is smoking now and I have developed a baby grow buying obsession!! We are team yellow too although I thought I might of seen something at our 19 week scan!

Gary good luck tomorrow at your scan! Cant wait to find out what you are having!!

Anda phew on your good scan result too!

I have an unexpected consultant appointment tomorrow afternoon as I had some dodgy blood results. As I am already seen under a kidney specialist I have this special website access where I can login and see my results. I have since diagnosed myself with liver failure (one of the liver function results was 150 when 'hi' is 50) so completely freaked out and called the antenatal clinic. So they are seeing me tomorrow. Really hope it was just a blip and trying not to worry...

shellshock7 · 26/03/2013 20:44

Ok people I hear you, no more tests Grin Am 7 weeks tomorrow so they may go backwards from then and I don't need that stress!

Great scan news everyone, it is so good to read really pleased for you all Smile

Good luck Jbrd and janie with the job interviews Smile

anda I'm with you on the stress of scans, I hate them get so worked up for a coupla days beforehand....the MMC has made sure of that Hmm

gary look forward to hearing abt your scan tomorrow Smile

almond hope it is nothing to worry about, try not to worry too much tonight.

I'm on the fence still abt an early scan too, I want to know but it's still not a 100% guarantee and I get so worked up...but found a place only down the road that does them for £55? Tempting Confused
