Erm....I think I might be pregnant!

My boobs have been really sore for about a week, so bad I've bought a three pack of those ugly bras, I've always had tenderness before a period, but only for a day or so, I've also noticed a strange taste in my mouth, not enough to think much about it, until now, I've just read an early sign is a metallic taste, and that's the taste, couldn't put my finger on it before.

Slight twinges like mild period pains and wind.

I still don't want to believe it, I'm 39, this will be my first if I really am, but reading that about the metallic taste kinda made a light come on.

Early pregnancy symptoms REALLY feel like a period coming.....That's rather confusing.

I don't have anyone to tell, my husband is sleeping.

I also asked DH to get a test this morning, came home from nightshift without one and is off to bed. I too have symptoms, sore boobs, nausea etc but have mirena coil.

Will just need to get dds dressed and take them and get one for tomorrow!

So for now I'm living through you op!

Bet he comes back with the papers, some deals the supermarket was doing, something nice he fancied for dinner!

Cheapy tesco and first response both negative. What the hell are the symptoms about then? I thought I was just from the boobs and weird fellings but then the metalic taste thing.

I'm definately not imagining any of those things

OP false negatives happen. I knew I was and tested negative even after Id missed my period ... 2 weeks later I tried again and it was positive. Sometimes just takes a while for hormone levels to pick up. Keep eye on the symptoms.

Dr said I had a tummy bug. Nine months later I had dd.

I am holding off testing at the moment for the fear of getting a negative then the waiting and testing a million times I am four days late and really don't want to get my hopes up! the urge to poas is rediculous though

I had negative POAS but if it hasn't happened in all these yrs then I'm guessing the symptoms are more PMT based than pregnancy.
But if there's no sign of AF in a Fe days then def do another

Pregnancy tests measure the level of a certain hormone in your wee. You might not be pregnant, but you might be and it's just too early.

False negatives are very common. I had a negative when I felt pregnant. A week later I got a positive.

Just got to wait and see if AF comes or do more tests. Sorry I know it sucks!

Do you mind if I ask, have you ever sought fertility advice from via your GP? (It seems obvious you'd be happy to be pregnant!)

Never persued it no, thought it might happen. I've just never let my guard down and had accepted by now that it probably wouldn't.

Feel like a total fool now. My mouth still tastes like metal and did before i knew that was a symptom of pregnancy, can't all be in my head if I didn't know. Can it?

Sorry you didn't get the result you wanted.

Do test again in a few days/week. With DS1 I tested positive straight away but with DS2 I got negative tests for quite a while after my AF was due.

OP I was in a similar situation to you. Gave up hoping as I got older, finally accepted there would be no baby when I hit 40. Then I felt rough for weeks, seriously bad virus (). Put off testing until MN insisted for the collective sanity. Still can't quite believe it was positive (I was 11 weeks pregnant by that point) despite having a scan and now feeling movement. I'm going to be like 'where did that come from?' when I finally deliver.

Don't give up hope, OP, and certainly don't feel foolish - if you are pregnant (and you have EXACTLY the same symptoms as I did) then by all accounts it's very early days, and your hormone levels may not be sufficient to register yet. Test again in a few mire days.

I had at least half a dozen negative tests but I KNEW I was pregnant. Was a week late before I got a positive. It was the most disheartening week but DS2 is now 8 weeks old & gorgeous!

Like I said I had two negatives and I was pg, it was just too early. Try again in a week if your period has not come. Stay off the fags and booze just incase
