2 day over now and irregular period cramps and back ache are leading to NOWT!

And if one more persons tries to give me some 'helpful' advice I shall tell them
"Yes, I have been having sex whilst eating curried pineapple"
Fuck off!!!!

Is it wrong to walk to pils house and give them a slap? I put a post on fb last night about going to Nandos to eat extra hot chicken (yeuch and it didn't work!) and they have replied with how long I've been pregnant, how excited they are, and how they need to meet their grandchild NOW. Like I'm bloody doing it on purpose! I feel like replying with "actually, I've been in labour for a week, I'm just fecking clenching!"
But of course I won't. I'll sit here and seeth until 11.00 when I get my "are you in labour yet" daily call which comes in between DHs 2 "how's doodle kitty" calls which happen at 8am and pm.
Gah

Sastra · 01/11/2012 11:15

Not a mumsnet jury in the land would convict you, Doodlekitty.

"I'm just clenching" Grin

Purplecatti · 01/11/2012 11:23

I think I should stand trial for crimes against in laws too doodlekitty.
I too am cruelly withholding my in laws grand child from them. Obviously I am doing it on purpose. If I get one more breathless 'hurry up we can't wait we're just SO excited' phone call I will not be held responsible for my actions.

AbbyRue · 01/11/2012 12:15

Hi ladies

I'm still pregnant too, 41 weeks exactly today and waiting on MW who was supposed to be here 45mins ago to do a sweep Sad

I'm fed up. I hate doing the school run as everyone is going on about "you still pregnant then?"

Was late with both DCs anyway but this pregnancy has been so different from the other I was convinced I would bev early.

I'm actually crying now. I'm fed up SadSad

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 01/11/2012 17:57

There is hope! Baby decided to arrive all by herself this morning at 41+5. I'd resigned myself to an induction tomorrow so she arrived just in the nick of time. She is rather cuddly and snuffly :) I can recommend M&S chicken tikka masala if you fancy trying yet another useless cure for going overdue.

Doodlekitty · 01/11/2012 18:00

Huge congrats peasant! Pleased you managed to avoid induction, enjoy your bundle

Sastra · 01/11/2012 18:30

Congrats superior!

Is it just me or are all these naughty babies girls??

AbbyRue · 01/11/2012 18:40

Congrats Smile

MW finally turned up at 4.35pm instead of the scheduled 11.30amHmmConfused

Did the sweep and period pain cramps came straight after!! I'm 3cm dilated, 50% effaced so maybe labour imminent?

Booked induction for 10/11 "just in case" but she reckons I'll be holding DS in less than 24 hours

I've never wished for pain like this!!

RunningKatie · 01/11/2012 20:25

Oh Doodlekitty that did make me laugh. Of course clenching is the way forward to upset PILs.
My FIL is everso everso keen that this DC is a boy. I couldn't give a flying fig either way but am beginning to feel rather pressured.

Huge congrats peasant - hope you are having lots of lovely cuddles.

I feel your pain with the MW AbbyRue, but massively impressed you even get an appt. time, mine is either morning or afternoon. Sweep sounds like it may well have done the trick too. Fingers crossed.

MW came round this pm to do a sweep, she couldn't because my pesky cervix wouldn't actually stay still for her to do it. Hmm She thinks I'm probably strutting about 2cm dilated anyway, and although I'm now booked in for an induction next Thurs, she's confident that I'll pop before then. There is also the option of another sweep attempt next Mon if my slippery cervix (her words not mine) will behave.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 01/11/2012 21:04

Thanks all. She is currently snoozing away in her fish tank, long may that last! I didn't manage the water birth I'd hoped for but I'm happy with the way everything went and I didn't get I induced!

Good luck AbbyRue, hope things progress quickly and manageably for you.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 01/11/2012 21:05

Lol at the slippery cervix.

seabuckthorn · 01/11/2012 21:38

Can I clock in? I'm fed up now & actually fit to burst!
Can someone assure me that having raging PMT type symptoms is obviously a labour sign?
I'm very irrational and grumpy today. Can you actually believe that my MIL has plans for the weekend, I could give birth any day now & she has plans! I have plans to give birth & need her to look after the DC. The cheek! Wink
I'm ready to burn the birthing ball and that clary sage!

seabuckthorn · 01/11/2012 21:41

Good luck Abby!
I did lol at the slippery cervix! Hope it behaves if you need another. :)

AbbyRue · 01/11/2012 23:04

Loads of period pain cramps and backache here...lets see how long it lasts Grin

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 02/11/2012 08:43

Clary sage smells disgusting and cost me nearly £10 for a tiny bottle. PM me if anyone wants the rest of the bottle for free - it's one thing I won't miss!

Doodlekitty · 02/11/2012 12:58

Back from midwife. Cervix is closed. Could cry. Booked for induction on wed.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 02/11/2012 13:06

Nooo! Evening primrose oil?

RunningKatie · 02/11/2012 19:39

Oh Doodlekitty, Wednesday is ages away. Don't panic just yet. How many days over will you be by then? Will they try another sweep before then? I had 3 with DD but all were unfavourable. The nice midwife I had yesterday said 92% of women deliver before induction. I just hope she's right.

How's it going Abby?

I had a good cry on DH this evening, I had so many flipping texts from my lovely friends asking how I'm doing that, it just tipped me over the edge. Poor DD wanted to play with Mummy today too and I just wasn't much use.

We've just had a chinese takeaway, I can't decide whether I've eaten too much or if I've got back ache and cramps. Poor DH gently asked whether I thought I was starting and I snarled at him to send me a text. Blush

AbbyRue · 02/11/2012 20:05

Hi Katie,

Still no baby Sad despite the contractions, the cramping and the show. 8 days overdue sigh

I think I'm just going to try and be patient and wait it out. Induction booked for 10/11 but will go in on Tuesday for monitoring.

Good luck to all Smile

MoonHare · 02/11/2012 21:33

Hi all

Well my rant on Wed eve must have got things moving as baby girl Moon arrived safely at home as planned at 5.16 on Thurs 1st Nov after a quick 4 hour labour. She's gorgeous and doing well. Sooooooo relieved she's finally here and that all is well with no need to end up at hospital.

Very best wishes to everyone - hope those babies come soon !!!

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 03/11/2012 08:27

Congratulations! Our DDs are birthday buddies :) I'm glad all is well.

Doodlekitty · 03/11/2012 09:22

Congrats moon hare! It must be great to finally hold her.

My induction will be at +12. I need to go in day before for pessary and be in overnight. Couldn't do a sweep as cervix is totally closed, midwife didn't mention trying it again. I declare my midwife hopeless (not just because of this, many crappy things). Still hoping something might get him moving naturally.

AbbyRue · 03/11/2012 17:03

Baby Nathan arrived at 8.11am this morning after a quick 3hr start to finish labour! Smile

He's big at 4.2kg!! But absolutely worth the 9 days overdue time

Best wishes to everyone

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 03/11/2012 19:32

Wow, that was fast! Congratulations! Love the name :)

Best of luck to everyone still waiting and fingers crossed that there won't be any inductions.

Doodlekitty · 03/11/2012 21:50

It's all gone very quiet. Is everyone apart from me out having their babies?
