Hey nemo- what date r ru due? im 15wks and my scan is also at the end of august!!!! spooky!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend in the sun!

Cadmum · 15/07/2006 19:51

Hello all from sunny Wien!

Hope you are well. I am currently using the hotel internet and there is someone breathing down my neck for a go. I should try to be brief and post again in the morning.

We really enjoyed our week long camping experience but now the pressure is on to find a house. DS1 is not coping very well with the house hunting and is convinced that he will be miserable wherever we choose to live. There have been many tears this week from all of us but I am sure that things will feel less awful once we are settled and have started to fit in here. DH works fairly regular hours so the days without him are not as long as they were in NYC and certaily not as hellish as the months without him. DD2 continues to thrive and even the people here comment on how happy and full of life she is. (Thank heavens as there are few excuses for people to chat with us otherwise!)

I will try to read the thread tomorrow once I can have some privacy.

Catch up soon.

Caddy and Co.

Piffle · 15/07/2006 20:02

Thx for the welcome, so many familiar faces!!!!!!! Cannot belive how far along some of you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dp has already said we a re not to find out teh sex I am so nosy I hate not knowing I must say I knew with ds and dd, but got it on scan to be sure...
I might thwart him yet though...
I feel ok, very tired, get aftrnoon dip abuot 2pm, thankfully dd also sleeps them so yeehah we both went to bed!
AF would be due tomorrow - no signs of it, no complexion breakouts which I always get and no PMT, infact SO much of a weight this is off my shoulders I am like a new person, DP said "why are you being so nice to me" I felt so guilty as ttc for so long has turned me into a grumpy lady I think....

Frizbe · 15/07/2006 22:16

Glad to hear your having a good day Piffle

Caddy so glad to hear your doing ok, like you say ds will feel more settled once you get a place sorted, fingers x'd that happens soon, is it hard house hunting in Austria/harder than manhattan?

Nemo, 14 weeks already where's the time going!

Debsey, enjoy Devon, we're heading down that way in a few weeks, congrats on Rep of the year as well

Hi to all else, we're in for a sleepless night, unless next door get back quickly, damn house alarm going off, we've checked from the outside and doesn't appear burgled.......

Cadmum · 16/07/2006 17:45

Friz, I do find that it is more challenging here mostly because neither DH or I are familiar with the city and we don't speak the language either!

I am sure that it will sort itself out.

munz · 17/07/2006 08:09

morning everyone.

will catch up properly later on but jsut gotta say 3 things,

  1. nemo - that's just not fair! lol. you'll be making me all broody again!
    • hiya hon hope the move went ok, don't forget to email me your new address for your PG tips! lol)
  2. piffle - well done hon, hoping for lots of sticky dust for you.

not too muich going on here 2 really bad nights with the boy, surely he should be doing better now he's nearly 5 months old?? anyhow had a scare with my mate last week, poor thing her stupid m/w scared her cos she's measuring small for the dates - one m/w said ther's something wrong with ur baby went quite (friend is v highly strung and has expected something to go wrong but anyways) she's measuring 2cm small - I said it's prop the way the baby's laying, and measuring can be so inexact, any how took her up to the hospital as all the boy's were at a funeral last wek for one of the lads who died in afgan, heart trace is fine, and another m/w said she was only 1cm small, (with joey I was always 1cm big) first m/w really scared her stupid cow if u ask me - I mean swhat sort of a m/w finds the heart fine measures her at 2cm small then automatically says that's not right ther's something wrong wiht ur baby on her behalf. still managed to calm her down and they have a growth scan today, I have a feeling it's the way the baby was laying, and he's actually going to be a big boy, anyhow will find out around 12 so time's gonna drag till then! lol.

best jump ion the shower b4 joey wakes up, will catch up fully later on.

Bella23 · 17/07/2006 09:57

Morning ladies

YE HA - Welcome back Caddy! Glad you are almost settling in ok and good luck on the house hunting. Must be strange when you don't know the area etc....mind you exciting as well!

Piffle - welcome honey. As someone who also had a m/c first time around I spent the first 12 weeks in a kind of "high state of emergency" as was always imaginging it all going wrong. Best way to cope was just to try and see every day as a bonus and try and switch off the negative thoughts. Good luck xx

Well have my next scan on Friday @ 32 weeks to see if the placenta has moved. Actually have come to the conclusion that I'm not really bothered if it hasn't and I need a C section. Just so relieved to have come this far that it seems a small thing. Obviously am in ignorant bliss of what one is like so I am guessing that it helping!!

Munz - your poor friend, what a thing to say!! She could have just suggested a growth scan to check things out and told her not to get stressed out etc. Honestly talk about no tact!!

Milosmum and Nemo - wow 14 & 15 weeks, well done girlies on getting past the dreaded first 12 weeks xx

Well 4 more weeks of work - ye ha !! Its going to be 32 degrees today - TOO HOT for anyone never mind a pregnant woman so am working from home today and hibernating!!

Hope all are well today xx

munz · 21/07/2006 08:50

good luck for today bella.

my mate's fine baby's fine - lokoing to be a big boy! lol 90th centile apparently so my bet's a 9lber as always! lol.

just a quicky, as I need a shower/tidy up.

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/07/2006 12:33

OMG Bella - how did you get to be 32 weeks already?! Excellent choice of name for a girl - she will love being called that .

Pleased to hear that all is still going well for all the pregnant ladies, and congrats to you both Piffle and Milosmum for joining them!

Debbsey - so glad you decided to share the sex with us. Some lovely names in your list - I really liked Mackenzie too, but DH said no to all Scottish and Iriah names.

Munz - I think that some babies just aren't good sleepers, and we have 2 of them!
We have very recently discovered another of the causes of Pippa's sleep problems though - it seems that as well as being milk intolerant, she has silent reflux, so every time I was feeding her to sleep it was generating more acid which would come back up an hour or two later and wake her again. Poor thing. We now don't feed to sleep, but keep her upright for at least an hour after a feed, and she also uses infant gaviscon. We may possibly get something stronger from the paed when we see him next month, but GP won't prescribe in the mean time.

Right, must dash - time is so short these days!

Hello to everyone else and hope you are all keeping well.

curtaintwitcher · 21/07/2006 23:17

hi all

bella 32wks..blinking heck..birth announcements before we know it

CSWS about silent reflux..Hannah has that and was put onto enfamil formula and it worked wonders she became settled straight away and very rarely throwing up. Infant gaviscon and carobel didnt work for her at all.

Hope everyone else is ok..I have read but cant remember at all..sorry...Adam and Hannah are in bedroom together tonight as adam asked to share and seeing as we will probably be moving them together in sept thought would be a good trial run with the travel cot..surprisingly all quiet..lol Am also 15wks pg now...semi wishing it would slow down as cant get my head around it..lol

munz · 22/07/2006 08:18

gettin worried about this reflux now girls, does any of this sound familiar? - he's fine for a feed till he goes on the pillow for a feed then crys etc suckles for a while then comes off crying (this is normally late afternoon/during the night) is sick at random times althou not projectile (I thought it was a bit of wind ) doesn't particually like being laid on his back after a feed, sometimes crys during winding. but on the other hand he'll feed well some times (esp in the AM) isn't sick, and doesn't mind being laid on his tummy after a feed. we've had a week now of him being up every 2 hours (at best) and i'm absolutly knackered. tonihgt gonna try a bottle of formula instead of the boob for his feed to see what that does as he seemesd to settle better when DH gave him a bottle (EBM/Formula didn't matter, but I've run out of supplys! lol)

CT - 15 weeks my god it's gone so quickly! bella as has your I can remember your announcement!

anyhow gonna have a tiday around then b4 boy wakes up again.

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/07/2006 10:12

munz - some of it does sound like it could be reflux, although am surprised at him being ok laying on his tummy straight after a feed. Take a look at my discovery thread here and check out some of the links on it to read more about reflux.

ct - Pippa won't drink from a bottle at all, so switching formula not an option here. Glad to hear that it has helped Hannah though.

milosmum · 22/07/2006 14:44

munz- milo was bad like that for a while but he was about 6 weeks when it started and after about 2/3 wks it settled down. (docs reccommended different milk). maybe have a word with your health visitor or just pop intot he docs for re assurance???

milosmum · 22/07/2006 14:48

debs- anymore ideas on names???

KAYDON
LUCAS
ASTON
HARLEY
BAYLEY OR BAILEY
KYLE
and his middle name will be James surname Oliver
feel free to cast your votes ladies please

Frizbe · 22/07/2006 22:19

Ok debsey, please don't use Aston, always reminds me of the Villa , love Brodie, used to know someone of that name who was very nice

Munz, if I put dd on her front after a feed she barf's......I usually stick her in her bouncer, although if its a night feed, she usually feeds lying down next to me and falls asleep, so I attempt to wind her in her sleep, just so's you know what I do like....

Bella, good luck for fridays placenta scan, hope its shifted, sure it will have

Hope the rest of you are ok, who'se curtaintwicher?? I'm lost!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/07/2006 07:14

Frizbe you dozy mare - who has children called Adam & Hannah and is pregnant apart from Nemo?!

Debbsy - I like Archie, Ethan or McKenzie. Also a fan of Brodie or Bailey, but I would be inclined to avoid things that would make him BJ Oliver - not a good couple of initials! We had to forgo our favourite girl's name for DD for the same reason - her initials would have been ARS!!

Frizbe · 23/07/2006 09:39

and lol eh CSWS I was thinking it might be Nemo, but wasn't sure, it was quite late
Hmmm hadn't thought about the initials....

milosmum · 23/07/2006 09:53

debs- glad you had a lovely time- im loving Brodie James Oliver!!!!!!

munz · 23/07/2006 11:21

csws - I don't knwo what the bloody hell's going on, all I know is this can't go on much longer i've really had enough now and am totally fed up, DH is away the house needs packing up/cleaning, mum/dad are not back till saturday - althou i'll then have some relief, althou I feel bad they'll get up early with him. yesterday I tried only feeding every 3 hours which seemed to aliviate the crying thing but not the waking in the night thing. (how long do growth spurts last again??) we were up every hour from 2am, so it was 10, 12, 2 then every hour till I brought him in wiht me - I don't think thta would even help as the two mornings i've done that he's still been a terror.

CT - how did the room sharing go last night?

debs - I like bailey but agree with the initals not really being too good. failing that I love Kai and Archie as well. althou we had a bloke in welfare called archie who every one named him archibold (he was short and fat so not a nice thought with that name, still love it thou) I tried to imagion what it would be like to call a 20 somehting and then a 50 somehting with the name iycwim.

csws - is she too young for a training cup thingy yet? would she take formula form that?

MM - have u got any names yet?

bella - I liked your tabatha name. very pretty.

3 weeks thurs till we move nothing's been done yet (well ok some stuff! lol) still only 3 weeks! - so everyone's babies/PG's have to stop! lol. bella - u can't have the baby till I come back on line in about 5 weeks time! lol. same for you MM&B no babies till the end of august at the earliest! lol.

DebbsyandBibby · 23/07/2006 13:19

lol munz hope joeys doing better today, wish there was some advice that i could give you.
Bella looovvve Tabitha beautiful name good luck with your scan.
mm have you got any names yet?
our favourite is Kai it is at the top of dh list too as it means son of the firey one (moi dont know what he means) lol

DebbsyandBibby · 23/07/2006 13:21

agree all about the bj initials but love the name Brodie too, quite like Harley and it would be in keeping with his dad who is a moto cross champion and loves bikes thats why i came up with Harley.
