Just looking for like-minded ladies who are also new at this weird and wonderful thing to share my terror joy...

Feeling good so far at 5+3 although obv very early days and so much talk of miscarriage on this forum that it can become a little scary. Huge sympathy for anyone who's had a miscarriage, btw.

But thought I'd ask:

*how long had you been trying?
*how far along are you (if you know)?
*how are you feeling? Symptoms etc
*who have you told?
*are you, like me, rabidly Googling EVERYTHING?

OP posts:

Don't bother with H&M. Horrid. New Look nice fashionable stuff. Got some bump bands & a pair of leggings. And some Palmers stretch mark stuff Smile

kittencuddles · 22/09/2012 18:26

Hi all, I'm 5+3 I think. We've been trying for about eighteen months but in that time I have had two mcs. My last one was in July and this is our first month of trying.

Feeling very jittery, taking one day at a time and trying to stay calm.

I have lots of symptoms: sore boobs, achy back, very tired but vivid dreams keeping me up!

Fingers crossed for a sticky one.

Congrats and good luck to all of you.

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 22/09/2012 19:46

Hi Kitten, sorry to hear you've had such a rough time, sending you lots of good vibes. I've also had some pretyt vivid dreams, two about having a baby (both in the dpo before I tested positive) and one right out nightmare, amongst others.

GeordieCherry · 22/09/2012 20:18

Hi Kitten fx for a sticky bean. I'll recommend reflexology or acupuncture to help with the relaxation Smile

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 24/09/2012 09:45

I decided to give coffee up entirely, anyone else missing coffee?

MissMedusa · 24/09/2012 10:01

A little bit, not so much for the coffee itself but for the social aspect (my colleagues and I go for coffee twice a day). I've switched to fruit tea but it's not the same.

Jac4478 · 24/09/2012 15:30

Congradulations to all of you! We've been trying since early this year and I'm now 3 weeks gone. We are over the moon! So far so good -so fingers crossed for the next 8 months!

Any advice on taking Omega 3 supplements? I'm on Solgar Prenantal vitamins but not sure if I should be popping Prenatal Omega 3 supplements as well....any tips?

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 24/09/2012 16:48

I googled all my vitamins at the weekend and in the end decided to just continue with the ante-natal one but would be curious to hear what you decide Jac!

hopeful92 · 24/09/2012 17:23

Hi girls, i'm now 5+6 and I've been having quite a lot of dull aching in my lower tummy, almost like the pain you get in tummy a day or so before AF? No bleeding at all, just this pain. It is worse when i tense my stomach i.e when i sneeze/cough/get excited. Anyone else experienced this? No sickness yet just cant help worrying. Other symptoms so far - very tired, very emotional, irritable and very hungry.

fertilityFTW · 24/09/2012 17:27

hopeful92 I'm just about 6wks I think - and all I've had is low level AF type cramping, punctuated by sharp twinges and what feels like a pulled muscle feeling occasionally. No other symptoms except the ones you describe. First time pg so everything was freaking me out - looked it up and got wildly differing responses, so have decided not to worry unless there's bleeding as well and keep fingers crossed for scan time (getting a fairly early one at 7+3 so that should help put mind at ease!)

GeordieCherry · 24/09/2012 19:52

Given up caffeine for the most part. Have a tea or a coffee with caffeine about twice a week. Decaf usually. The advice is up to 200 mg a day & that's one 'proper' coffee. I'm happy with they choice. Trying just to get loads of other fluid down in the day. Didn't drink nearly enough on Saturday & felt rough as...

Congrats Jac! About the vits: I take Sanatogen Mum to Be one a day ones. Just get whatever is the cheapest from Tesco on 3 for 2 Smile

Getting some aches & pains but very much turn out to be ahem digestion related. I'm not going to worry panic unless I see blood

Waiting sooooo long for my first MW appointment is doing my head in! Really want to tell people, not least work. Feel guilty Blush & a bit pukey & so very tired. In bed already Grin

Went for a yummy spa day yesterday. Wasn't allowed the mud wrap (too detoxing) or any fancy pants oils (too risky) or sauna (too hot). Still a v lovely swim & facial & full body massage. Friends I went with knew we were trying so asked & are now on the 'sworn to secrecy' list Smile

Away with mates this coming weekend & I will not get away with not drinking without being outed. This list is expanding somewhat..!

Hope everyone's well & happy Wink

HaveALittleFaith · 24/09/2012 20:00

I'm on the Sanatogen too simply because it was cheap in Tesco and I avoided the pregnacare due to the constipation!

I only drink tea but every time I had it after my BFP I threw up Confused so I switched to decaf,. Only drinking that now, fair but of chocoalte though which is giving me some caffeine!

GeordieCherry · 24/09/2012 20:58

Nothing in particular is making me puke. Just feeling a bit pukey morning & evening when I'm hungry

Have to eat as soooooon as I get up or it's all off Blush

HaveALittleFaith · 24/09/2012 22:13

I find its quantity too - I can only have one slice of toast at breakfast - if I have two I'm sick! Not been sick since Thursday though, wondering if finally passing the 9 week stage means things are settling a bit? My boobs are huge now! They were always generous but oh my days! DH told me tonight I'm 'showing'. Actually he means the flab from my muffin top is meeting the firmness of my uterus! Hmm

GeordieCherry · 25/09/2012 07:34

Oh yeah Faith it's got to be little & often. One piece of rye toast, one (hard) boiled egg. And tea!! I am loving tea ATM, trying to be a bit careful though as it can deplete iron

I'm definitely a bit podgier about the middle but I don't think I can blame that on anything other than not dieting or exercising properly at 6 weeks..! Boobs heavier, up a cup size & flippin sore

hopeful92 · 25/09/2012 08:23

I've not had morning sickness yet, the only time I have actually been sick was when I had a mahoosive migraine. I have been feeling very queasy at bed time though.

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 25/09/2012 14:13

Pregnacare caused constipation? OMG. Note to self. Thanks for the heads up. My symptoms haven't changed much in the 6 whole days since the BFP. I'm going to test again tomorrow as I have the ones that tell you how far along you are and I'd like to see it go up over the next few weeks. I'm stupidly jealous of the ms and hope I get that soon... these are crazy times. Smile

WeatherWitch · 25/09/2012 14:31

I'm on Pregnacare and have been nice and regular - but I'm also having home made smoothies with wheatgerm in for breakfast, Ryvita and home made soup for lunch and quite a lot of veg at dinner so maybe that's counteracting it! I think any multivitamins containing iron can cause constipation - just depends which ones seem to suit you (and which are on special offer; Pregnacare are 3 for 2 at Tesco, and there's a voucher for them in the first Bounty pack too hence why I'm on them)

GeordieCherry · 25/09/2012 17:07

What's a Bounty pack Witch?

Know what you mean One. If you've got a smart phone you could get the Babycentre app. It's free & it gives you something to read about your pg EVERY DAY so you can feel like you're doing something even though there's no midwife action or anything much for a few weeks after the bfp

I've not actually been sick thankfully, just hunger queasiness. Can't wait for second trimester energy burst though. I can manage work & getting home & eating through the week & that's pretty much it Blush

Jac4478 · 25/09/2012 20:48

Onemoreforgoodmeasure - I've decided to go for the MorDHA Prenatal Omega 3 supplement. It's expensive but my sister-in-law believes it helped with her son's development greatly. Has anyone else tried this supplement before?

So far so go, no nausea and I've not gone off anything. I've limited my caffeine intake to 1 cup of tea and 1 coffee a day and I'm trying to reduce this further but it's not easy when you're feeling knackered! No constipation but I've been drinking loads of water and eating a decent amount of fruit and veg for fiber.

GeordieCherry · 26/09/2012 06:32

Jac what's in that supplement? Is it safe versions of fish oil?

I hear ya on the caffeine. The only thing I've had a hankering for has been proper Costa coffee. Luckily they do decaf Smile & I don't have one every day

In sadder news, my friend who's same pg as me had a mc. She texted last night. Feel so bad for her. She's being strong & focusing on the fact she can get pg. Fx it happens for them again quickly & sticks Sad

Off to acupuncture this morning to encourage our lentil to stick around Smile

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 26/09/2012 08:32

Sorry to hear about your friend Geordie. That's very sad, hope she's looking after herself.

I'm anxious this morning, boobs feel better today. I had some weird shooting pains yesterday evening. And I just don't feel pregnant.

WeatherWitch · 26/09/2012 08:59

Geordie - Bounty packs are given out by your MW at the booking in appointment - there's a first one that she gives you then another one you can pick up from Boots/Superdrug, then some more when you give birth and so on. Contain some useful samples and money off vouchers, some utter tat brochures (properly freaked by the "double pumping support bra" - please someone tell me I don't need one of those!) and some reasonably useful booklets.

Hope the acupuncture goes well - I've never been brave enough to try it but always heard good things from friends who have.

I'm taking the Pregnacare one that also has Omega 3 capsules. I was going to go for the Pregnacare max that also contains calcium (family history of osteoporosis) until I realised that I could either pay £5 extra per month for those, or £4.50 for enough Tesco own brand calcium to last me the entire pregnancy.

I'm off caffeine too but am allowing myself a cup of tea on weekend mornings. DH had to give me a gentle talking to when I was convinced last weekend that a coffee eclair on top of my bi-weekly tea was going to cause a MC.

Onemore - I keep having days like that too. Boobs were almost pain-free a couple of days ago, then I woke up today unable to turn over in bed because even moving them that little bit was hurting. And I've had no MS or anything - I think some people do just have fewer symptoms than others.

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 26/09/2012 09:34

Thanks weather witch, it's not even as if boobs don't hurt at all, they just hurt a lot less, I wish I hadn't found out so soon.(wanders of to find cool calm collected One)

GeordieCherry · 26/09/2012 11:24

Thanks Witch. Argh, my MW appointment isn't til 15 October & surely it's best to be taking supplements from as early as poss..? Might see what Holland & Barrat have to offer cos I've got a voucher Grin

Acupuncture is amazing. I was always dead squeamish of needles before but made myself give blood & largely ok now. Have to talk myself down sometimes! I am convinced that acupuncture helped us conceive & I'm going to continue throughout to help with symptoms & relaxation

I have days (more as the gap between bfp & MW appointment) that I don't feel pg & others when I do... If you need convincing try poas?

Meeting my friend for cake soon, hope she's ok. Feel very sad for her

I've applied to be a life model for an art class... Wonder if I'll get it. Would love to have a drawn record of the changes to my body over the next few months Wink
