Just looking for like-minded ladies who are also new at this weird and wonderful thing to share my terror joy...

Feeling good so far at 5+3 although obv very early days and so much talk of miscarriage on this forum that it can become a little scary. Huge sympathy for anyone who's had a miscarriage, btw.

But thought I'd ask:

*how long had you been trying?
*how far along are you (if you know)?
*how are you feeling? Symptoms etc
*who have you told?
*are you, like me, rabidly Googling EVERYTHING?

OP posts:

Fairy back away from the google!

Fwiw, some days I just didn't feel pregnant. It had me very worried! Didn't test again but joined Babycentre who do a daily "this is where your pg is today" thing. Find that very handy I must say as it makes sense for me

Is it defo a period-y pain? Constipation is a symptom/ side effect & for me is v painful. I've had IBS so know the difference largely between womb & bowel pain, but that was scary too

Scan date set for 8 November. Cannae wait to see the wee grape Grin

forgetmenots · 17/10/2012 17:48

Stepping away from the google too! FWIW fairy I'm 6+1 and I'm worried! Don't feel pregnant today but have been having period-like pains, apparently just ligaments stretching. Doctor has told me to go straight to the EPU if it gets significantly worse or if there is bleeding, but she didn't sound concerned, just tested for UTIs and had a prod of my belly.

Fairy130389 · 17/10/2012 20:41

I have been very good today and only googled nice things like baby's development etc. feel like I need a 12 step programme! It is definitely period pain but not too bad and has nearly gone today. Jealous of your scan Geordie! Is anyone going to find out what they're having?

GeordieCherry · 18/10/2012 13:22

I'm not keen to find out, but DP is... Don't know how best to negotiate that one, there's not really a compromise available!

Very much just want low risk for Downs ATM.. Sad

Fairy130389 · 20/10/2012 18:59

I'm sure all will be fine... I think on the subject of finding out sex, it depends how strongly you feel about it? We both want a surprise but I think if one wanted to it would come down to how strongly the other person felt about it?

GeordieCherry · 21/10/2012 16:47

Well, DP thinks he would like to find out so we can 'be prepared'. Boring. I want to decorate the room neutrally anyway, not pink or blue & I want to meet him or her to see what name they'd suit from our list

Also, as my friend pointed out, they're not finding out just in case anything awful should happen they would be a little less attached. Not sure on that one mind, I feel very connected to our little grape!

So nauseous today, nearly puked in Tesco Blush. Glad of the symptoms, but that was very close!

Having a good clear out today, I love recycling/ tipping/ re-gifting/ selling/ chucking stuff Grin

GeordieCherry · 25/10/2012 20:35

I actually ate a Pot Noodle today. How gross?? Blush

It was the only think I could stomach. Looking forward to editing more healthily over the next few weeks!

lou3180 · 26/10/2012 07:03

Hey everyone, thought I'd join in on this one if that's ok?
I have the same scan date as you Geordiecherry - 8th November can't get here soon enough!
Am really anxious. Not sure if it's a gut feeling or if I have convinced myself something is going to go wrong. Think because my symptoms are practically non existent it is making me worry more. Just tired with really sore boobs and the odd bit of cramping. Shouldn't complain I suppose...
Hope everyone is well and happy Friday!!

GeordieCherry · 27/10/2012 21:35

Welcome Lou they sound like symptoms to me!
Fx for the next 2 weeks flying by & healthy happy scans Smile

Just coming out of a migraine that started last night. Been so poorly today. Ended up having 2 paracetamol, which I really didn't want but nothing else was working Sad
Hope I haven't done any damage, something else to worry about..!

hopeful92 · 28/10/2012 18:16

It's my 12 week scan a week on Tuesday, and I am ridiculously excited. Only problem is, I'm slightly worried the scan will be fuzzy because of my size - I'm a size 16-18 (16 pre pregnancy but more 18 now due to bload). Got my m/w appointment in a couple of hours to give my bloods and pee and get weighed (uh-oh...). Any advice on how not to be so goddamn worried about everything (weight, scans, people judging me coz I'm a fatty etc) I just feel sooo fat and feel that the sonograher will make a rude comment or summat :(

Ministrawb · 03/11/2012 10:59

Hi there. I'm new to this too! How exciting and scary at the same time. I'm 12 weeks according to doc. Got my 1st scan on Monday and I'm SOOOO nervous. I've had no sickness at all just bloating in evenings and my normally quite average boobs are suddenly growing and painful. I'm 38 so late starter but only took 4 months to conceive. Hoping all is well but very nervous.

Ministrawb · 03/11/2012 11:01

I'm with you on the nerves. Only got date through on the 1st for the 5th November. You can't help thinking what if but fingers crossed for us all

GeordieCherry · 04/11/2012 10:10

Welcome Strawb! Hope the MW appointment puts your mind at rest & you get to enjoy your pg ASAP

Hopeful I'm sure you'll be fine. They aren't there to judge, but support & help you. Once you've got the first appointment out the way you'll feel more relaxed

Went to a wedding last night. DP had 2 pints & I had ginger ale. Love love love waking up hangover free Smile

I'm 12 weeks on Tuesday & scan Thursday. Nervous, excited, can't wait, nervous again all mixed into one Grin

gamboj · 04/11/2012 13:51

Hi all

Only just got my BFP last weekend. Beyond excited/ nervous/ exhilarated! This is my first baby so finding this all very confusing. Had my docs appointment last Monday and he reckons I'm about 5+3. Was so excited I didn't pay any attention to what he was saying! As a result, I'm totally confused about when I'm supposed to have my next appointment, when my first scan is etc. any advice??

Xx

GeordieCherry · 04/11/2012 18:50

Hi Gamboj & congratulations!

Most people are looked after by MW, don't know what it's like in your area, but your next appointment might well be with them..?

Maybe phone the Dr & ask what happens next

Mine took my BP, didn't bother with a pg test, worked out a due date, said congratulations & gave me the number for the MW. Didn't see them until booking in appointment at 10 weeks

Be ready for a change of appetite & super tiredness btw Smile

Fairy130389 · 04/11/2012 19:11

Hi Ladies!!!!!!!
Just thought I'd drop by and say... I HAVE NEVER FELT SO SICK IN MY ENTIRE LIFE

oohhhhhhhhhhhhhh goddddddddddddddddddd Honestly.
Also - this stupid taste in my mouth and back of my nose is making the heaving worse!
I am literally existing on plain toast and jacket potatoes! Bring back the days when all I could think about was food.

Sorry to bring a dampener to the thread, I'm aware pregnancy is beautiful and all very exciting and blah blah blah but my GOD it's getting hideous!!!!!!! Geordie I am SO Jealous that you are at the 12 week mark and coming out the other end of puke street!

xnancyx · 05/11/2012 19:21

Hiya Everyone,

Congratulations to you all! I'm 10 + 5. When I first found out (15th Oct) I thought I was only a few weeks but worked out my dates and had a shock. We weren't trying but are ecstatic! It's all so overwhelming too. I've been feeling very very dizzy, I've been given some meds to help with that now and felt sick a lot and also so so so so so so tired all the time. I know it'll be worth it though, obviously. We've told our families and a couple of close friends. The way I see it is if, god forbid, something should go wrong, these are people I would turn to for support. I can't wait until my first scan so I know that my little bean is okay. How is everyone else feeling?

LOVE X

xnancyx · 05/11/2012 19:22

Also I am living on Jacket Potatoes too!

GeordieCherry · 05/11/2012 19:43

Fairy it subsides after week 10, but it ain't gone yet..!

Congrats Nancy know what you mean about getting support just in case. Fx all is ok with all of us

Smile
Fairy130389 · 06/11/2012 14:15

Hi Ladies!
I have had an exciting day today - I had a bit of bleeding on sunday which freaked me out, so I was booked for an early scan this morning - all is fine and got to see my little blueberry with it's flickering little heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!!! Have been sick twice today but all worth it after that. EEEEEKKKK can't believe it's actually real, can you believe we are actually growing BABIES in there?!!!!!!!! Hope you are all well x

GeordieCherry · 06/11/2012 17:40

Fairy that is so exciting!!

I know! Real babies! All these size references are fruit based you'd think it was a fruit bowl not a womb...

Mine's a lime & scan in 2 sleeps Grin

Was working with a woman today who's 13 weeks & she said seeing hers move was amazing; doing wee somersaults & everything!

Fairy130389 · 07/11/2012 06:35

Ahh that will be so exciting!! my friend has just had her 12 week scan too - she said that same thing, she was moving and making it move around!! A far cry from the poppy seed days!!!

P.S - The only problem with fruit references is that it does sort of put a dampner on your five a day - I'm not sure I'll be able to eat a blueberry with so much enthusiasm again!

GeordieCherry · 07/11/2012 06:46

I wonder what it does to it when I sneeze (which is a lot ATM...)

Argh, I never thought of that with the fruit. I keep changing my screensaver to to appropriate fruit as well!

pocopearl · 07/11/2012 09:56

Hi all just found out I am pregnant after 8 months of trying and now the initial shock has worn off I am panicking a little because I don't know what to do next. Any advice/directions...?

GeordieCherry · 07/11/2012 17:08
