Sorry this is totally self indulgent and not very interesting for you guys, but would you mind casting a vote on the two options that dh and I have narrowed it down to for our expected ds (due April). Its between:

Scott Spencer Roberts
or
Spencer Scott Roberts

If you don't like either then do say...

Thanks

I am hoping Calista Flockhart will be past history by the time my future DD grows up a bit. it seems a good bet

Tinker · 06/01/2004 14:01

I thought Calista was one of the moons of one of the planets but it's Callisto apparently. Calista is lovely but some of the other moon names are great:
Cordelia, Ophelia, Bianca, Cressida, Desdemona, Juliet, Ariel, Titania, Miranda, Oberon - they're all Shakespearan characters, non?

But I think I'm bagsying Ganymede for my next one. With Amadeus.

Shouldn't say that, FF, You know Dadslib has been lurking around today!

Tinker · 06/01/2004 14:06

I know a Willow. Real name Wilhomena but always been called Willow.

Festivefly · 06/01/2004 14:08

Willow Bean

CountessDracula · 06/01/2004 14:10

Ruby is the 50th most popular name! I'm amazed, I called my dog Ruby nearly 3 years ago and everyone laughed and said it was a funny old-fashioned name. But since then old fashioned names have made such a come-back haven't they? I was in the playground a while ago and there were two Archies, an Alfie, a Freddie and a couple of girls (can't remember the names but something like Ethel and Maud!!!)

Fennel a friend of mine has a 1 yo dd called Calypso and it really suits her.

Or really chilled out little girl you could call 'Mellow'.. what about 'Melon' if she's a rather tearful ("wet" sort of child?

Oh, I'm so witty & clever today, aren't I?

Fennel · 06/01/2004 14:15

I love Calypso but people say it's like a soft drink. Not sure, I've never drunk anything of that name.

DP would like to call baby Calisto (after evil heroine in Xena, he'd also like a Xena). But I think Calisto is generally the male version and Calista the female.

JanH · 06/01/2004 14:51

Calypso is one of Mary Wesley's heroines - quite a feisty character IIRC!

CountessDracula · 06/01/2004 14:52

Zebra, Melon could be bad it she ended up having massive tits

Festivefly · 06/01/2004 14:55

My porker is called Ben and everyone calls him bin, i spent quite sometime even explaining to him that he wasn't actually a bin and theres some things he shouldn't eat

zebra · 06/01/2004 15:14

ROFL, CD.

Sparklemum · 07/01/2004 14:08

I like Spencer Scott. Spencer's unusual but still a solid name, I think. It was also the name of that yummy bloke on Big Brother last year - he was quite cool.

Am interested in everyone's comments on Freya. I love it too but DH says it's wet. I see that Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits has recently named his new daughter Katya Ruby Rose which I think is lovely. Was thinking of hijacking it and naming new baby Freya Ruby Rose. What do you think? Can't believe I'm taking inspiration from Dire Straits!
