Hi Everyone.

Bascially not been feeling very well, the past week or so. Been feeling sick and had like tummyache and had bad back (sciatica) and far too hot. When other people aren't hot.

Decided to do a pregnancy test. Well did the business so to speak and then got what appeared to be a faint line. The next day, I thought hmmm. Got a pack of those Clearline Digital tests, and did what not on them and got the not pregnant.

I am so confused at the moment, am I arnt I. To be honest I just don't know what to do.

Has anyone else had any experience of this sort of thing and what did you do.

Anita.

Defo 2nd the test in morning first wee... If your early in preg the hormone isnt concentrated enough in the other wees. And if positive call your docs tobe seen or at least get someone to call back if they are full... Both being on some meds or high blood pressure can be bad for pregnancy so you need medical advice (it does make yourcase a priority/emergency so dont feel bad for asking).

As far as i understood too, you cant get a false positive because uyou simply dont have the required hormone present if you are not pregnant, so imo definately worth further investigation.

lauraloo09 · 05/07/2012 21:30

Poor you. Can see why you're confused...however if you have done 3 tests in the same day your urine might not be strong enough to pick up the hgc? hormones I would suggest you try first thing in the morning please let us know how you get on xxx

ANITA135 · 05/07/2012 21:35

ANITA135 · 05/07/2012 23:22

Aww thanks for your replies. The first test was done On Monday afternoon/evening of the 2nd July, the digital was done on Tuesday afternoon 3rd July and the third test was done today. at around 1.30pm, but didn't have much to drink and things. Out of all of those tests, 1 faint line and basically 2 negatives I guess.

Hello and morning. Got up and did another test and used and guess what a faint pink line . I am confused . My man said last night oh I bet you 99.9% you are not pregnant and so on.

That you probably are.... I'm

More advice shortly

zoeymlucas · 06/07/2012 09:29

I would get a digi test if I were you and then see what that says x x x Good luck x

ANITA135 · 06/07/2012 10:02

Hi,

Zoeymlucas - I did that was the second test I did and it came out not pregnant.

Well I phoned my drs up and they are going to ring me back. So see what he has to say.

OP posts:
gnocci · 06/07/2012 10:50

Right, I think you ARE pregnant and the line test is a lot more sensitive than the digi. Like I said above, it took me ages to get a positive on a digi (at least 3/4 days later than getting a pink line).

:)

gnocci · 06/07/2012 10:52

It is pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to get a faint line without being pregnant. the ink reacts with a hormone that only exists in your wee if you are pregnant. Hormone = line. No matter how faint. You simply CANNOT get a line unless you are pregnant. Trust me, my first few line tests were soooo faint I had to hold them up to a window, tilt them and squint Grin

lauraloo09 · 06/07/2012 11:20

#anita* can you upload photo of the test you did this morning? I would most def say that you are pg as the test doesn't pick up hormones that aren't there if you know what I mean...fingers crossed ou get the outcome you wish xx

ANITA135 · 06/07/2012 11:30

Sorry a bit later perhaps. Well rang my drs and the dr rang back. All I can say he wasnt very sympathetic to say the least. I said I think I may be pregnant, his answer well you are or you are not. Things like that. :(

Pickles77 · 06/07/2012 11:37

Oh how nice of him?! I would say that you are, and i would book an appointment to go in and see the Dr, they can do a bloodtest.
How are you feeling in yourself?

ANITA135 · 06/07/2012 11:51

Oh what I forgot to say I am seeing a dr this afternoon. He was also going on about contraception and all that. If it happens it happens if not not. He said oh you are going to have to do a urine test . You watch no line will appear.

OP posts:
Pickles77 · 06/07/2012 11:57

You should take the ones you have with you and explain about the morning test you did etc. good luck Smile

ANITA135 · 06/07/2012 12:15

Hi Anita

When you see Doc make sure you remember to ask about your blood pressure meds. When I say my doc after a positive, he talked all through my thyroid medication (I'm Hypothyroid) and it was only because I remembered right at the end of the appt. to ask about my blood pressure meds, that he looked it up and told me to stop taking them as they weren't suitable during pregnancy. Don't rely on the fact that Doc is looking at your records and should be paying attention to meds you're on, they can overlook things.
Obviously though don't stop taking without Doc's advise though, chances are I was on a completely different tablet to you.
Hope all goes well Smile

ANITA135 · 06/07/2012 12:32

I'm on ramipril , looked up the instructions and it said its harmful to the baby and stop taking them if you are pregnant. What did they do about your blood pressure?

OP posts:
Debs3013 · 06/07/2012 12:45

Yep I was on Ramipril as well - what are the odds?? My case was weird, my blood pressure was sky high but when they'd taken it I also had uncontrolled thyroid problems. I was put on Ramipril and then thyroxine for my thyroid. I was taking Ramipril for about a year or so and all my blood pressure measurements were then fine. I kept badgering the doc that I wanted to come off it but he wouldn't let me. Anyway, when i got my positive he told me to stop taking and we reached a compromise that I'd have my bp regularly checked for a few months to see what the reult would be, if it increased he said there were beta blockers that were safe to take. Anyway all my readings were fine and touch wood, years later it's still fine.
Mine was definately raised because of my un-checked thyroid and once that was settled by BP was fine.
Don't worry though, there are other meds you can take.

ANITA135 · 06/07/2012 13:16

I have family history of high blood pressure , my mum and brother suffers with it and take spills

OP posts:
seven77 · 06/07/2012 13:56

Is there an NHS walk in centre anywhere near you? If your meds are harmful when pregnant you need to find out ASAP. If you've had a + line test no matter how faint you're pregnant, stop wasting money on overpriced digital ones that don't work (speaking from experience too!). If you're still not sure you need a referral for a blood test, if your GP won't do it ring back and say you need to see someone else today. Maybe a nurse would be more helpful?

ANITA135 · 06/07/2012 14:01

This is the test I too this morning, as soon as I got up. i119.photobucket.com/albums/o131/anitaandsimon/Snapbucket/6B376114.jpg
