help!!! is it???

got up this AM (about 5 mins ago) and had noticeable tummy cramps - assumed was wind as didn't go yesterday. anyhow, couldn't even wait to stand up fully b4 had dribbles - (assumed was peepee as i've been bit lax with pelvic floor) anyhow got a towel and went to the loo, pushed a touch as if to pee and did pee then stopped so wiped - loads and loads of CM so wiped again and there was what can only be described as a clear thick snail trail type of substance .

I know bubba's fully engaged now but I didn't expect to have a show the day after being told he was!

this is the first one and when I stand up can feel the pee/fluid coming out - there wasn't much colour to the fluid and no smell.

now I just have aches in my pelvic area - but again could be wind - might try to poopey in a bit, should I ring DH home do u think? his bosses are being real twats right now. shall I ring the m/w I don't wanna look a fool if it was only pee and a slight show but also don't wanna run the risk of anything if it's my waters. iycwim.

and to think today I was gonna go for a coffee with a mate - not to mention paydays not till tomorrrow and tesco.com's not coming till friday!

munz it does sound like a show or waters. Put a sanitary pad on and if it is wet in a hour then it is your waters.

hunkermunker · 22/02/2006 08:57

Ring the midwife. Sounds like it could be your waters - they can check for you if you go in.

Exciting stuff...!

Nemo1977 · 22/02/2006 08:57

meant to say if it is a show then you can still have up to 2 wks

munz · 22/02/2006 08:59

thanks girls i'm so worried now, i've got a pad on incase, guess i'd best ring DH as well - as if that's not gonna look sus cos he's asked for today/tomorrow off twice and both times the bloke said no. think i'll do m/w first then DH. or should I wait for the hour and have some breckie to see?

I'd have soem breakie and relax for a bit, baby might be a little while yet. Def sounds like your waters are going though, and you are going to have to get checked out today. Good luck.

Nemo1977 · 22/02/2006 09:04

Agree would wait and have brekkie hun there is no rush

Mumatuks · 22/02/2006 09:06

Hi Munz,
With my first I had the show at 6.30 that morning and DS arrived at 10.03pm that night, I know wer're all different, but I'm trying to say I wouldn't worry about having a bit of brekkie first. If today is the day make sure you eat well. I missed lunch as I was too excited and getting quite bad contractions. It really slowed my labour down! It wasn't until tea time when a MW got me something to eat that it sped everything up!

Good Luck! I think this is the exciting part, you know it's happening, but your not in too much pain!

munz · 22/02/2006 09:10

ok just went down stairs and could feel more running out- running not gushing I know i've been lax with my PF but not this lax it's like that woman from little britian!

just tried the m/w and it's engaged, no one's picking up on del suite and DH can't be found in work. gonna try to calm down and have some tea and toast

it's just a dull ache in my back rigiht now the baby was v active last night I swear he was trying to claw his way out didn't count anything as he was calm all night.

oooh definitely sounds like your waters. Think you're right to get plenty of rest and brekkie first!

Nemo1977 · 22/02/2006 09:13

ooo munzie am sooo excited..lol

mummytosteven · 22/02/2006 09:13

look at us oooohing an aaaahing away like old ladies - just think of me and Nemo as the Little Britain charity shop ladies Munz

Cadmum · 22/02/2006 09:14

Hello Munzie! Sounds like your waters to me. I would keep trying the midwife. They can tell right away as the pH is not the same as wee.

Sorry that it is not starting out as the dream labour... Thinking of you and following your posts!

mummytosteven · 22/02/2006 09:16

i'ld stick a pad on - as I think they just test the pad to see if it's your waters.

Nemo1977 · 22/02/2006 09:17

pmsl MTS

Cadmum · 22/02/2006 09:17

Meant to add that rest is a good idea but do contact the midwife just to make sure that the LO is managing well now that your waters may have gone. The midwife may want to have a quick listen if nothing else.

Very exciting stuff. Maybe it was your labour that woke me up?!?

sweetkitty · 22/02/2006 09:18

Oh how exciting sounds very much like waters to me too.

With my first DD waters didn't gush just a trickle like I had wet myself but it didn't stop constant trickle, she wasn't born much after that. Second DD waters never went at all but had a show a few days before.

Sounds like this is it munz, are you going in later to get checked out? Best of luck honey sounds like you will be holding your baby really soon

hunkermunker · 22/02/2006 09:18

As for it looking suspicious - if you're in labour, only the most evil boss would suspect that you'd done it on purpose to get your DH the day off!

Kelly1978 · 22/02/2006 09:18

munz, my second labour started with backache like that.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 22/02/2006 09:19

munz · 22/02/2006 09:20
