Depends how pregnant. I'm 5 months and it doesn't seem so much of a problem at the moment.

belindarose · 25/05/2012 07:54

I agree. Far too hot last night! 35 weeks, so quite a bit of me to lug around in the day too. My last baby was a late August one, so had the whole summer of it though. Walking up a steep hill nearly killed me the other day!

iowmum88 · 25/05/2012 07:54

I'm 39+2 and although I'm bloody hot I'm making the most of the sunshine with DS!
Would rather it be like this then raining and stick indoors!!

iowmum88 · 25/05/2012 07:55

Stuck

karatekimmi · 25/05/2012 08:01

Yep, too bloody hot for me too. Due today, but no signs of baby coming out yet!! Yesterday was cloudy in the morning, but it looks like a scorcha today!

PieMistress · 25/05/2012 08:07

Am also really struggling with the heat! DS was a winter baby so don't really have summery mat clothes andseeingas only 4 weeks to go don't really want to buy any ! Ankles and feet horribly swollen by the end of the day so wearing flip flops to work :)

Snowboarder · 25/05/2012 08:15

I'm 30 weeks with a 14 month old to run around after! Also got sausage legs and really bad swelling which is exascerbated by the heat.

I feel like a right killjoy moaning about it, especially since it's a rare occurrence in blighty but I am mightily fed up now Sad

38+3 here, and Scottish. Not coping well at all with this heat! Thank god I'm nearing the end though, can't imagine another month or two of this!

VickityBoo · 25/05/2012 08:18

Due in October so all summer to get through! I'm 20 weeks so not too big, I don't think it's having an effect yet. Only in ways it may have done without being pregnant.

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 25/05/2012 08:26

I'm with you on the 40 mins sleep Sad

37+5 here and far too hot to be pregnant.

Laurasauras · 25/05/2012 08:48

28 weeks with twins and failing here! lack of cool maternity clothes=wearing bra and pants around house. using my sausage fingers to order some dresses online!

whitby80 · 25/05/2012 09:57

Yes. I am so not used to it. Had both of mine in April so just not used to heat. Not sure how I will make it to September.

Iheartpasties · 25/05/2012 10:00

Well I wanted to die when I made it through summer in australia at 7 and 8 months pregnant, we had a heat wave one week. OMG! It was so hot at night, something like 26 in our bedroom at night. lush.

Littlecherublegs · 25/05/2012 10:28

Yes, its warm!!!!

Im nearly 25 weeks so have a few more weeks to go yet - and the whole summer!!

Im coping ok - when all the windows are open and can walk around the house in next to nothing - though am sure it will get worse as I get bigger!

Ice-lollies are helping!! Smile

bibbitybobbitybunny · 25/05/2012 10:32

I was 36 weeks pregnant on the hottest ever day since records began in this country (10th or 11th August 2003). I think the temp in London got up to 40 degrees. I felt sorry for myself but even sorrier for the poor women giving birth on that day!

openerofjars · 25/05/2012 10:32

39+4 here and getting v pissed off with having to wear a dress with no leggings (have awful legs).

Mind you, in this heat, I am pissed of with everything. Grin. Flies, people, the goldfish...

Sympathy for those of you with weeks to go and still at work etc, it must be hell. At least I can shut all the blinds and curtains and sit around in my pants if needs must (cue doorbell).

Kazriina · 25/05/2012 10:39

Snap! I'm 32 weeks and feeling very sorry for myself! I'm trapped in a vicious cycle of get hot, have large iced drink, need toilet because of said large drink, get upstairs, get hot, repeat!
Nobody around me seems to understand!

Florin · 25/05/2012 13:58

I am 36 weeks pregnant and completely miserable. I got approximately 4.5 minutes sleep last night. Got so hot I just sat on the bathroom floor between 2-3am as didn't know what else to do. Found a cold mist spray and that helped a bit. Still got a week at work and no air conditioning I want to strangle my colleagues. I am not pleasant to be around. Got hospital tour tonight to which I have been warned is hot normally so will be even hotter tonight.
My feet have swollen up to the size of a small African nation too. Keep day dreaming at my desk of floating about in an nice cool swimming pool!

Hpbp · 25/05/2012 15:17

31 week and yes, it is too hot especially upstairs in the bedrooms, loft thing !!!
I had to change my son's bedsheets in the middle of the night because they were wet with his sweating... I could not sleep either until 3am or was it even later because I could hear birds singing ?... Knackered today.
I have been told to drink warm or hot drinks so that the internal body temperature rises to the outside temperature, making you feel less hot. It works. Apparently this is what North African people do. I guess they know what they are talking about :)

RhinestoneCowgirl · 25/05/2012 15:21

Sympathies to all pg women in the heat. I was pg with DS during the 2006 heatwave and was very grumpy. Think I spent most of July that year sat in the house nekkid with the fan on (wasn't a pretty sight)

openerofjars · 25/05/2012 15:46

Nooooo! Don't have hot drinks, they will bring your core temperature up and your baby won't like being too hot. Have cold drinks, which will bring your core temperature down and be better for the baby.

Bonnyone · 25/05/2012 16:53

I'm 32 weeks and melting on the train as I write this! Hate commuting in this heat esp the tube! Am going to moan to my dh at every opportunity because I can!!! Sympathise with you all. X

Alligatorpie · 25/05/2012 17:50

I moved from north africa last week and love this heat. Actually I am wearing a cardigan right now, as it is a bit cool in the garden. In Egypt it was 36c and I had no air con for a week - that was painful. Plus shoulders and knees need to be covered at all times - not nice at 36 weeks pg.
I hope it lasts until September. Love love love it!

Angelico · 25/05/2012 17:57

I'm 21 weeks and in last 2 days feet have started puffing up with the heat! Luckily I live in Ireland so this will be our one week of summer... Wink
