I didnt think i could get any more evil but last nights temp saw me ripping off my blinds from the windows as 1 of them was creaking and it was driving me mad - big mistake, now i only have curtains to keep the bleedin sun out.

also why does every friggin bird in the world seem to have moved into the tree in our front garden, cant sleep cos of the noise, cant shut the windows cos ill die of heat stroke.

2 weeks to go Sad im glad i dont have to leave the house and can sit around in just my pants and moan to whoever will stop long enough to listen!

Perhaps everyone has this sorted already and still to no avail but a simple table fan makes ALL the difference trying to sleep. Ok so it's not exactly a frugal use of electricity to keep a fan on all night but it turns no sleep into lots of sleep no bother. We can't have windows open at night due to being in city centre (noise, fumes, fag smoke) so our fan is my best friend at the moment :D Envious of those with not long to go... still 11 weeks here!

Keep all the windows and curtains SHUT during the day is my top tip for keeping a cooler house overnight.

I just did an interview for an internal post, 2 hours commute from here, can't drive as have SPD and it was 29 degrees. Was in the door of interview 5 minutes and I knew that the interview questions had been written for someone else.. Angry. I got the interview essentially because they need more than one internal applicant to be able to interview and they need to fill the post fast (didn't realise this when I applied).

I don't mind the other candidate getting it, she will be great at the job, but I do mind having traipsed over there like an idiot for a job that had been given away before I ever sat my fat behind down on the chair. 39 weeks pregnant.

Oh Interview...that sucks big time! Angry Interview experience is never wasted but a 2 hour commute in this heat at 39 weeks with SPD? That's just unnecessarily cruel!

This is my last week at work...4 days and counting. Have everyone under strict instructions not to expect me to attend any meetings because I'm far too fucking hot and grumpy so I can try and clear my outstanding work to leave the way clear for my replacement...she is soooo welcome to it! Grin

Temperatures to drop here over the next few days. Hallelujah! Never thought I'd be be glad to see the back of a heatwave!

cherrypieplum · 28/05/2012 18:49

I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and starting to get uncomfortable. The foot swelling started a week ago. I can't bear to look at my own feet at the moment!! Today my left os more swollen than my right. What's that about??

InterviewMAD · 28/05/2012 22:24

Dropping already tonight RubberBandit.. woo hoo.

I do think - for anyone reading - interview experience at 39 weeks in a heatwave might just be wasted though! The feedback from manager was I kept starting off well and trailing off.. normally I can waffle for England but yeah, I could barely follow my own train of thought. I thought I said all this stuff I had prepared but apparently, when she gave the feedback I had said all sorts of random things that I thought meant one thing but was generally ramble. I NEVER ramble.
