I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

Hi, sorry for not checking in...
Baby boy was born at 0215 Sunday morning, 8lb 7oz.

My contractions were on/off all evening, and DP got a bit nervy and basically frogmarched me to the car. Got to the hospital to be told I was only 2-3cm. Got a bit teary as the pain was so bad, and bleated about an epidural... to be told that despite all the hospital literature and what I may have been told, they don't offer them anymore!

The midwife did a sterling job of calming me down, and my boy pushed his way out not two hours after getting into hospital. We left just ten hours later.

We're back at work today (plus one!), and feel like life is pretty complete.
Very very good luck and best wishes to you all x

DairyNips · 11/06/2012 14:28

idrather massive congratulations! Well done! Good weight too! Glad you're all home and enjoying cuddlesGrin

Twittwooo · 11/06/2012 14:37

Hi everyone, do you mind if I join this thread? I usually post on another but this one is much more appropriate now, as I'm 12 days overdue, fed up and tearful!

How overdue are the other ladies on here?

I've been preparing myself for a natural hypnobirth in water, but the longer things continue the more likely I will be induced and have a completely different experience. I know the most important thing is a healthy baby, but it's difficult having to make the decisions rather than nature doing it for you. I would much prefer not to be induced, but I don't want to take any risks either. Has anyone on here declined induction? It would be great to know about your experiences.

JBurge · 11/06/2012 14:53

Idratherbe massive congratulations!

Twitttwoo I've also done a Hypnobirthing course and although I'm still only 39+5 I'm already getting worried about induction! Also I'm suffering from SPD so I'm now starting to think I just want him out any old way, which completely goes against everything we've worked towards.

Can I ask you, how much practise are you doing and are you practising with your partner at all?

blondiedollface · 11/06/2012 15:00

I am fed up, in a lot of non-labour related pain and I could cry every other minute.

Congrats to everyone who has had their LO's, you are all my light at the end of the tunnel...

Kveta · 11/06/2012 15:01

new thread here btw :)

EmilyD2012 · 11/06/2012 15:12

Wow, congrats Idratherbe - well done you!! Hope you're enjoying cuddles now! x

used2bthin · 11/06/2012 15:12

thanks dairynips they said the speculum when I had the swab would hurt like a smear ad it wasn't that bad so fingers crossed. Huge congratulations ginger and I'dratherbe!

And welcome twitwoo, I am 40+3 today.

Twittwooo · 11/06/2012 15:54

Thanks for the welcome used2bthin, it's no fun being overdue, is it?

JBurge - it's good to have a hypnobirthing buddy on here! Try not to worry about induction at your stage, as you will know it's all about positive thinking! Also, my HB practitioner has said that it's perfectly possible to use the techniques with induction, but it's still a disappointing prospect to not do things totally naturally. I'm listening to the affirmations daily and doing rainbow relaxation every evening. My husband usually reads the rainbow relaxation to me with the music in the background, but now and again I listen to the Marie Mongan CD instead. I practise breathing whenever I remember. At the beginning my husband did the relaxation with me sometimes but he doesn't as much now, because he's usually reading the script! What kinds of things are you doing?

JBurge · 11/06/2012 16:09

We started off by DH reading the scripts to me but I found that it wasn't really helping me to relax, I think because he has quite a loud voice and struggles with making it soft!
My HB practitioner gave me MP3s of her doing various techniques which I listen to everyday, and I'm intending on listening to these during labour.

I've been practising the breathing during my braxton hicks. I hope we both get to use what we've learnt as much as possible and have as natural births as poss too!

JBurge · 11/06/2012 16:12

Just to cheer you all up, I promised my DH a while ago that is I was still PG when England play their first game then I'll let him paint the bump as a football! So in about an hour when he gets home my bump will be transformed!!

DairyNips · 11/06/2012 16:16

Hey all, join us over on the new thread! (see kveta's link a few posts back)Smile

SilverSage · 11/06/2012 20:11

Hello ladies, we're FINALLY home from the hospital, after nearly a week (I don't have an iphone)!

After my mucous plug went last Tuesday morning, contractions started about 2.30pm. My waters broke at home at 11.30pm, and Francesca Marie was born at 10am the next morning (wed 6th) weighing 7lbs 15oz. I went into labour at 39+2, and she was born the next day, so sorry anyone who's overdue!

DairyNips · 11/06/2012 20:13

Massive congratulations SilverGrin So pleased for you. Lovely nameSmile Come over to the new thread (link in kvetas post a few posts back)

JBurge · 11/06/2012 20:14

Hi Silver

Congratulations! And thank you for restoring a bit of faith that people are still going into labour naturally! :)

I love the name you have chosen! I hope the little lady settles into her new home well!

LimeFlower · 11/06/2012 23:00

Hello everybody :)

Congratulations to those who have had their babies,to those still waiting my deepest sympathy but it's soooo worth it at the end.
Our wee surprise was born on Thursday 7th of June. He's very handsome boy weighing 7lb 11oz.

Came back today from the hospital, not enough time to uptade all details but:
Luckily they had a bed in hospital on Wednesday, got a tablet in the evening to ripen the cervix, mild cramps in the morning.Wheeled out to delivery suite between 8 and 9 in the morning, baby born at 11:24.Had g&a and diamorphine, speedy labour and unfortunately episiotomy.
Baby is...the best thing that happened to me,not enough words to describe him.

Thanks for all your support and good luck to these still waiting :)

DairyNips · 12/06/2012 13:10
