I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

lucky same here - I now stand up, turn around a couple of times, then pee again, before flushing. It's absurd.

silver someone on the june thread calculated that to get enough hormone from sex to equal the amount you get from a pessary, you'd need 40 'deposits' from your DH! we all agreed that this may not be a good plan :o

Commutinghell · 17/05/2012 21:22

I am also panicking about going overdue and being induced. And my midwife has booked me a appointment for when I'm 3 days overdue, saying that I won't have had it by then so it'll be fine! Nooooooo!!!

McKayz · 17/05/2012 21:36

I'm going to join in too. 35 weeks today and I really think I'll be a wreck by 40 weeks. So from 37 weeks I'll be doing everything to get things moving.

sunnybobs · 17/05/2012 21:55

I have 10 days just till due date & then know I can go at least 12 days over before even having to make induction decision and yet I'm still freaking out about it! Even though last time my induction was actually incredibly fine, swift & harmless. I just really want to see if it will start on own. Does anyone else never get Braxton Hicks? I had none last time & none thus time - do you have to experience them to go into labour on own I wonder?! Really thought something was happening today as had some diarrhoea (sorry tmi!) & period like cramping but nothing zilch nada has started of course!

sharond101 · 17/05/2012 22:35

I am pleading with my LO to make an appearance soon. I am 38+3 and suffering terribly with pelvis problems making mobility a huge issue and am in pain all the time. Not so good when frequent loo trips are required, or when you have a year old puppy or when you live on the second floor and are moving house in 6 weeks time!!! Had an appointment yesterday and he is 3/5ths engaged and they did a tracing too which showed lots of silent contractions (?) but I get a feeling he is quite comfortable where he is.

Commutinghell · 17/05/2012 23:18

Oh wow, 3/5 engaged sounds great. Mine is only 1/5. Sad has anybody else been taking evening primrose oil or heard whether it might help? [clutches at straws]

Commutinghell · 17/05/2012 23:25

Oh, and no braxton hicks for me either. Midwife said that didn't mean anything, has anyone else heard differently?

HannahBerry · 18/05/2012 07:28

Hello. I am 40+1 today with my first and only 3/5ths engaged!

Been trying all the usual things but no sign of baby. My hospital won't book a sweep until 40+10!! I do have a private acupuncture session booked though in two days time...

Fingers crossed I have baby this weekend, or hubby will lose some of his paternity leave entitlement. He is a teacher, and as he has to take PL in a two week block, this may be eaten up with his half term. So either baby comes this weekend, or I'll have to try to hold him in for two weeks! No pressure then!

Commutinghell · 18/05/2012 08:27

Ooh fingers crossed for you Hannah, let us know if the acupuncture works! What else are you trying?

SwivelHips · 18/05/2012 08:49

This is my first so I'm no expert, but at my consultant midwife apt he agreed with the rasperry leaf tea theory and he also said hand expressing colustrum from about wk 36 to his knowledge had to reduce their induction rates.
I have a go in the shower most days and a drop comes out so time will tell.

I had the worst day ever yesterday, thought my insides were going to drop out but thankfully back to normal. Might have been a tad constipated Blush just...

SwivelHips · 18/05/2012 08:51

blimey, anyone else lost the ability to write a blinking sentence? gah...

shellywellybaby1 · 18/05/2012 09:24

Hope you don't mind me lurking around for tips - only 35 weeks but think its good to start taking all this in..you know...just in case...

Commutinghell · 18/05/2012 10:17

Great tip about the hand expressing, thanks! I'd heard about nipple stimulation but didn't realise you actually had to hand express. I might give that a go. I'm strangely addicted to raspberry leaf tea, definitely an acquired taste but I have 2-4 cups every day. Hope it helps!

littlemissnormal · 18/05/2012 14:46

Hiya, can I join too??

I'm 41 weeks and counting!!! Really hoping for a normal labour this time as DS and DD were both induced at 42 weeks (so not holding my breath!!!).

I've had reflexology, I'm taking evening primrose and raspberry leaf, massaging bump and burning clary sage and lavender oils but all to no effect!!!!

Am about to start wearing a sign round my neck on the school run saying "yes I'm still here, and no I haven't had any twinges"!!

Loonybun · 18/05/2012 14:53

Hello :)

I'm reading with interest...! I'm 36 weeks and booked in for an elective c section due to birth trauma with dd aged 8... This time I'm having a ds :) ... Pretty nervous about the c section as its all unknown but I'd never have coped knowing I would have to give birth naturally, so c section it is for me!

I'm struggling atm too... Baby is completely engaged, loads of braxtons (esp at night for gods sake!) And I managed to fall over in te middle of the high street this week too - wooo go me!! - hands and knees grazed to bits, baby ok thankfully....

Not long now!! Good luck everyone x

mangomadness · 18/05/2012 17:12

I'm having my first and ready to cry/get angry at the slightest thing! I'm 40+5 according to them (41+5 to me). Had sweep this morning, having cramps etc. Apparently I'm in slooooooooooooow labour as I was 2cm dilated this morning and fully engaged. Told my midwife that I WANT IT OUT NOW!!!!!!! Booked in for another sweep on Sun if this one doesn't work. Feels like I'm wasting my mat leave as I won't get this time back :( have everything ready, freezer stocked up with casseroles etc, nothing to do but sit around and wait. I'm even washing my shoes to kill time.

blondiedollface · 18/05/2012 17:36

Project evict baby under way here. Pineapple, Slimline Indian Tonic, Curry, lots of waddling walking and we even dtd last night... Fingers crossed these contractions will even themselves out and regulate and fully engaged LO will head on out!

DizzyKipper · 18/05/2012 18:31

Yes it's my first vix, though my mum had all her's at either 39 or 40 weeks and MIL had them all at 37, so I'm hoping for genetics to be on my side. Really don't want to have to cope with a 42 week term. Is this your first as well?

sunnybobs I've so far had no BH either - currently 34+5 but they're meant to have started by now aren't they?

Fingers crossed Hannah.

Thanks for the tips SwivelHips, will look into raspberry leaf tea and hand expressing.

mrsshears · 18/05/2012 18:58

can i join in please?
I'm 37+4 and pretty fed up, i have what seem like constant braxton hicks, spd and heartburn.
I also had a growth scan 2 weeks ago and was told the baby was 7lb 7oz then!! I have a consultant apt in a weeks time to discuss possible induction due to size but i'm hoping we might not get to then >>wishful thinking emoction

karatekimmi · 18/05/2012 19:08

Okay, finished work today, 39 wks so eviction plan is well underway!!! Have been taking raspberry leaf tea, using clarysage massage oil, eating pineapple, curries will start soon, DH will be getting lucky, after 20mins of nipple stimulation!! Have googles reflexology points, trying to keep both active, and having lots rest (when not using birthing ball/ walking sofa and feet up!!)

feel free to let me know if I'm missing anything!
Good luck to you all!

Sandydunes · 18/05/2012 19:28

I'm nearly 39 weeks and have an appointment at the hospital in 6 days when they will give me an induction date, which I am keen to avoid this time.

I'm starting to hear baby news from my friends who were all due after me and can feel myself starting to get impatient.

The only benefit to baby not coming this early is that the house is not completely tidy and organised yet, lots of little jobs for me to complete this weekend.

Is everyone else "house-ready" for baby to arrive?

Having a hot chilli for dinner tonight.

TangleStash · 18/05/2012 19:55

I'm 40+5 with my first and a little bit stunned that Mini Tangle is not here yet. The house is clean, the nursery is finished and the freezer is full. I have literally nothing left to do except take the dogs on very long walks and panic my OH every time I call him at work to remind him to pick up milk or some such on the way home. MW tried to do a stretch and sweep yesterday but failed, I've tried acupuncture, the birth ball, raspberry leaf tea and sex and so far only got slight cramping that has gone away within an hour. I have an ultrasound and another attempt at an S&S on Tuesday so fingers crossed.
I want to all I can to avoid a medical induction, but it's starting to look that way (swears loudly).

ellybett · 18/05/2012 22:21

Marking place. 34+6 so still a bit early but I am just feeling too pregnant now! kveta I actually love your loo technique and will be adopting it immediately, I've been getting so cross that the urge to pee hits me as soon as I've flushed, I mean, what??!! If I go out anywhere I have to know where the closest loo is at all times. I'm like an old woman - always looking for a loo and a handy bench!

May possibly have a UTI as had protein in my sample today so MW advice is to drink even more (scary thought) and start necking the cranberry juice. But think its just LO's head enjoying the pillow comfort of my bladder. I'm not exactly ready to face the fun of labour (this is DD2 so am sort of fully aware of the 'truth' about childbirth) but I think I wouldn't mind my body back now!

readyforno2 · 19/05/2012 00:15

Marking my place here too if I may..
36 weeks tomorrow but have been signed of work since march with spd and am so over it now.. Heartburn, no sleep, crazy strong braxton hicks, the list goes on.
Had a growth scan at 32 weeks and baby measured at 4lb 3 so don't want to hang on too much longer.
Ds was born at 37 + 3 (now 5) and consultant thinks I'll go around the same if not a bit earlier, but I have to admit I'm thinking I might be setting myself up for a fall.

SwivelHips · 19/05/2012 08:43

Saw midwife yesterday, I was convinced head would have been further down due to the weird pains I've been having, but no, still only 1/5 or whatever they call it. I have a UTI though so that's the reason for the bloody misery.
I'm impressed by all you ladies having full freezers....what are you putting in there? Is everyone in the world batch cooking except me?
Managed to source raspberry leaf tea yesterday, thankfully its not too bad, and I'm now a woman on a mission. House reeks of it.....
