I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

well I'm still here, shock horror. totally fed up now. Even got up early with DS so I could have some time in the lounge without FIL watching me, and he appeared 5 minutes after we got down here. My friend sent me some suggestions on yoga positions which she believes get her last labour going, was planning to do them whilst DS watches milkshake, but can't now. Angry and the weather is abysmal again, so DH is refusing to go out anywhere and my day of peace is cancelled again. I just want to scream now!

hope some folk have expelled their parasites overnight!

EmilyD2012 · 08/06/2012 07:19

Morning all,

Aww Kveta, poor you. Not having time on your own at the moment is the last thing you need. Weather in Bristol is awful too, so today will be spend indoors, on all fours, again. :(

After a show yesterday nothing has happened this end, had some mild cramping late last night but now nothing - if anything it feels like I'm going backwards. Baby just kicked me in the ribs and I just blurted out "what are you doing up THERE?!!" Not being able to do anything is so frustrating.

Seriously considering Rrrayray's suggestion of a shitty voicemail message on my phone today. My mum called five times yesterday to see if I was in labour. By the time DP came back I was ready to hurl my phone out the window.

Any update from used2b, Rachel or mrshears?

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 07:48

I am still here Sad no more horrible pains just back to the niggley period ones again. Logically I know it can't go on that much longer but I am so fed up with the false alarms. Also feel dreadful with the cold and have been really grumpy towards poor DD, I feel really crowded. DH has been talking about his lie in tomorrow! FGS!

Emily I also am getting stressed when I see the baby up by my ribs and have said well if its not comfortable for you-GET OUT!

Kveta that must be so frustrating-bet FIL felt he had to get up when you were up or something, it must be exhausting having to be polite all the time. How long is he staying?

they need to take DS out, maybe a garden centre with a cafe? you must be so annoyed as that was part of the deal!

Offically due day today.

EmilyD2012 · 08/06/2012 08:00

Glad I'm not the only one stropping at the bump! Watched that episode of Friends where Rachel is late yesterday which made me laugh: "get out, get out, get out!!!"

used2b I didn't realise we had the same due date! :)

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 08:14

Yep today! Weird as didn't get to it last time. Still got niggley period pains and feel rough today. Ugh.

Ha ha forgot about that friends episode, I know how she feels!

EmilyD2012 · 08/06/2012 08:28

Really hope this is the start of something for you used2b!

I strongly feel that nothing remotely exciting will happen here today, the twinges have all but gone and baby feels higher up than he did a couple of days ago.

dairy - any movement your end? I'm quite sure mine is still b2b.

Think I might spend today cooking things to fill the freezer up with. I'm so bored. Keep walking past baby's room and poking my head around the door - it's all ready for him but he's not here, it makes me want to cry and cry. Stupid hormones. :(

Logically it can't be long but I'm feeling like the thought of a third little person being in the house is becoming more abstract with every day that passes...does that make any sense at all??

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 08:37

Thanks emily hope we both have well behaved due day babies! Maybe you are nesting doing cooking! Good idea anyway it will come in handy.

So those of us with these niggley period pains how niggley is niggley? Mine are definately there more today but not contraction like just mildly painful like the day before your period. Then they get worse when I am standing up.

This is completely normal isn't it? Panicking about the strep b thing!

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 08/06/2012 09:12

Morning ladies, I'm on phone do can't remember what everyone has said to reply individually but hope everyone is okay. kveta you have my sympathies, I have mil and fil here too so understand a little bit about not being able to do things you want to in your own house.

I was at triage last night for reduced fetal movements, it took 20 mins of being on the ctg before the little sod woke up, and when he finally did everytime he moved his heart rate went up to 180bpm. Thy said this was normal Confused, I thought it seemed high.
Mw appointment in a couple of hours so going to beg for a sweep, using big baby as one of my excuses! Tbh I think he needs to come out now, he's definitely quietened down movements wise.

OP posts:
used2bthin · 08/06/2012 09:34

good luck hope she is nicer than my midwife! My friend just told me she asked for a sweep every appointment from 38 weeks andher mw did it, just wrote in notes it had been requested so maybe I wasn' t direct enough. Feel like its the start of my period today, constant rather than contractions though.

RachelWalsh · 08/06/2012 09:59

All quiet here, baby is quite happy where he is I think! It's so frustrating all the repeated "ooh is this it?! Nope!"ing if you get what I mean.

I'm also planning a day cooking for the freezer Emily - after my mum went to the supermarket for me yesterday to replace the 100 quids worth of groceries that were trapped in the written off car... I'm going to put the radio on and do lots of bouncy dancing in the kitchen. The hopes it jiggles him back down and gets things moving. I might get the underground a few stops and then walk back too. Probably best not start galloping about the streets on my own!

usedtobe I think you are entirely allowed a grump! Hopefully things will start up again for you.

blueandred when we went to the mat hospital on Wednesday after the crash they put me on ctg and baby boy woke up and started doing his usual aerobics, dh actually draped one of those blue gloves over the heart rate bit because the way it was jumping up really high was freaking me right out, they told me it was normal when they are moving too though. We had to wait for him to settle down a bit before they could get a consistent base line - I had been worried he hadn't been moving after the crash but baby proved me wrong about that in his own I imitable style!

Here's to all of us and here's hoping at least some f us spend part of today squeezing human beings through our cervixes! (cervi? What is the plural of cervix?!)

RachelWalsh · 08/06/2012 10:03

Oh and kveta - poor you - this isn't the time for house guests! We have the plumber here finishing the last couple of things in the bathroom - yes, that's right, our only bathroom. So any time I need (fairly often since I currently have the bladder capacity of a mouse!) I have to ask him to vacate! Timing is everything eh?!

DairyNips · 08/06/2012 11:17

Morning all, naff all happening here. Have baked a rhubarb crumble and a little one for my pils as the rhubarb was from their gardenSmile

Sorry to those getting a cold, last thing you need!

Rachel hope the burrowing is a sign. I feel shoves downwards like he's trying to poke through my cervixConfused but that's just blardy uncomfortable! Sorry about your crash, hope you feel less achy and bruised soon, must have been scary.
usedtobe hope the random contraction type pain reappears! The constant period type pain sounds hopeful, maybe its baby moving down?
kveta sorry you're still here and feeling utterly fed up. 5 minutes alone in the lounge wasn't nearly enough. I think you're gonna have to go with the locking yourself in the cupboard plan after all...
Emily jealous of your show, hope it means something will happen soon. Pretty sure mine is still back to back also despite my effortsSad I just want to relax on the sofa but instead I keep sitting up when I realise I'm slouching and I'm conscious of not rolling on to my back at all at night. I try to sleep on my side anyway but occasionally wake on my back.
blue glad all was ok when baby was monitored. Hope you get your sweep!

Well, I'm sat on my ball again. Hv calling at 12.30 for my pre baby visit. Can't really be arsed with it, don't exactly have a high opinion of hv's and I lost a little faith in this one when she said last time that my 14 wk bfed baby shouldn't be waking for night feedsHmm
Off to make the boys lunch..

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 08/06/2012 11:19

I got my sweep Grin Grin. She had a good rummage too so fingers crossed. Will be back later with a proper update.

JBurge · 08/06/2012 11:36

Hi All

I'm new to this thread and so glad I found it! I'm 39+2 today (first baby) and it sounds like I'm feeling just as fed up as all of you lot!

Not only am I fed up but I'm also confused about what is going on. I'm having very regular Braxton Hicks. I timed them last night for two hours and they were every 8 minutes for about 45 seconds. They don't hurt but they are uncomfortable as they make me breathless. I thought that BH weren't supposed to be regular like this, but surely they can't be the real thing as they aren't progressing and aren't painful. Yesterday I had some period type pains for about 10 minutes but nothing since, and I also had wet knickers, but not wet enough to soak through to my dress. I changed my underwear and put in a pad, but had nothing since!

The weather is driving me mad, for months I have been dreaming of maternity leave, lovely hot weather, nice walks, lunch outside etc! I haven't actually left the house since Sunday!! Plus I've got SPD so walking is really painful anyway!

Sending everyone luck and empathy!

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 13:11

Welcome jburge! Its a long way up the thread but last week I went to hospital to be checked over after some very watery discharge. They found it was just discharge not waters but I was told to do what you have done if it happened again and put on a pad. You could always ring them to get checked though if you are worried. I have had a few watery moments it really feels like wetting myself sometimes!

Blueandred what did you say to get your sweep?! I am really not liking my midwife now, I think she was really mean saying no to me. Glad the monitering went ok-had missed that.

Still got on and off gripey period pains still quite painful but am able to carry on normal activity (albeit slowly). So not sure what thats about maybe it is the ras[berry leaf tea?

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 13:15

dairynips thanks yes hopefully something is going on. It is pretty constant but gets worse as its joined by BH when I stand or walk around. Probably need to go for a walk later.

McKayz · 08/06/2012 13:22

I was thinking of going for a walk about but it is absolutely chucking it down. The sky is black and I haven't seen rain like it before.

Up and down the stairs might have to do.

JBurge · 08/06/2012 13:23

Thanks Used2b I'm pretty sure it is just watery discharge too, will keep an eye on it though.

I'm drinking RL tea and it's def making my BH stronger too!

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 13:25

Thats a good plan Mckayz. Its chucking it down here too. And DD is a bit wild from being stuck in. I want to sleeeeep.

McKayz · 08/06/2012 13:26

My boys have just gone to their Dads for the weekend and this weekend would be ideal for Baby to make her arrival!!

Hint hint!

Idratherbeknitting · 08/06/2012 13:42

Hi all, still here.

We're a sorry bunch at the moment, I think it's the weather. I'll take last week with the swollen ankles and too much bending putting on endless sun cream on small wriggly DD's over pacing up and down with cabin fever in the rain. Not windy here yet. Oh, and being stupidly overdue doesn't do much for my mood.

My achy cramps came to nothing. No more plug. Just same old. Went round Tescos in the hope my waters would go dramatically, but other than one awful pain (grindy head feeling but sharp), nothing.

Hope someone else is having more luck than me just now. I'm resigned to the induction on Monday now. Bugger. I so wanted this one to go like DD3 (totally spontaneus and super quick, and only 40+2).

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 13:43

My DD stayed at her dad's last weekend and I thought my body would decide it was a good time! But at least the rest was good. Hopefully you will have more luck though.

I am off to a wedding tomorrow! Only the afternoon reception and its fairly informal so I will just go for a few hours, DH can chase DD around and lots of my friends will be there. If this pain stops taht is, it is still most definately there but still not enough to make me think this is it. Grr.

What on earth am I going to wear to this wedding?!

McKayz · 08/06/2012 13:51

Ding Dong!!!

Ses has a live birth thread here

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 13:56

Ooh!

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 08/06/2012 14:13

used I just asked her, said I was fed up and that I'd had irregular contractions and that he was predicted to be big and would she mind having a go. She said as long as my checks were normal she'd do one for me, it was borderline for a bit as my BP was up when I went in but she took it a second time and it had settled. My urine was showing signs of UTI but I don;t have any symptoms so she disregarded that as being anything to worry about.

She managed to have a good swoosh around and said my cervix was nice and low and central and that she could feel baby's head Shock.

Welcome anyway JBurge, we are all a lovely bunch of moany ladies Grin.

Yay for SES heres hoping we have baby news soon.

Rachel thanks for the reassurance-its nice to know someone else has been through the same, I couldnt see the monitor but DH was reading it out to me, I could tell his heart rate was getting fast though.
