I was going to join the other one but those luck ladies have had thier babies and are now talking all things newborn Envy.

So join me if you are fat and getting somewhat fed up!

I am 36+4 and a scan on Monday showed that DS is already weighing around 7lb 3 Shock. For that reason alone I'm hoping he puts in an appearance soon. Previous DC's have been 40+1, 39 and 39 and 7lb6, 8lb13 and 8lb12.5 so not so sure why this one is estimated to be so big!

Dairy I feel your pain re positions; I slept badly last night mainly because I was desperately trying to avoid rolling onto my back. Have been on my feet all day and am now typing this on all fours. Still getting plenty of jabs at the front though, so I don't think it's working. Any progress your end?

Great news about the sweep BlueAndRed - keep us posted!! Keeping everything crossed for you here

How's the cooking, RachelWalsh? I've made two cottage pies and a lasagne for the freezer, feel quite proud of myself now!

Welcome JBurge. Know what you mean about wasting maternity leave indoors, I was sort of hoping for a bit of a tan before labour, no such luck! Hope things start moving for you soon.

Idratherbe - loving your thinking re Tesco - is it still true that you get free stuff if your waters go in Mothercare? Or is that one of those urban myths?

Any update used2b?!

Nothing going on here, cramps have all but disappeared, no more show, nuffink :(

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 15:07

she's better than mine blueandred, so mean she wouldn't do it till next thurs, am tempted to try at the drop in clinic on tues with a different one but not sure if they would since its not a proper appointment.

I'dratherbe yes the weather isn't helping our moods I don't think-so unfair in the holidays and anything indoors is too packed to go to and enjoy.

Emily my cramps may be getting worse am not sure. Thye are still pretty nothingy but I have come to bed for a lie down to see if they tail off and they seem a little bit worse. Still not seperate cramps though just that pre period constant dull ache. No show though. Not sure if its something or nothing.

Also struggling not to roll onto my back at night keep waking up there.

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 15:08

any word from mrshears?

RachelWalsh · 08/06/2012 15:11

Hello all, just back from a LOOOOOONG walk (45 minutes?) now eating a load of pineapple! Hahahaahhaaha - ever hopeful! Probably just end up KNACKERED with terrible indigestion!

Definite increase in mucus but we shall see...

Off for a squizz at SES thread!!!

McKayz · 08/06/2012 15:56

Ow ow ow ow ow!!! I've got loads of pains down below. Especially if I walk. Owwww

JBurge · 08/06/2012 16:08

What kind of pain? Cramps of sharp pains?

I've been getting sharp stabbing pains in my cervix off and on for a few weeks, especially when I walk. Hoping it means cervix is effacing or maybe even dilating! Who knows!!

McKayz · 08/06/2012 16:10

Its like sharp pains. It is what I imagine sticking a knitting needle up there would feel like Grin

JBurge · 08/06/2012 16:13

Yeah that's what I get, I think it is the cervix!

EmilyD2012 · 08/06/2012 16:57

Have had exactly the same pain on and off for the last few weeks - I'm also hoping it's the cervix doing what it should be doing!

Kveta · 08/06/2012 17:01

same pains here, but no sign of any baby...

just tried galloping, but have obv done something to my back so am now back on the sofa trying not to cry!

EmilyD2012 · 08/06/2012 17:11

Aw Kveta :( Heat pads for the back maybe?

RachelWalsh · 08/06/2012 17:45

Ah, the shooting fanjo pains. I know them well, although all quiet on that front here.

Doesn't feel like anything is happening here now. Ah well.

Lucietea · 08/06/2012 18:03

I went for some accupuncture this afternoon.. Absolutely nothing yet but I'll leave it a few hours at least! It was very relaxing and you never know..
The weird thing for me is that at over 41 weeks the symptoms I had a week ago have all but gone. Not even getting mucus or ' clearing out' at the toilet. I used to get loads of sharp shooting pains but now I don't get them that often. Midwife said my cervix was closed yesterday. It's so weird I'm going backwards!
What is this galloping you mention? Is it pretending to gallop around the garden? Sounds fun. Oh, and I tried to find a bouncy ball to bounce on but my local sports shop only had small ones and I want a big ger one I think. Anyone using a bouncy ball?

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 08/06/2012 18:07

After a little advice ladies. Last night after the CTG the MW told me to monitor his movements over the next 24 hours and to call if anymore concerns. He's still very quiet, there have been movements-but very few and not particularly big movements. Should I call again? Or is this just normal pre-labour slowing down?

OP posts:
used2bthin · 08/06/2012 18:12

It probably is normal pre labour slowing down-my midwife said its normal for movements to feel slower but if I were you I would probably call the assessment unit and let them decide. If only to put your mind at rest.

Still got pains and they are more seperate than the dull ache earlier but fully expect them to tail off as they always do (and a bit scared now!)

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 18:13

should add she said what I described re slower movements sounded normal-she also said it should still be ten a day.

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 21:21

anyone around?blue how are you doing did you go off to get checked?
Still got pains and now they are definate pains seperate to the ache but not regular or long enough to count I don't think.

And the baby is confusing matters by twisting about in there, so surely there wouldnt be so much chagning position if she was trying to get out?

StarlightMaJesty · 08/06/2012 21:51

Yes. I'm having eye watering BH all in my bottom.

Yuck!

BlueAndRedMakePurple · 08/06/2012 22:09

Quick update, I went in for monitoring and they have admitted me for induction. Looks like I'll have to wait till tomoro for it to happen though as they are jam packed busy Sad.

OP posts:
used2bthin · 08/06/2012 22:11

Oh no! definately BH?

I am not sure what to do. Still having pains which were every 8 ish mins at one point but manageable, now they intensify enough to make me panic every now and then but the pai is like a constant tight band round my back.

really wanted to be home as long as poss and because of the strep b the hospital would get me to come in now I think. What to do?

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 22:12

ooh blueandred good luck! Hope everything goes smoothly, my friend was recently told next day and was 2am so you never know.

McKayz · 08/06/2012 22:16

Thinking of you Blue. Hope it all goes well!

Star, are they just BHs or could it be the real thing?

I feel really crappy but all earlier signs have now gone.

EmilyD2012 · 08/06/2012 22:24

Best of luck BlueAndRed - keep us posted if you can x

used2b - how are you feeling now? Hoping all is ok and the pain is manageable. My little one is twisting and turning a lot tonight as well, which is making me think he's not coming this evening despite tightenings about an hour ago. Ho hum.

Same here McKayz, massive disappointment. I thought after the show etc we'd be on our way but it seems they're hanging in there a bit longer :(

used2bthin · 08/06/2012 22:32

I just got up thinking better get timing them and they are all over the place, 8 mins, then 11 then 3?! Some real shockers but mostly ok for now and not sure if they are it or not! One more bad one and I will ring for advice I think. Baby hicupping and been moving so don't know that that means things arent happening, hopefully for you too emily!

DairyNips · 08/06/2012 22:37

used2be sounds very promising. I'd ring for advice soon if I were you if they want you in early due to the group b.. Fingers crossed for youSmile
