I had a mmc in December, went for a scan at almost 14wks and there was no heartbeat, it was utterly heartbreaking.

Had an erpc and got back to ttc after christmas.

Got a BFP on friday, for 5minutes i was so happy my face hurt from smiling then fear hit me straight in the face, and I've felt uneasy since.

I'm achey/dull cramps at the bottom of my stomach/around my previous c-section scars, which i remember from being pregnant with dd, and now I've 2 scars, my youngest is 3.5yo.

However this terrifies me, I've always had horrendous nausea with pregnancy, and this time, its mild, occasional sick feeling.

I know im obsessing and reading into everything, theres no reason for this pregnancy not to be sucessful but i cant relax.

Anyone else been there who can reasure me, or even if you've not and had similar symptoms.

Thanks.

I just don't think I will sleep tonight. Anxious about tomorrow. Trying to take my own advice, expect the worst and hope for the best. wellies how are you doing?

WL i totally understand the reservation about taking DD along, though I think they soon get over it. A friend had a still born baby, and their oldest (i think aged about 7) wanted to meet her. Though the older child remembers the baby they have no recollection of the parents' emotions at the time. Our kids are really resilient.

Another hour for me. Fingers crossed x

Good luck Wellies, thinking of you (hugs)

mrscupcake · 18/05/2012 10:06

Thanks State, my boobs are getting progressively sorer/heavier/sensitive, I also have a stuffed up nose (could that be pregnancy related?), and yesterday went out leaving my doorkeys in the door, unlocked, then his morning forgot to take Ds's book bag to school, although I did remember to take him and his packed lunch, and locked the door behind me! :o

Am hoping these are all signs of a growning bean!

6 days to find out

bonzo77 · 18/05/2012 10:07

Small update. Had to have vaginal scan, but it showed Little bean has a heart beat, is in the right place and measures 6+6 which is close enough to my estimate of 7 weeks not to worry. Yay! Thinking of you right now wellies.

mrscupcake · 18/05/2012 10:23

Fabulous news Bonzo! You must feel so relieved and happy, I'm really pleased for you

xx

welliesandpyjamas · 18/05/2012 12:30

All good :) Everything that they could see was fine. Baby was all curled up in such a cute baby way facing downwards though so they couldn't complete the scan and I have to go back in two weeks. I don't mind having another look at baby then and I'd like to bring DS1 (8) with me, he'd love that :)

And they couldn't tell properly because of the position but they thought maybe it's a girl :)

Glad yours went well bonzo :)

bonzo77 · 18/05/2012 13:16

mrscupcake I do think a stuffy nose is something you get in pregnancy. I've had it on and off, definitely had it last time (not such a good omen, as we all know what happened with that), and I've read it elsewhere. If nothing else your immune system is a bit depressed while pregnant, so one is more prone to getting things. I definitely think that pregnancy at least allows if not actually causes increased levels of distraction, if not actual ineptitude.

wellies that's fab news, and an extra chance to have a look at baby. I suspect as DS was so small I might get extra growth scans this time, so maybe I'll get extra viewings too!

Weirdly my GP just called to see how the scan went! I think also to check that I'd completed a self referral to the hospital for antenatal care, as I guess some women say they will and then don't get round to it in time. Ironic as last time I saw her I thought her bedside manner was not as great as it usually was!

WLmum · 18/05/2012 13:46

Great news bonzo and wellies

WLmum · 18/05/2012 13:49

Stuffy nose is def pg symptom, I think it's the progesterone that causes a bit of nasal swelling. Nosebleeds common too due to increasing blood supply through tiny vessels.

welliesandpyjamas · 18/05/2012 14:03

Stuffy nose - yes
Nosebleeds - yes
Snoring - yes

WLmum · 18/05/2012 14:14

I have a scan apt for tues am (will be coming up 9 weeks). Drs reception and scan dept were actually v helpful (makes a lovely change). Dr google says its common for symptoms to cone ans go and not necessarily a sign of impending doom Fingers crossed.

StateofConfusion · 18/05/2012 14:37

Great news bonzo and wellies Grin so wonderful to hear sucess stories.

cupcake I've had a cold since 6wks, tis annoying, stuffy nose, blocked nose, runny nose, argh! But yes the boobs get worse daily it seems!

Good luck tuesday WL will cross everything for you!

I'm 10weeks today, symptoms stronger, 1 week 5days until the scan!!!

Fab news on the scans!! So happy for you Bonzo and Wellies

I chuffin' love this thread.

mrscupcake · 18/05/2012 16:51

Good luck for Tuesday WL, glad to hear they were nice to you (makes such a difference a little bit of niceness doesn't it?!).

I too have visited Dr Google today, at length, and have a possible 3rd diagnosis - a tilted womb, which apparently makes baby and heartbeat very hard to find in the sac even with a vaginal scan, and would tie up with some other symptoms I have or have had (probably tmi to share on here). So I now have two positive possibilities to cling on to - wrong dates or tilted womb, versus the one negative one, which are odds I feel happy with for today.

StateofConfusion · 18/05/2012 16:57

Glad google is being your friend cupcake there are plenty of reasons and possibilitys that can result in a healthy pregnancy after no HB at your last scan, and just one that we don't want, the odds are good. :)

OP posts:
welliesandpyjamas · 18/05/2012 18:21

mrscupcake yes, yes, tilted womb! I have that and at one scan in particular (think it was the post mmc one) they struggled for aaaaages to find it with the vaginal scan. They kept muttering to each other too and I naturally starting thinking something awful was wrong!

mrscupcake · 18/05/2012 18:45

Thanks wellies and state, how did you find out you have a tilted womb wellies - was it at that scan? I just have a sneaky feeling that I may have one.

Just found out a friend who was told she couldn't ever have children is 10 weeks pregnant. So pleased for her, but haven't told her my news as don't want to worry her.

I love this thread too noclue!

StateofConfusion · 18/05/2012 18:48

I think now this threads flowing and we have a rew regulars we should consider a stats thread,

For example;

State, ds 4yo dd 3yo, MMC at 14wks followed by ERPC 12th DEC. TTC 3mnths. BFP 20th April. Scan 30th may. EDD 13/12/12

Just helps with keeping up which each one of our journeys xx

Hi girls how's things ? posted loads on here but they never seem to post very frustrating.

Hope everything is ok xx

mrscupcake · 18/05/2012 19:16

Sounds like a good idea state:

Cupcake, TOP at 14wks (heartbreaking - very unwell baby not likely to make full term) 9th May 2006, ds 5yo, mmc at 11wks 3 days followed by ERPC 22nd June 2011. TTC 4mnths. BFP 24th April, first scan 14th May no hb, next scan 24th May. EDD somewhere between 31/12/12 and 10/01/13.

Do we post this on a another thread linked to this one?

mrscupcake · 18/05/2012 19:17

Hi Swansea, wondered where you'd got to, how is everything?

x

StateofConfusion · 18/05/2012 19:18

Evening swansea not to bad here had a few twinges today but feeling sick/upset stomach too so it could be that. I find it so hard working out where I should worry about aches and where I shouldn't.

Not helped that I was laying on my front on my bed this evening and dp climbed onto the bed and squished me a bit and I felt my stomach bump the bed, scared me a lot.
