I had a mmc in December, went for a scan at almost 14wks and there was no heartbeat, it was utterly heartbreaking.

Had an erpc and got back to ttc after christmas.

Got a BFP on friday, for 5minutes i was so happy my face hurt from smiling then fear hit me straight in the face, and I've felt uneasy since.

I'm achey/dull cramps at the bottom of my stomach/around my previous c-section scars, which i remember from being pregnant with dd, and now I've 2 scars, my youngest is 3.5yo.

However this terrifies me, I've always had horrendous nausea with pregnancy, and this time, its mild, occasional sick feeling.

I know im obsessing and reading into everything, theres no reason for this pregnancy not to be sucessful but i cant relax.

Anyone else been there who can reasure me, or even if you've not and had similar symptoms.

Thanks.

mrscupcake I think I'm 6+1 today. I had a scan booked for Tuesday (6+4) but have moved it to Friday (7 exactly) as mum can have DS, DH can come with and at 7 weeks one is even more likely to see a HB that at 6+4 (when it's almost guaranteed anyway, assuming all is well). Yes, like you, more nervous than excited.

If I were not pg I would assume AF was on her way. I came so close to going to EPU yesterday as the pain was so bad on Thursday night, but the thought of sitting there waiting with DS, and knowing that whatever they saw wouldn't change anything, and that they might not be able to see enough to reassure me even if it was all Ok, stopped me.

With DS I has mild MS probably from about 4 weeks, though was never sure of dates as had just come off pill. Got worse, probably because I knew what it was, after I actually POAS at about 6/7 weeks.

With the mc pg I had mild nausea from about 6 weeks, but only lasted about 2 weeks.

This time round I had nausea from 9 DPO, so about 3 and a half weeks, though I ovulated on day 16, not 14. I POAS and got BFP the following day, 10 DPO, 2 days before AF due.

bonzo77 · 12/05/2012 14:22

state that's reassuring. Even Dr google didn't have anything massively ominous to say on the subject. I def had cramps with DS because I remember at the time I thought AF was on her way.

Def having dizziness and shakes here. chocolate helps, until it makes me feel sick!

No dreams here yet, but probably not sleeping well enough to dream!

itdoesnthurttohavemanners · 12/05/2012 18:04

Soo....had our scan today and everything went fantastically well :D Baby was lively as anything, moving about lots, waving at us! Sonography was great, and said everything's looking great.

Only thing we weren't expecting is that according to my last cycle date, I'm 12 weeks 12 weeks 6 days...but the scan says 13 weeks 6 days!!! As in, according to the measurements they've taken. So god knows what the due date is!

Anyway, just wanted to share the good news, we are SOO SOO happy and SOOO relieved :D xxx

WLmum · 12/05/2012 18:28

Fantastic news itdoesnthurt that means you're well past that magic 12 week milestone. Hopefully now you can start to relax and enjoy the pg more.

For me, odd discovery today...leaky boobs! After releasing the enormous beasts from getting painful bra I had to give them a but of a sort out as they were all squashed and then discovered that with a little encouragement they both gave out a drop of milk (ish stuff). Am assuming that is a positive sign of raging hormones. Any one else got this?

With regards to ms, with dc1 I had virtually none just went off quite a lot of foods. With dc2 I did have noticeable ms but I can't remember from when. With mc and mmc I don't think I had any really. This time I feel mostly like I did with dc1.

WLmum · 12/05/2012 18:30

Other main symptom that I def had with dc 1+2 is that I'm cold most if the time. Again I take this as a positive sign that my body is putting all it's energy into baby and placenta.

WLmum · 12/05/2012 18:38

bonzo sorry to hear you've been in such pain that really must have terribly worrying. It does sound like something you should get checked out but I totally understand the need to balance that with coordinating DH and dcs. Hope it was just a big dose of trapped wind!

mrscupcake · 12/05/2012 21:06

Hi and congratulations itdoesn'thurt that's fabulous news!

I've just logged in to say I'm really having the "heeby jeebies" about my scan on Monday now, panic is starting to set in, although my boobs are hurting so that is something positive to focus on.

State - I think the dizziness/shakes is quite usual, I find if I go too long between eating I feel like that (normally I just get snappy!). I had a not too explicit (but enough) dream that Simon Cowell was trying to woo me, don't think there would really be much attraction either way in real life, but the dream was very convincing!

WL - I checked my boobs for milk this morning when I showered as I thought it would be a good sign if there was any (there wasn't), so have milk envy!

Bonzo - are you still having cramps? It could be the ligaments stretching, especially if your mc was fairly recent. Sending you a hand to hold.

I wish this was more simple for all of us!

x

Fantastic news itdoesnthurt Grin its really lovely to get sucess stories.

I'm worrying today because I'm feeling ok, boobs still hurt though! 9+2 now, and I'm hoping begging and praying this wee bean is fighting fit.

bonzo77 · 13/05/2012 13:23

itdoesnthurt that's fab news. Not only is bean fit and well, but you have one week less of worry ahead of you!

mrscupcake heebeegeebies sounds about right, I can feel the panic building whenever I think about my impending doom scan. Fingers crossed for you...

Pains not so bad last night. Surely 6 weeks is early for actual womb stretching, but who knows. My erpc was 5th Jan, so my body has had 4 months to get over it. TBH, DH was away last night and I slept really well without his restless sleeping and generally being irritating. DS also slept til 8am, which is good, so I feel rested and relaxed, which might have something to do with the lack of cramps.

So talking of dreams, I seemed to have loads last night. There was a rude one which I cannot really remember details of, actually I cannot remember anything now, but they did happen!

state hoping and praying with and for you... I'm sure your normal symptoms will be back with avengence before you know it.

welliesandpyjamas · 13/05/2012 14:02

itdoesnthurt very pleased for you! It's such a lovely, highly emotional, feeling to see baby on the scan :)

mrscupcake lol at milk envy! (Although the lack of milk now has me frettting in the background too now! Typical! Mine came in really early with the boys so where is it now??Grin Maybe it just means it's going to be a girl clutching at straws)

I've had the most horrid cold for a couple of days. Really draining. I can't claim it's flu but my god I've felt weak enough! Wish I'd taken up my GP's offer of a flu jab now. And TMI ALERT I had the weirdest bright yellow snot this morning when I blew my nose so you can just imagine the speed at which my panicky mind went: yellow snot>>> infection>>>problem for baby>>>can't take antibiotics>>>disaster!!! Luckily Dr Google reasssured me that whilstnit could be an infection and other dreadful things, it is most likely just part of the cold developing. Phew!

welliesandpyjamas · 13/05/2012 14:04

On the plus side, only five more sleeps til Scan Day! :)

bonzo77 · 13/05/2012 14:14

wellies does that mean we are scan buddies? Mine is 9.20 on Friday.

welliesandpyjamas · 13/05/2012 14:24

Yes! We are! Mine is 10.30 :)

Would be so spooky/funny if it was in the same hospital!

StateofConfusion · 13/05/2012 14:35

I've had a rotten cold too, aparently stuffy noses etc are pg symptoms I feel exhausted and mild waves of nausea!

OP posts:
bonzo77 · 13/05/2012 14:39

which hospital is yours? Mine is at Barnet, though having rest of antenatal care at whittington (long story)

welliesandpyjamas · 13/05/2012 15:09

Ah, no, I'm a long way from there, in Cardiff :) Never mind, will think of you and see you back on the thread dor an update afterwards :)

Horray for stuffy noses, stateof!

itdoesnthurttohavemanners · 13/05/2012 17:32

thanks everyone :D Still buzzing today LOL! Good luck for those of you having scans this week :D

StateofConfusion · 13/05/2012 18:20

This Bean must be doing ok, its sucking all my energy and causing naps daily despite good nights sleep.

Just woke up, dp has taken dc to the park but now that niggly headaches back that I've had on and off since 8 wks, no pain just annoying!

OP posts:
mrscupcake · 13/05/2012 19:22

Wow Bonzo - I was born in Barnet (was actually Victoria Maternity Unit back in the day), and had my tonsils out at the Whittington - miles away from either of those hospitals now though.

I have 14 hours to my scan - suffering with mild hysteria now, hoping for more than ten minutes sleep tonight. At least this time tomorrow I'll know a little bit more. Just don't feel pregnant today (although boobs are still sore- they actually hurt when I got into bed last night - hooray!!!).

I would love to feel sick/nauseous, and not just because I've had too much dinner.

Wellies & State I've had a cold all week, just got a horrible cough now, am resisting checking with Dr Google just in case it has some tenuous link to pregnancy!

I'm trying to stay positive - hoping for a heartbeat in the morning.

mrscupcake · 13/05/2012 19:29

Ok, so have the willpower of gnat, have googled cough and pregnancy. Good news for all ladies - immune system is much lower in pregnancy to protect the baby so we are likely to come down with all sorts of coughs and colds - yay!!

Going back to my corner to continue hysterical panicking.

WLmum · 13/05/2012 19:35

Sorry to have caused milk envy! When i was expecting dc2 my boobs hardly changed and I didn't leak any milk even right before she was born and after when I was feeding her. I was told that's quite normal cos your boobs have had some practice and are now better are timing!

I've been feeling quite weak and wobbly today, I know some of you guys have had this too. I guess it's just our bodies diverting energies elsewhere and telling us we need to rest.
wellies and bonzo am I right in thinking these are early scans? I know you will have said earlier on the thread but it's too much effort on my phone to scroll through it all! I'm seeing my gp on wed to officially report pg and get in the system, I'm really hoping she can swing an early scan for fri (8.5 weeks) but I doubt a referral could be that quick.

welliesandpyjamas · 13/05/2012 19:50

mrscupcake thanks for googling how weak and helpless we are Wink It explains why no one else in this house got it so bad!

Now, relax, breathe deeply, sweet camomile tea before bed :)

WL mine's a 20 week scan, and I think Bonzo's is an early scan (6+ish weeks iirc?)

stateof every time I've been pregnant my eyesight goes bad, which is apparently quite common (something to do with hormones and the softening of somethingorother). I had my eyes lasered between my first two pregnancies so I know for sure that my eyesight got worse im subsequent pregnancies. Anyway, without waffling on, this time I was getting headaches and my distance vision got quite bad again so went to optician's and needed glasses (hopefully just for the pregnancy again). Might be worth getting your eyes checked?

bonzo77 · 13/05/2012 20:14

wl I'll be 7 weeks on my scan day. Was just musing to DH that I'm probably already further along than I got with the mmc. There was no fetal pole then, so probably ended by 5 and a half weeks. My gp faxed the referral to Epu, and they called me a couple of days later, by which point I was 4+6, and there was no shortage of appointments, though I didn't want one before 7 weeks anyway. Can you get one done privately if your Epu can't get you in?

bonzo77 · 13/05/2012 20:17

Oh and cupcake, in case I'm not back here before your scan.... Thinking of you and hoping so so much all is well.

mrscupcake · 13/05/2012 20:20

WL, my GP phoned the EPU on Thursday when I saw her and they gave me Monday at 9am, so you may get an early scan for Friday.
