How late was your period when you got a positive pregnancy test result?

Hello ladies! I hope you don't mind me visiting you when I'm not pregnant. Well actually, I'm not sure whether I am or not! My period is late but I have had a negative pregnancy test.

So I am wondering if this is normal? Could you please share your experiences with me? How many days late was your period when you tested positive and did you test earlier and get a negative result beforehand?

DH and I had unprotected sex on day 18 of my cycle and today is day 31 of what is normally a 29 day cycle.

For my first pregnancy I tested quite late and had a positive result straight away -- none of this waiting in limbo!

I kind of got mine by default. Two or three days before AF was due, I was getting cramps and was all grumpy about it. So I wanted to know for sure at that moment instead of a few more days of misplaced hope. So I took a test, then another, then another - 7 or 8 BFPs later, I accepted AF wasn't coming!

But - sorry, forgot to mention, and I don't know if this holds any scientific weight. But the month before I was convinced I was pregnant, and my cycle was the longest I've ever had it at 34 days.

Most tests now will pick up a positive result up to 4 days before your period is due. Did you test using FMU- your first wee of the day? This is when the HCG hormone is at its strongest.

If you period hasn't arrived by Monday I would test again.

A week. My periods were like clockwork, so when I was a week late I suspected that I might be pregnant. A pregnancy test confirmed that this was indeed the case.

Three hours on both.

My period was due that day, I am always very regular. I tested on the first wee of the day (at 6 a.m. - I was awake early because I had 'a feeling' and was excited).

Aworryingtrend, I did you my morning urine but I also weed when I got up with my 2yo in the night.

I think I'll test again Monday.

34 days will kill me! It's the not knowing that gets me!!!

2 days before AF, but NEVER on a FRER, in fact, that said negative even on tye day my period was due. Clearblue digital always works for me early.

Well..with DS 1 I tested the day I was late and got a positive..with this one, now 31 weeks, I was testing negative until I was a week late, I tried all the first response and clearblue. They wouldn't pick it up then I gave up and tried tesco brand...read it.

Clear blue digital - two days before period due.

DC1 - didnt get a positive until I was 8 days late! Did loads of Clearblue tests, all negative...but I knew I was pregnant. I felt spaced out and everything tasted funny. Finnaly got a positive using a predictor.

Second pregnancy - got a positive day my period was due on a Sainsbirys own brand test, but had a miscarriage.

DC2 - Didnt occur to me I was pregnant until I had to pull over onto the hard shoulder to be violently sick. Tested the next morning (4 days late) using a Clearblue and was pregnant!

I think I was almost a month overdue. oops. xx

DD - 1 day late.
DC2 - day period was expected.

Both on super cheap tests, nothing fancy for me.

I got my BFP on the day my period was due (in the afternoon) with a Tesco own-brand test.

As with all my pregnancies I was two weeks late befor I got a positive result. Had lots of negative results but knew I was pregnant,as my periods are 28 day cycle,very regular.
So I was 5 weeks each time when I got positive result.

DS1 - 9dpo, 5days before period was due. This pg - tested the day period was due after a 9pm run to sainsbury's for a test. Mostly because I wanted to open the bottle of wine in the fridge and whilst putting DS to bed suddenly thought I had absolutely no signs of my period being imminent.

With DS1 tested with an Internet cheapie ( v sensitive) and confirmed with a number of leading brands (as you do). This pg -sainsbury's own in the evening, confirmed with a digital the next day.

Tested positive on Day 36 of the cycle, almost sure I conceived on Day 16. Had only been off the pill for 3 cycles, which had lasted 20 (first cycle off so not reliable) 32 and 27 days. I had had what I took to be PMT and now realise must have been early pregnancy symptoms for nearly 2 weeks. Sore breasts and back cramps. Used a Boots own brand test, I think. It was fairly faint, but this was middle of the day urine.

I got four negative tests in the week leading up to AF, then tested positive at 5 a.m. the day AF was due (day 29). The tests were Internet cheapies, but they were supposed to be extra-sensitive.

Tested the day after AF due, got BFN but had over active sense of smell... Tested again 5 days later and the very faint line I got turned into the 2.2yo DD currently snoozing upstairs

I had terrible sickness and no period for ages. Did 3 home pregnancy tests and they were neg.

Went to the dr, did a test, that was negative too.

Still no period.

When I got a positive result I was about 10 weeks pregnant! Don't know how all the tests missed it!

Boys - You've made me nervous! I'm over a month late and have been getting negative tests...
