How late was your period when you got a positive pregnancy test result?

Hello ladies! I hope you don't mind me visiting you when I'm not pregnant. Well actually, I'm not sure whether I am or not! My period is late but I have had a negative pregnancy test.

So I am wondering if this is normal? Could you please share your experiences with me? How many days late was your period when you tested positive and did you test earlier and get a negative result beforehand?

DH and I had unprotected sex on day 18 of my cycle and today is day 31 of what is normally a 29 day cycle.

For my first pregnancy I tested quite late and had a positive result straight away -- none of this waiting in limbo!

I never expected such a big range test results and it has given me a little hope that may be I'm pregnant. I would love to be in the club :) But I won't get my hopes up as we've only just started trying.

Right, off to bed now as I'm shattered.

Did my first test on friday, it came out positive as I was still peeing on the damned thing. I was so shocked I dropped it down the loo.
Last period was middle of December and I honestly didn't think I was pregnant as I've been maaaajorly premenstrual since the middle of January with a bit of spotting. I didn't realise that was a sign of pregnancy . I've had missed periods before with feeling PMSy all the way through with no chance of pregnancy so I guessed it was my body adjusting to coming off the pill.

So I did the baby calculator thing and I think I'm about 9 weeks, I'm scared of going to the GP as it seems to be everyone goes there about 4-5 weeks. I'm going to feel like such a fool.
I still feel all crampy and sweaty and tearful, as though I'm going to come on at any moment.
I still haven't told anyone yet

I've had all my BFPs before my period was due, usually around 4 days before 10-11 daps post ovulation. 6 pregnancies, although 2 miscarried.

I tested the day before I was due or on the day I was due, and got a positive both times.

You really need to get to the doctor to get yourself into the system ASAP. If your estimate is right, you'll be due your 12 week scan shortly (my hospital actually does them closer to 10 weeks) so don't delay much longer.

I got two very very faint positives day 40 and 45 then a negative day 46 with first morning sample. Have had spotting since day 20 and a little bit more than the odd spot first thing in the morning on days 43,44,45. I'm waiting on a blood test result Monday FX! Usual cycle is between 26 and 32 days - I'm now on day 50!!!

I tested BFN on days 32 and 38, before getting my BFP on CD44!

AF was due on the Thursday/Friday & I realised I was late on the Saturday afternoon (no spotting by that point - I had had a busy month so I was ignoring a couple of days). Did 2 Boots cheap tests on Monday lunchtime (was determined to leave it a week, but caved on my lunch break), & 1 had a very, very faint line and 1 was blank. Got a twin pack of Boots normal tests the next day and did the first one around 3am on the Wednesday morning after I woke up needing a wee - BFP! So about 5-6 days after AF due, although it might have been 3-4 days if the first test had been clearer.

I was 1 day late. Was due Christmas day, POAS boxing day tea time, positive band was up before the test has worked strip was up! Both as dark as each other.

I was a day before my AF was due. I felt like a bag of shit. I took a test as if it wasnt pregnancy, i'd have been getting myself to the docs sharpish. Boots own brand £3 jobby, BFP.

Oh, and no implantation bleeding for me, either, so dont take that as a guarantee

Purplecatti please don't be embarrassed about not knowing. Your gp won't laugh at you or think you're a fool but you do want to go and get your scan booked. Congratulations :-)

I'm going to hold off poas now until I'm over a week late. My grumpy toddler should take my mind of it.

BFN blood tests after faint positive POAS tests so guess this just wasn't my time. Waiting on AF now I suppose so I can crack on with SWI. Still spotting.

There may still be time for a 2012 baby bug but maybe 2013 will be my year

I have been in a terrible mood since last night but that's lifting so maybe AF is on its way and I can try again. Plus surely MC is also a reassurance that DP and I can conceive.

Feeling positive

I tested 2 days before and got negative (was an old test, 6 months out of date and not morning wee), now 2 days late and finger crossed. Tests coming later with home shopping.
Last time I did it on the day, and got positive so that was fine.
This time, I lost my coil recently, had one period and now waiting to see, so may just be late with hormone unbalance ect, but really hoping. I feel pg, but could so easily be psycological! Never had too much morning sickness before, but feeling really bad this time. =/

I was more than 2 weeks late.
I was offered a blood test due to faint positives since days 40 - 50 and spot bleeding and a few clots (sorry if TMI). It was to assess my HCG level and see if it was increasing/decreasing or stating the same. They were taken 48 hours apart and both came back negative.

Hi Piggybank. I was three weeks late when i finally got a positive result, all the other tests (about 6) I had done (Clearblue, serious customer satisfaction complaint!) in that space of time came up negative. I'd been telling my partner for weeks I knew I was pregnant- I never get heartburn!!!

my husband and I have been 'trying' for 7 months. I ended up going to the docs for some support - she told me to stop tracking my bbt and doing OV tests, have fin, relax and have plenty of sex. That was last monthy and it really helped.
I use two apps to diaris my periods, one said I was due the weekend before last and the other last weekend (now monday) - I did a test saturday which was negative so I ended up getting drunk! I'm still not on and now worried I might be... I dont know how long to give it.
I feel like I'm ovulating and producing discharge, my boobs are big and sensitive and I am a little nausious occationally but never enough to stop eating or be sick.

This time I got a positive on cd30 of an approx 30 day cycle, just used a pound shop pink handle cheap test. However, just like a poster further up - the month before I was convinced I was preg as got to cd37 but was negative - period came the next day.

I didn't get a positive that I felt was strong enough to believe until day 35/6, there was a very faint one on a first response on day 33 but DH said I shouldn't get my hopes up! I actually felt pregnant from day 22/23! Dating scans initially put my back implying I'd ovulated a week later than I thought, but by 12 weeks I'm back on track to my original dates! ( I also normally have a 28/29 day cycle)

I was 10 days late when I got a faint line on a boots test then I waited another 4 days and did a digital test and this showed positive

Hi I was just wondering if anybody might be able to help me... I am ttc and now on month 3, I have kept busy over ovulation and my 'fertile window' I have had small signed that I might be pregnant such as tingling in my boobs and bloating but that's it nothing major. My period was due 6 days ago and I have taken 3 hpts which are all negative!!! I don't know what to do ? I thought this must mean there is something wrong with me and that there is no chance I could be pregnant but after reading all your posts I'm not so sure ? Thanks x
