How late was your period when you got a positive pregnancy test result?

Hello ladies! I hope you don't mind me visiting you when I'm not pregnant. Well actually, I'm not sure whether I am or not! My period is late but I have had a negative pregnancy test.

So I am wondering if this is normal? Could you please share your experiences with me? How many days late was your period when you tested positive and did you test earlier and get a negative result beforehand?

DH and I had unprotected sex on day 18 of my cycle and today is day 31 of what is normally a 29 day cycle.

For my first pregnancy I tested quite late and had a positive result straight away -- none of this waiting in limbo!

I actually had a fair few negatives and only found out I was pregnant almost 12 weeks in because of a blood test for something else and they chucked on a pregnancy check just as standard! It's a funny old world.

As of today I am 40 days late on my period. I went to the doctor on my 23rd day to take a test and it came out positive... Unfortunately she informed me that a girl went in the same week, got the same results then asked to take a blood test and it came out negative (they got a new shipment of test and it was the first week with them) I went home afterwards and took 2 more tests both turned out negative. on my 34th day I took one more and again it came out negative. Is there any way I could be pregnant and getting so many false negatives? I actually picked up some prenatal vitamins and started taking them regularly (just in case if I was) is there a way they could be making my cycle go out of whack? Also I have been getting pretty moody and having cramps every now and then.

Wow I am concluding that is so different for everyone that you just never know. I am on month 2 of ttc and AF is a day late. My cycle was 33 days last month which is the longest it has been since coming off the pill. Trying to wait a couple more days before testing to be sure.

Got my (quite faint but definite) BFP the day AF was due, and I have 26 day cycle so it was only around 12DPO

I got a faint line day before af and digital next day said 2-3 weeks

I was 12dpo

I tested clear blue when few days late-negative then a week later still no af clear blue Digital- positive :-)

Eve of day 32 of 28 day cycle with CB digital test - BFN
Eve day 33 with Asda test - BFN
FMW day 34 with Asda test - BFN
FMW day 38 with CB digi test - BFP, 1-2 wks pregnant

4 days before I was due here too!

I got very faint positives 4 days before it was due and positive FRER and CBD 1-2 weeks 3 days before AF was due.

I don't think it's possible to have so many false negatives 40 days after an expected period if you were pregnant. Pregnancy vitamins also wouldn't effect your cycle like that. Do you normally have a very regular cycle. Or have you come off birth control in the past couple months? It could be that you haven't ovulated, as ovulation delays will make your cycle longer. Plenty of people have horribly long cycles and it result in infertility for them, sadly. I would schedule bloods with your doctor to see if 1- you're pregnant, and 2-whether you've ovulated.

4d before period due also.

Used cheapo cheapo tests from ebay, last 2 times before period was due! Felt so ill.

I found out when i was 2-3 weeks.... according to a clearblue anyway.

I was only a few days late. I checked due to having sore boobs more then anything.

I think it was a week. Used a CBD because it was easier for my DH to read the good news.

I was 2 weeks late with DS before I got a bfp, was testing at least daily with the same tests as we were TTC and I wanted to know what the hell was going on!!

About 10 weeks - I thought I was going through the menopause and wasn't trying to get pregnant !

I was about 3 days late at the most when I used a standard pg test from the pharmacy and got a positive. My periods were still getting back to normal after being on the pill but I was taking my temperature in the mornings to check I was ovulating and using a great app called Fertility Friend.

Faint bfp at 10dpo (5 days before AF was due).

Hello this is my first time on this site - I wondered if any of you could help me.
I normally have a 28 day cycle. I'm now 6 days late. My boobs hurt a lot wake me up in the night. No signs of period at all. Back aches tops of legs ache and a pulling sensation in my uterus (?) on day 28 I got a faint ovulation line which got much darker. The last three days it's been super dark .... I've taken 4 tests clear blue digital and all are negative. I feel like I'm going crazy. Been trying for 9months off the pill now for a year. Got pregnant in June but miscarried at 8weeks - (didn't develop after 5 weeks)
Went to the doctors Monday - was told to wait and see what happens no tests and I left very frustrated
Any ideas?

Hi all new to this page. Currently i am 5 days late AF and no BFP. I have been testing everyday and cant get it out my head lol. My AF was due on 30th July and im pretty sure i ov on time. cant be certain though. is anyone on here in the same situation as me?

About two weeks. It took me a while to realise, I was so busy with work.

piggybank to save yourself the heartache next time work out how long the cycle was this time and count on that far. Mark it on the calendar and only test after that.
I had varying cycles while TTC and had the disappointment of not being pregnant after AF was late a few times. In the end decided to delay when I expected AF (to 6 weeks) -and then I was pregnant!!

Mine was positive 3 days early with an afternoon wee (I was too impatient to wait until morning) however I've had a friend who's didn't show up until she had a blood test.
