If I don't have the next Mumsnet baby, I'm leaving!!!!!

40+5 weeks today and everyone else is giving birth on the January thread!

I have bad SPD/SI pain, an 18 month old to look after, a stinking cold and cough and am just feeling very emotional and hormonal. Today isn't even a good day to have a baby as DP is over an hour away with work and SIL (DD's carer) is in Ireland! Have tried all the usual remedies to try and kickstart things but absolutely nothing is happening. Been getting twinges and BHs for weeks now but they stop after a few hours. My DD was born at 37+5 weeks after a 4 hour labour so I'm not used to this waiting game. I'm in agony and really need to have this baby.

Lovely mumsnetters keep sending me your labour vibes.

Sympathise! ds was born at 38+0 (labour started at 37+5, eek!) and I don't know how I'd've been able to stand waiting if I'd been overdue! (sorry, not much help )

labour vibes - and sympathy.... dd2 was born at 42 weeks and then by c-section.... and it was a stinky hot early Aussie summer.... so fed up and was so glad to have her out!!i had a 2 yo with down syndrome to also care for and in contrast she was born at 38 weeks - so like you - not used to waiting and getting sick of people asking if I had had babe yet - my god I looked like I had swallowed a huge medicine ball... so clearly I had not had said babe!!

so sympathy and labour labour labour vibes coming your way!!

Sweetkitty - try Lucozade! Shed loads of the stuff! It kick started my labour with DS2 (my only spontaneous labour) and it gives you loads of energy for labout to boot! Magic stuff!!

I hope its soon but at a convenient time. Sending you loads of labour vibes!! xx

Awwwww Sk i am sorry your still here waiting, sods law isn't it?

You must be feeling down try to be positive, just think baby has to come out soon either way, I know how your feeling i am due today & can not beleive i am probably going to be late again is well.

Ds was 10 days late & i thought maybe at least one of my kids would be early or on time, that obvioulsy don't take after me as i am always an on time kinda girl

Try to relax & get loads of rest i know it must be hard with having an 18month old x

Nah seriosuly hun, when its ready it will come!

I was 40+4 with Rebecca in the end and you KNOW what i was like!

Loads of lifting if possible... lift dd1 up carry her on your hip for 2 minutes put her down, lift her again 2 mintues later etc etc - thats what did it for me!!!

Even people from 3 years ago are posting birth announcements!!!

Been crawling around floor today see if that works, would dance naked in the rain clutching a dandelion if I thought it would make this baby come out though!!!

Right another 2 people on the Due in Jan thread are showing signs of labour and they are due after me!

What do I have to do to get this baby out? (and before anyone suggests it yes I have tried natural prostaglandins via both routes!!!)

Hi Sweetkitty. Just wanted to sympathise. I'm in exactly the same boat as you. I was due the same day as you and have had cramps and BH for weeks and now I'm just waiting. It seems like its never going to happen.
I had a contraction last night. Looked at the clock, waited for the next one ready to time it. Well I'm still waiting and if I have one now a 12 hour gap is hardly reason to ring the delivery room!
Has induction been discussed with you?
I'm to be induced next Wednesday if baby hasn't arrived but I'm so hoping it will happen before then!

What sort of induction are you getting on Wednesday?

I'm 40+2 and have been told that I will have a sweep at 41 weeks (also Weds) but they won't do other stuff like pessaries until possibly the week after that !! Should I make a fuss on Wednesday and try and get the pessaries then? I'm like sk, I've had enough now.

SK - thinking about you, shall we have a go at Lucozade?

SK - I'll try not to give birth first. I keep swinging between I've had enough of being pregnant and I don't want to deal with 2 yet (dd is just over 15 months).

What is the lucazade supposed to do - you can't burp them out - surely?

Also, been having period type pains for ages - to no avail. DD1 was 9 days late - I know how pis*ed off you get when the due date passes WITH NO BABY!

Hi Meid I didn't know there was anyone else still waiting, come over to the Due in Jan thread due to be renamed Sweetkittys moan-a-thon thread! It's really horrible isn't it this waiting.

Well just been to see the MWs had a sweep am 1-2cms dilated with a middle cervix ?? Induction has been booked in for next Saturday.

Miaou - thats how desperate I have got!

I know what you mean hotmama I'm going to have 18 months between my 2 and sometimes think oh what have I done but I'm in so much pain from the SPD that having 2 and being able to move is surely better.

sweetkitty I've got 17 months between my first two and it is a FAB age gap (and I'm not just saying that - we are currently ttc no. 4 with the same age gap!) - don't worry, you'll be fine!
