I remember being a bit fed up the last few weeks when pg with DS.

This time around I have about 10 weeks work left and really can't be bothered Blush it's awful!

Am I the only lazy fed up one? :(

Happy Monday all!

Last full working week this week and soooo tired. LO decided last night that I was no longer allowed to sleep on my right side and kicked me every time I tried, so after spending the whole night on one side I'm a bit sore/knackered/grumpy.

Oh well, only 8 more days and I'm leaving early today to go to physio!

KittyAnne · 20/02/2012 20:01

speaking of ice cream- tesco is selling half price haagen daas (sp?)
get in.

miaboo · 21/02/2012 12:39

I am only 14 weeks pregnant and I only work 2 days a week but I honestly cannot wait to finish!, I have worked out with 2 days holiday and 2 bank holidays I only have 25 working days left but thats still 15 weeks away!!
The people I work with are the most backstabbing, nasty people you could meet and If I hadent fell pregnant I would be leaving anyway, I feel so stressed out at having to go to work now days, my preganacy is being ignored by staff still expecting me to lift/carry and stand for long periods of time knowing that I suffer badly with my back, a risk assessment is none exsistant and I hate it, hate it, hate it! :(

oltob · 29/02/2012 10:38

very quiet on this thread of late - obviously we're all being very diligent and professional (or ill) or a bit of both in my case.

mikocat is it your last day today? wishing you a stress-free finish.

Hello Team Lazy Arse! I have been neglecting to post here as usual.

23 working days to go.....can't wait to escape!!

CGall · 29/02/2012 11:39

Am currently 36 weeks, working up to 38 weeks.
Have 10 days of work left and realy just want it to be over.
I be fine getting up and coming into work, but the minute i get here I just cant concetrate on doing my work.
When I leave each day I know there is so much that i need to get done that I vow to be really busy the next day, but still im back and on mumsnet!!!

There is no one officially taking over my position, there is no one who can totally do my job while Im away and I should be leaving everything in ship shape to make it smooth in my absence but as each day dawns I drop one more thing off the 'essential-I really need to get this done' list

missingmymarbles · 29/02/2012 13:23

i have booked my maternity from 30 weeks (otherwise i will lose my holiday, because of when it falls), with my holiday at the end so it doesn't make any difference to actual time off / leave or return dates. i am currently 20 weeks and as i have finished my shifts for this week, (so technically 9 weeks left to work), i only have 18 shifts left to work taking into account some course days and annual leave days before the end of this financial year and a week at the beginning of the next. is that too early to start counting them down?? Grin
i can't wait, and whilst i am planning on going back to the same employer, hopefully i will be in a different department.

Missgiraffe1 · 29/02/2012 18:04

Missing it's never too early to start counting!
26 working days left for me! (which is 26 too many IMO) My work is manic. My hopes of a nice, relaxing wind down to maternity leave are well and truly F@@ked!

balkanscot · 29/02/2012 19:07

In between an ear infection and borderline anaemia I have 10 working days to go - it's been like waiting for Godot! On top of it all I have to show the ropes to my maternity cover next week which means going into the store (the one where I used to have my uninterrupted snoozes) on the staff mini bus, waddling around historic industrial machinery. Never mind, I am slowly but surely not getting arsed about to-do emails in my inbox anymore, am leaving all to her, hehe.

jaggythistle · 01/03/2012 09:20

I just don't feel like working at all today :( Samples are mounting up on the bench to be analysed, but my apathy levels seem to have peaked Blush

Maybe time for a tea break and a snack...

(note - I started at 6am Grin)

I took an hour TOIL this morning just so I could stay in bed longer. And I am off on a days leave tomorrow! Just cannot be bothered.

My DD just put on facebook that she's gone to school iwth my maternity tights on, and they were falling down before she even got to the bus stop Grin Grin Grin

Jaggy what snack did you have (I do love a bit of food chat). I've just had a fairy cake with my Brew

Balkan you're doing well still being at work being anaemic and having an ear infection. I think you deserve a bit of slack. And a fairy cake Biscuit

jaggythistle · 01/03/2012 10:50

Just a banana and a cereal bar, bit boring today! Need to do some baking....

I am working all weekend so not off till Monday/Tuesday. Think that's why I am so grumpy!

Grin at your DD!

jaggythistle · 01/03/2012 10:51

have got 4 hours TOIL to use up, am saving it for escaping some day when I really can't be bothered!

OP posts:
oltob · 01/03/2012 12:54

ok ladies, what is TOIL and how do I get me some of it?

jaggythistle · 02/03/2012 06:38

Erm....Time Off In Lieu (of payment) I tihnk....

Instead of overtime you get your time back at some point is the idea...

Slight hitch is you have to end up staying late sometime to accrue it!

It's Friday but not really here :( (see above)

OP posts:
oltob · 02/03/2012 10:25

thank you jaggy - I am definitely not very with it on the acronym front. Tis a bit of a grey area in my job (TOIL not acronyms - although there are quite a lot of those too). poor you having to work the w/end, I've already had to finish off a pack of haribo found in the car to get me going a bit. the effects are already wearing off though and I hear a hazlenut latte calling me. Hope it goes quickly for you.

justwantcheese · 02/03/2012 10:39

me too should be working now but am on here Smile looking forward to a gynormous lunch to take the bordem of work away.

balkanscot · 02/03/2012 11:39

Not at work today as had a MW appt. this morning and in 2 hours I'll be starting my first ante-natal class. And then 2 more weeks to go. Climbing the walls as I feel constantly exhausted. Or rather, I start off reasonably well on a Monday, but by Wednesday I am beat! Blood pressure keeps rising but no pre-eclampsia, iron levels keep dropping, have started swigging Floradix in the hope it will sustain my iron levels for another 2 weeks.

All I want to do is nap and rest. And how I used to snort at a colleague who took maternity leave as soon as she was legally able to (11 weeks before DD + annual leave before that]! It's now coming to bite me in the arse as I wish I had done the same. Nobody is going to congratulate me or give me a medal for soldering on until almost 37 weeks.

oltob · 02/03/2012 12:17

balkan get your feet up today and good luck with the ANC. much respect to you and CGall, working to 37-38 wks is above & beyond. I'm going to be stopping just shy of 36 wks which seemed like ages before but the bigger I get the more I realise is defo needed.

have a caramel wafer Biscuit

balkanscot · 02/03/2012 16:58

Thanks for the caramel wafer, just what I needed! :) Must summon up enough energy/enthusiasm/anti-can't-be-arsed-feelings for the next two weeks.

PS Went to a patisserie after the class, yum, yum!

jaggythistle · 03/03/2012 13:08

I am almost stuck to my chair by work apathy today :(

Need a big kick up the arse.

Or some Irn Bru or coffee. I don't really drink caffeine so would get a bit hyper....

OP posts:
missingmymarbles · 03/03/2012 22:21

i am so sick of work :(
i am studying for exams in less thanShock 4 weeks -eek! it WILL get easier once they're done here's hoping
