I remember being a bit fed up the last few weeks when pg with DS.

This time around I have about 10 weeks work left and really can't be bothered Blush it's awful!

Am I the only lazy fed up one? :(

...and now DH annoyed with me as apparently I told someone something I shouldn't have done but which they'd have found out soon enough anyway and if I didn't tell them they'd have felt it was rude that we hadn't mentioned it before...how today is turning out to be such a gem Hmm oh, and my 12noon meeting seems to be running late so maybe I could've had a proper lunch rather than the cheese sandwich I'm currently eating that's making me feel more sick...just one of those days! Sorry for the moan ladies...

Mikocat · 13/02/2012 15:34

I think you have the right idea BlueCrane - don't be a hero! I am going off on ML really early, originally because we were meant to be moving house in early March, but even though it's all slipped a few weeks back I'm still going at the same time because I'm finding work so much harder all the time.

I hate the tears all the time! It makes you feel like such a wimp, even though you KNOW it's your hormones and you can't help it.

Once today is over I have 11.5 more work days left.

Jamina · 13/02/2012 16:36

Gosh these posts mimic my day! I have just brought mat leave forward again was Going to start 18th march now starting on 12th with 8 days leaves means 11 days and counting whoop whoop can not come soon enough xxx

Missgiraffe1 · 13/02/2012 18:58

Have feeling of dread about work tomorrow after a lovely long weekend.

Blue glad to hear you got checked over and all is well. And, also whoop whoop! for an even earlier finish!!

For all those whose leaving date is fast approaching Smile Grin Smile I am happy for you, I really am. Just wish it was me Sad. I finish 8 weeks on Friday, 37 actual working days left. I REALLY CAN'T BE ARSED!!!!!!

Hi to everyone, hope your working week flies in and no-one dares give you any work grief.

balkanscot · 13/02/2012 19:52

Actually a productive day today (shock-horror)!! Shock Navigated a departmental meeting for the whole morning, then flew straight into taking care of 2 freelancers filming me and colleagues re: project evaluation. Currently attacking a jar of Nutella on the sofa at home, feel like I have earned it!

20 1/2 working days left... argh.

PinkPanther27 · 13/02/2012 22:38

I'm really struggling but more cos of SPD, feeling out of breath all the time and getting excrutiating back pain sitting at a desk all day, oh and really unsympathetic colleagues. Got another 14 weeks to go as well :-(

BlueCrane · 14/02/2012 09:58

I did a count yesterday and it's now 43 days left ...whoop whoop Grin so not far behind you in terms of actual days missg (though it's about 10 weeks for me) I've also agreed with work not to 'expect' to see me before 9:30am as still feeling v nauseous and light headed on and off in the mornings so taking me forever to get ready and out the door to work. Hopefully that will help ease the pressure a bit. Plus I have a few long weekends booked and a week off in March to rest do some proper nesting and set up the nursery so looking forward to that!

pink so sorry to hear about the SPD...not fun! And grrr to colleagues who just don't understand!

balkan well done on your productive day...and yeah to nutella you definitely earnt it!

Right...on with doing something productive!

Joygirl78 · 14/02/2012 10:00

It is here. I am SO SO relieved.

Mikocat · 14/02/2012 14:15

11 more days to go!

Both my bosses are off today so it has been a quite MN-heavy day so far, with the occasional look at flats on Rightmove.

The only really positive thing I've been doing is adding to my handover notes, which will probably be invaluable as it looks increasingly unlikely that there will be anyone to hand over to before I leave.

The advert for my replacement closes on Friday so I am intrigued to see how many applicants they get, they have dropped the salary 4k from my (already paltry) wage and are only advertising within the civil service because of recruitment freeze. My manager doesn't think there will be any applicants, I feel really sorry for her, but not sorry enough to stay on a day longer than I have to! :)

Ciske · 14/02/2012 14:21

2.5 days left to go, and I'm considering to take a half day tomorrow, so that'll be 2 days left. Smile

I really feel for the posters with unsupportive bosses. :( Mine has been fab, we've got all the practicalities sorted well in advance and colleagues are under strict instructions not to bother me with trivialities this week as apparently I need to take it easy. So I feel perfectly useless and am secretly sneaking in some work when nobody's looking. Grin

jaggythistle · 15/02/2012 11:53

Hey all,

Still fed up and struggling along here. 6 and a bit weeks work left... Can't bloody wait!!

balkanscot · 15/02/2012 13:00

Alone in the office today as everyone has gone to a departmental outing toa nearby city. I opted out as it involves traipsing around a museum's storage facilities and being one's feet most of the day. Bliss! Have rewarded myself with TWO sandwiches and a Tunnock's caramel wafer x2.

jaggythistle · 15/02/2012 13:05

two sandwiches for me too :)

and a mini roll.
and a cereal bar.

soooooooooooo HUNGRY!

oltob · 15/02/2012 22:21

hello all,

posting now as will be under the thumb tomorrow. DD poorly and no nursery for her tomorrow so DH and I juggling mtgs and I'm covering the tyrant morning. been a shocker of a wk so far, today was the first day where I thought I cannot handle this much juggling so think I will definitely stop at Easter - this morning that seemed quite close, this afternoon an eternity away. it's been a looonnngg day.

the caramel wafers are on me (still have a stash in the car - my reward for successfully passing the GTT, at least not haribo Smile)

Mikocat · 16/02/2012 10:31

9 more days to go!

Unbelieveable! The women's toilets on my floor are out of order, so I have to go up and down in the lift every time I need a pee now. That's my day pretty much sorted then!

So tired after a very acid-refluxy night, I can't wait until I can have little naps in the daytime!

Missgiraffe1 · 16/02/2012 16:04

Thanks!
Congrats to those who have made it to their last day. Flowers

I am sooooo busy at work, can't believe how much things have kicked off these past couple of weeks (well, actually I can. If I hadn't spent so many hours day dreaming/googling/internet shopping/planning my DDs 16th birthday do etc etc, I would be up to date and could handle all the new cases coming my way much more efficiently Confused)

Ho hum......

Missgiraffe1 · 16/02/2012 16:05

And btw, I ate half a tub of Mackie's vanilla ice cream whilst watching OBEM last night, and didn't wake up once with heartburn Grin

balkanscot · 16/02/2012 19:54

Cried my eyes out this morning before venturing out of the flat for work, it just got on top of me. I normally feel at my worst in the mornings, all weak, with no energy and very slow despite a good breakfast. 18 1/2 working days to go which is not that long but every morning I feel like I have got a century left yet.

Can't be arsed with anything to do with work anymore. I keep looking at mothers with pushchairs, wishing it was already me, and not the one that has got to queue at a sandwich shop at 12.30, then hurry back to the office.

It seems that scoffing 2 sandwiches during the day (one at lunchtime, one at 4pm) has become my new routine. I simply cannot live just snacking on prunes/fruit, I have become a human dustbin.

BlueCrane · 17/02/2012 10:06

Morning all...well, I had my most productive day for a long time yesterday...whilst working from home! I wonder whether I was just so much more relaxed there (and able to control my temperature, the office is sooo hot!!)

balkans so sorry to hear about your morning - hope you are feeling a little better now...at least it's friday! Hang in there!!

missg my work has also gone nuts at the moment but am trying to set myself a challenge of being really organised with my new project Hmm so that i don't have to do any crazy hours at the end of it, when I will be 28/29weeks and no doubt more tired as well as definitely bigger bumpwise!

Sneaks a caramel wafer from oltob Smile hope your DD is feeling a bit better!

miko toilet closure sounds fun! I used the lift for the first time this morning as had to bring my laptop and papers back in after being out yesterday and decided they were far too heavy to carry up the stairs Blush

Right...mustn't undo my productivity of yesterday by spending all day today on MN...catch you later!

Missgiraffe1 · 17/02/2012 11:34

33 working days to go. Finish up 8 weeks today.

Balkans hang in there. You can do it! Here, have some Thanks (aahhh, got it right this time) to brighten up your virtual desk. It's a horrible feeling, that all-consuming tiredness and lack of evergy/motivation.

Blue I think we are becoming symptom twins. Had the most awful dizziness this morning, had to keep lying down when trying to get ready, and never got out the door on time for my meeting Shock Think it was a combo of low BP (confirmed by MW on Wed), probably low blood sugar (as I was sick twice last night, around midnight and 1) and exhaustion (as I had to sleep sitting up for the rest of the night but not much 'sleeping' was going on! So uncomfy!) Oh, and possibly anaemia as have been sooo tired lately too. Miko daytime disco naps sound like bliss!!

Mentioned the acid reflux to MW, she said it's better to try to cope with it but if I couldn't, then I should make an app with the GP here, who would prescribe Rinitidine. It's supposed to be safe, but I am a bit of a 'no pills for me' person (probably due to my Mum's prescription med abuse/addictions) so don't know what to do. I did eat dinner later than usual last night (as Dh home later, so went to gym a bit later) but it was still 3 hours before I went to bed.

Have a good say everyone. Smile Every day passed is a day closer to freedom!!!!

Ciske · 17/02/2012 13:10

Last working day, counting down the hours. Colleagues have been lovely and the To Do list is nearly at its end - roll on ML! :)

oltob · 17/02/2012 14:21

to the tune of 'one man went to mow'

27 days to go
days to go to ML
27 days with a few off...
for MW appts, consultant appts etc
doesn't sound bad at all.

ok I lost it at the end sometime ago but just worked it out and felt the need to share. I do 4-day weeks btw.

congrats to ciske and others finishing, wishing you a restful and uneventful ML and looking fwd to joining you soon.

sending many positive thoughts to everyone else (and virtual tunnocks wafers). balkan can completely identify with things getting on top - I hit my first wall with it all on wednesday and frankly am sooo relieved to have made it to Friday - we should be giving ourselves big pats on the back. I'm just back from a mtg so must crack on as I have an early finish today to get my haircut. Just a couple of things though - thank you missg for the ice-cream heads-up (hate that phrase but no vocab!) will definitely be trying, I haven't succumbed to pills yet either for the heartburn. This week stuffing a pillow under my hip to lodge me on my left at night is mainly working. I've noticed that when I turn onto my right I wake up and have to neck the gaviscon, possibly the stomach is on the left (might have just made that up)

Also I'm now wearing bump bands day and night and weirdly my old spanx slip is giving me some of the best support. It's not a heavy duty suck-it-all-in and I pull it up so it's from just under bum to under bust. You are welcome to do with that knowledge what you will - pity my DH possibly - but anyone having problems adjusting to ever explanding bumps (I'm 29 wks on Sun) I can strongly recommend.

Hotpotpie · 17/02/2012 14:56

Ah wish Id have seen this thread this morning, another here sick and bloody tired of work and my colleagues

31 weeks, still working full time, still covering a night a week, I have a really stressful job and Im currently in the dog house for having a day off last week when I couldnt stop being sick. ONE bloody day (as you can see the hormones are alive and well)

On the plus side I have 9 more weeks until I meet my baby, and 5 weeks and 3 days until I start mat leave. I will make the end without murdering someone I will! Oh and in that time I have to re-interview for my job, deep joy!

Missgiraffe1 · 17/02/2012 16:38

I am so glad to see the back of this bloody week!! Have spend a significant amount of time this week organising events (which we are under additional pressure to do on top of our normal day jobs due to a huge political issue affecting us). Was given a remit, fulfilled it, but have now just been told that some of the events I've organised clash with a big UK internal event (which I was told nothing about when given the remit and tight timescale for organising these events). Clash means that we won't be able to get some of the speakers we need (not optional) for our events. Back to the fecking drawing board with a deadline of c.o.p Tues to have these rearranged.

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!! Angry Angry

Ciske · 17/02/2012 21:31

Thanks oltob!

I'm absolutely exhausted tonight, didn't realise how much hard work this last week had been until I turned off the PC tonight. It was actually quite difficult to stop working: I had to remind myself that my colleagues are not stupid and will be ok, even if I don't have every single scrap of information documented and explained to them. Grin

Now we start the waiting game...
