Is there anyone around who has just found out that they are pregnant and are due in Sept?
I know it's very early days but I thought maybe I could get the ball rolling...
I'm due around Sept 4th I think, with DC2, feeling very happy if a bit nervous :)

Hi everyone, I am new to all is, first baby due on 03/09, v exciing but nervewracking at the same time! i have had a booking appt through but not a scan date yet - does anyone know how long it normally takes to get a scan date through?
Thanks and back to the nausea! :)

TinkerMaloo · 19/01/2012 15:48

OMG! i could eat a horse and still have room for a few jockeys! up until now i have been feeling a bit off my food and even lost a few pounds but as of yesterday I am starving all the time! im going to end up massive lol

Hello and congrats to the new joiners :)

Sorry and hugs to missus and everyone else having a horrible/worrying time :(

Bells as far as i remember the scan date takes a week or two to come through, if you get to ten weeks and still havent heard anything i would maybe ring and chase it up!?... just to be sure they didnt lose you

i would update the list but that would take a bit of trawling through and i dont have the time with a snot-monster on the loose

take it easy ladies! Xx

My last message made no sense as I'm on my stupid touchscreen phone! Am going to tell my boss after we've told family this week, way I see it, if anything goes wrong, she'll understand straight away. She's nice and work is pretty family friendly plus I work with a lovely team who all know have been ttc so hard lying to them these last few weeks!
Thanks for st helens info alien.

missuswife · 19/01/2012 17:04

Ah Rusulka sending positive vibes your way.

Rusulka · 19/01/2012 17:46

Good news ladies!

Everything's fine.

I couldn't see anything on the screen because the sonographer had all the sympathy and humour of an east german ex-shotputter, plus she had the machine facing the wrong way for me. Inserted the probe like she was stuffing a turkey...

But DH got a really good look. And...

We have a peanut. Grin
In the right place Grin Grin
With no bleeding Grin Grin Grin
...And a heartbeat! Grin Grin Grin Grin

Leaflet at hospital says I have an 85-97% chance of this all working out fine.

I am so relieved!!!

Plus it turns out I haven't had the right phone number for the EPU, which is why I couldn't get through. I've alerted them to it though now.

They said they thought the bleeding was implantation, but that doesn't sound right to me. I think the earlier possible diagnosis of angry cervix is more plausible, considering the spotting variations over the past week.

SiL dropped us home and stayed for lunch, where she pointed out that my spotting started when my MiL came to stay... if it's stopped tomorrow, I think we know what the cause was! Frightened now though, as she'll be back at the beginning of March... on and off for 5 months. REALLY hoping it's not her causing it!

Thanks for all your best wishes, I'm sure they helped me through. X

ThreeForTea · 19/01/2012 18:00

That's really great resulka

bells I think they try to give you scan as close to 12 weeks as possible to tie in with milestone checks. Also is the point that they can date most accuratly, but it might be different in other places.

Anyone else having regular headaches? Bit annoying.

Littlecherublegs · 19/01/2012 18:10

Rusulka that is FANTASTIC news!!!!! Phew, you must so relieved!!!!!

Big Grin all round indeed!!!!!!

Whatevertheweather · 19/01/2012 18:19

Rusulka that is excellent news GrinGrinGrinGrin Yay!

MrsHerculePoirot · 19/01/2012 19:30

Rusulka that is fab news!

Glad it isn't just me that has told more people that really is necessary, and not necessarily told DH that I have told them. I haven't told him I haven't told them...

lurkingmurking · 19/01/2012 19:36

Oh wow Rusulka that's fantastic news!

Iph · 19/01/2012 20:19

Woohoo ruselka what brilliant news! So pleased for you (and also cheered every time I hear of a bleeding story with a happy ending - please let Wednesday be one for me!)

dorita I was :o at your 'family nuns'

Welcome to Bells, birdy, floydie and anyone else I've missed. birdy and floydie sorry for your previous losses. I remember you floydie from the May thread, I never joined it but was an avid lurker and due on the 15th but sadly had a MMC at 13 weeks. Here's hoping for better luck for us all :)

whatever and MrsHP, looks like I'm going first at 1pm. Why does that make me even more nervous?!

Loopyhasanotherbean · 19/01/2012 20:45

great news resulka!

and welcome to the newbies.

re eating patterns, i had been doing ok, no real junk food, and just not fancied much lately, barely snacked and been eating toast for 1 or 2 meals most days. Well not today! Was ok earlier, but got the munchies in the afternoon so had a cadburys raisin brunch bar. At 6pm i had a lower calorie ready meal lasagne (as DP was meant to be late home) but then was still really hungry afterwards, and DP wasn't that late after all, but he went via McDonalds on the way home and got me some fries and chicken pieces, - we ate 2 1/2 chicken pieces each but i wolfed all the fries! and i still don't feel full. Where is it all going??? i don't remember being this hungry with DS! if anything i went off food and especially as the pregnancy continued, i found i couldn't eat normal sized portions, never mind big ones, and had to eat little and often instead!

Dorita75 · 19/01/2012 22:35

rusulka fab news, wooho! [Smile]
We told my family tonight, told my dad I'd got him a birthday present but all being well, would take 7&months to arrive...mum and dad both filled up and hugged us both loads. Told my brother and sister, also mega excited. Brother & SiL have 1yr old so this will be 2nd grandchild. Seeing their faces made my week and ,I just hope all continues going to plan...

kittycatcat · 20/01/2012 07:49

Hi all. Can I join please? I haven't had a chance to read all the thread yet but will do. I'm 5 weeks with dc2. Dc1 is 8 and a half months.

Congratulations to everyone expecting and baby dust to everyone trying.

pgreen · 20/01/2012 07:57

Sorry to hear some of the sad news but wonderful news for so many and great news resulka!

I have my first midwife appt next thursday which I have a million questions for. This is gonna sound strange but I don't have many symptoms and therefore am cautious/anxious..... Yes I have the occasional sore boobs (initially this was constant) but that's been it. No nausea, no funny taste, not more hungry or less hungry than usual. "Just" the very clear +ve pregnancy test(s) - I did it 3 times as didn't believe it. We've been trying for so long and now it doesn't feel real..... am I just super paranoid?

Told my Mum and sis who are over the moon and my in laws too - everyone knows its way early and I don't want to jinx it.

pgreen · 20/01/2012 07:58

Should say I'm 7 weeks

Spuddybean · 20/01/2012 08:18

morning all.

great news resulka and hello to my old bus comrade floydie .

I am in bed today with a probable chest infection (joy). Work sent me home yesterday. I think they are loosing patience with me - i have only been there 3 weeks and been sick since i started :(

Not sure if my illnesses are pregnancy related or just really bad luck, but i feel like my life force is being sucked out of me!

I have been drinking honey and lemon and taking paracetamol. Does anyone have any other tips? I'm off to the docs at 3pm.

btw DP is being an angel - total turnaround - i think he just needed a kick up the arse!

lauraj78 · 20/01/2012 08:53

Hello! I'm new here but I'm expecting DC2 around 10th September (I think!) so it's early days as I'm only 6 weeks yet! DH & I already have a nearly 2.5yo DD who will be 3yo in August just before the baby's arrival. I'd noticed changes in my body over the last couple of weeks but I only did a test last Friday. I'm happy & excited but nervous too Wink

It's good to be here Smile

Laura

Littlecherublegs · 20/01/2012 08:59

Welcome Laura !! Great to have another reruit - t'is indeed a busy busy thread!! Smile

spuddy sorry to hear you're feeling unwell, you seem to be having a rough time of it.Though I can sympathise - I havent been 100% myself since NYE with horrid cold/flu symptoms - seem to be producing so much snot!! (ugh)
All I've been doing is trying to take it easy, resting when I can, and eating fruit and drinking OJ! So no radical advice there (sorry) but not sure what else to suggest - other than lots of TLC from DP!!

Dorita sounds like telling the family was a really happy moment - I cant wait to do that! Trying to hold out til after my 12 week scan, so 6 weeks to go!!

Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely day - its Friday, whoop!! Grin

Bells19 · 20/01/2012 09:10

TinkerMaloo & Threefortea Thanks for the advice - i think I am just being impatient and want the scan date now so i have something to aim for!
Rusulka - fab news, congrats.
Thank God for Friday - only one more nausea filled day in front of a computer screen and then the weekend!!! Have a great weekend all :O

Whatevertheweather · 20/01/2012 09:19

Welcome and congratulations newbies Smile

Spuddy sorry to hear you're not feeling well still but glad dp bucked his ideas up.

Quick question: Can you eat mozzarella cheese when pregnant?? I'm pretty sure you can but after not knowing about mcdonalds milkshakes thought I'd better check!

Macaroons · 20/01/2012 09:24

Hello and welcome to all new joiners!

rusulka so happy to hear that you saw heart beats! Must be a magical moment! I'm having a private scan tomorrow too I'm quite nervous about it. Hope I'll see heart beats too!

pgreen I have hardly any symptoms too. I only occasionally have sore boobs and stomach stretching pain (at least I hope that is what it is) no constipation no change in taste buds no ms. I do tend to get more tired so I try to go to bed earlier. And that's about it! I think not everyone get symptoms (I hope it's normal not to have much symptoms!)

spuddy hope you will get better soon. Good that your hubby is behaving better!

Still debating when to tell work. Maybe I'll try to keep quiet till the 12 week scan, and make up some excuse for not drinking at the team lunch next week. And just say I'm taking time off for medical appointment and hope no one ask any question Hmm

cakeladyc · 20/01/2012 09:35

Congrats Rusulka !! :)

Popped into my folks last night and was telling my mum about all the foods i can't eat now and she was so surprised, she said when she was pregnant with me (30ish yrs ago), she ate whatever she wanted!

Loopyhasanotherbean · 20/01/2012 09:41

quick post. yay for heartbeats, yay for mr spuddy becoming a DP again Grin

and mozzarella is ok as long as it has definitely been made from pasteurised milk.

this might help those who aren't sure on food issues -
