doo woohoo for last day. ML is fab!

Been to the midwife today and blood pressure is up a bit but not out of the ordinary. Was protein in wee so it's being sent off to see if I have an infection although mw thinks it's because I'm hardly drinking at the moment due to major heartburn problems. Am sick after most food and drink now- not stopped the chocolate addiction, though I have to be prepared to puke it all back up! Have lost 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks though which I guess has it's benefits

Still not really getting my head round the fact my due date is less than a week away- all seems very unreal. Have booked an eyelash dye for Friday though so am hoping I make it that far! Got to think of the photos

Nice to hear from you minnie - sorry you're getting such bad heartburn. It's something I've managed to escape pretty much up to now, but I've literally exploded over the last few days so I'm wondering if it's still to come. Any signs of anything happening yet?

So, as some of you kindly remembered, today was my last day at work. Wasn't really as I'd planned and I'll need to do a few bits and bobs from home to finish off, but that doesn't really bother me, I'm just so relieved not to have to go into the office and wear anything other than stretchy black pants! Slept so badly last night, not sure why. Have an early morning visit to the hosp in the morning then looking forward to a snooze and starting some jobs around the house! Sorry for the babble, don't think it's all sunk in that I've finally made mat leave...

Well done on getting your MATB1 form LAF - I found that a really big milestone for some reason, it felt really official and reassuring, like finally getting a set of proper pregnancy notes did too!

Has anyone higher up had a scan for placental localization? I've got mine monday and was just wondering what it will be like, I'm guessing it may be internal because placenta was posterior so will be behind baby but will they check baby over too or just have a quick look at placenta? Tia x

Back from hosp-booked in for yet another growth scan next week as 5cm under still. Both previous scans have been fine so trying to just see it as an opp to see baby again, hope there's nothing they keep missing! Also had a strep b swab done as mentioned it to mw and she said she was happy to test me-just hope it's not positive or I won't be allowed in the birth centre

laylas one of the November ladies, katherine I think, had a scan for placenta position late on, the scan ended up only being external as it revealed the position clearly. From what I recall they would only have done an internal scan if the external didn't give the info they needed.

dooscooby yay for maternity leave! (I have 3 months to go).

I had a horrible dream last night and spent most of the morning trying to push morbid thoughts from my mind. Wanted lots of movement from the baby to make me feel better. But other than two kicks at lunchtime it's been quiet. Then this evening felt really queasy, uncomfortable and bloated which made me upset (clearly hormones up to something). Realised it was trapped wind - and now baby is kicking loads again. Phew!
Also realised I'm about to outgrow my expensive maternity bras from Rigby & Peller (good investment I thought at the time). I have put on much more weight this time round compared to my pg with ds. I'm already puffy-faced with cankles. Dread to think what I'll look like next month.

digi I suppose the steroids have played havoc with you. I'd be gutted too if I had R&P bras that didn't fit! I've been eating like a horse for the last 3 weeks. It is a bit out of hand, but I figure next month, I may have no appetite again. I've had some very vivid bad and good dreams too. Glad to see that you are feeling kicks and the reason behind less movement has been resolved!

I'm really happy these days. I've been "playing" with baby in the mornings before work. He is up and kicking. When he does, I'll rub and tap the area where he is kicking and wait for him to kick back which he eventually does. I don't want to get up though, I just want to stay and feel him move all day!

IThought I'd tentatively poke my nose in and say 'hello'... I'm 17 weeks in 3hrs time (!) and hope to graduate to here a few weeks after Xmas... my 20 week scan in on the 17th of Jan... All going well I'l have a baby end of May 2012...

I've been lurking on here for a while as I know quite a few of you from the Common Room and Freak Out room when I was pregnant last time... that baby would have been due in Oct. Congratulations to all of you for your lovely news.

Hey blackkat - sorry youre still waiting. When is your next mw appt? Are you bothering with the curry, sex, walking etc or has it all failed miserably?

Im desparate to strip and paint a radiator today, but figured the paint stripper would be a silly idea-feel quite frustrated already being at home but being restricted in what i can do, so i can imagine how it feels when youre overdue. I also had my first text along the lines of 'is baby here yet' type thing - can see how uber annoying it could get over time! Anyway -need to be less grumpy today, im on maternity leave after all -i should be enjoying it and my last few days of freedom!
