Welcoming all those pregnant after miscarriage who need hand-holding, a place to moan, share happy news or just lurk.

It will happen for us this time.

I think I'm more worried if something is wrong with the baby and there aren't any specialists there? It says maternity services are running but doesn't mention paediatrics, just to add to my fretting! Although as it's an elective section it might get pushed back anyway? Ho hum! Will go back to thinking of baby names to distract me!

Hope the sweep works lime! Will be thinking of you!

Our house is in a constant state of carnage! DS is 2.6 and leaves a trail of destruction where ever he goes ! Must tidy up before the Apprentice!!

AmandinePoulain · 30/05/2012 21:21

NICU is an acute service, there's no way they'd leave us with no doctors! It's just routine stuff that'll be cancelled, like outpatients, so don't worry Smile

PieMistress · 30/05/2012 22:00

Thanks for the reassurance amandine x

mousebacon · 30/05/2012 22:09

Good luck for tomorrow lime Grin hopefully it won't be too long for you now either twitt - fingers crossed for both of you!

DS has been off school all week with the chicken pox! So much for the rest! At least it means I got out of the school run! Thankfully he's not been poorly with it.

I feel like I've been having some niggles on and off this week but nothing that's made me think 'this is it' I've got my pre op appointment on Friday so I'll show them my ridiculous ankles/feet.

When is the strike meant to be happening?

KnitterNotTwitter · 30/05/2012 22:11

Just checking in from new baby land to say thank you for the good wishes. Caroline is sleeping next to me while I type this - she's totally gorgeous and I'm the happiest person ever - we've been through so much to get her and while I'll always feel sad for the babies we lost I'm so in love and happy - she's the best therapy ever!

Good luck to all of you - I'll lurk and have my fingers crossed for all of you.

Thank you very much for your kind words :)
Off to the town today to get some shopping then to see mw so hoping to get a waddle before the little one comes.
Pie heard about the strike, maternity services are not affected but if the baby requires any medical attention it will get it.Think about it:they might cancel all planned ops but not the emergency ones,i don't think they would close a&e depts-who would take responsibility for somebody's death?
Knitter i love your daughter's name-it still is on my list but DH said "no". He's set his mind on Victoria (I'm not too keen)if it's a girl.I'm thinking Isabel,MIL is siding with me but will see what sex the little one is.The last resort is "erm, yyyh, she doesn't look like Victoria" :o

LimeFlower · 02/06/2012 09:59

sorry mouse to disappoint you-booked for induction on 6th of June in the evening-told "if they had a bed..."

mousebacon · 02/06/2012 19:35

Ooh, looks like we'll be baby date buddies then - my section is on the 8th! I cannot bloody wait!

Our street party went well but I'm cold to the bones now! Trying to persuade DH he wants to go and get us a curry... Grin

LimeFlower · 02/06/2012 21:09

mouse just in case we won't catch each other before the big day-good luck:)

mousebacon · 03/06/2012 19:39

You too! I've been having pains on and off today would love to think baby will be here before Friday but I doubt it!

TheonlyoneIknow · 06/06/2012 11:15

Oh two imminent baby arrivals! I am very excited! Good luck tonight lime and for Friday mouse (if baby doesn't arrive before then!)

TheonlyoneIknow · 06/06/2012 11:16

Oooo any news from twitt ?

(sorry it's Pie, I name changed for a post but must go and change back!)

LimeFlower · 06/06/2012 13:30

Thanks Pie ,still here, going to call the hospital in a few hours and ask whether they want me to check in tonight.
Naughty,naughty,whom did you slag off

twit and mouse hope you're cuddling your little ones or are not far away from it :)

Twittwooo · 06/06/2012 13:52

No baby action here I'm afraid! Still waiting (im)patiently. I'm one week post dates today, so hopefully something will happen soon. I've been out for very long walks over the last few days but the weather is awful here today so I'm indoors which makes things worse. And my husband is off work today so I'm not sure he's enjoying my company, I'm a bit fed-up to say the least!! I have a MW appointment tomorrow and she mentioned a sweep, so that might get things going. If not, I'm considering going for acupuncture as I really want to avoid induction if at all possible. Will keep you all posted!

LimeFlower · 06/06/2012 13:58

Go for it twit.I never checked the availability of acupunture naively thinking that it won't be long...Good luck, hope you'll have a bit more than I :)

Twittwooo · 06/06/2012 14:14

Good luck Lime, I hope you get in this evening.
I'm waiting until after my midwife appointment before booking the acupuncture in the hope that the sweep works. I'm not sure about spending money on acupuncture if it's one of those things that may or may not work, but time is ticking!

CosySlippers · 06/06/2012 16:44

Hi, pregnant again after first m/c in November 2011. Is it normal to feel like its not real? I'm finding it really hard, thought I would be so happy, as we've been trying since Jan. But more than anything I feel convinced it won't last. Feeling sad :(

confu3ed · 06/06/2012 17:55

Baby news imminent then....good luck Lime, Twitt and Mouse!!

I still have an awkward laying baby and now they have found that there is more fluid than at the last scan..........so worried it really seems to be one thing after another at the mo. They will not see me for another scan for 2 weeks and then they will make a decision on whether to book me in for a section or not. The issue is that with more fluid there is a danger of the cord coming out when your waters break. The hospital said that they were giving me worst case scenarios...whatever they are I am bloody terrified as it could mean that the babies kidneys are not functioning as they should but the chances are it is nothing. All I can do is wait now apparently. Seeing midwife tomorrow so will turn on the water works and see if there is anything that they can do before my next hospital appointment in 2 weeks. The consultant said any signs of labour to get straight to the hospital as they want to monitor me as there is no way that my baby can be born bum first!!

Congratulations Cosy, all of us here know exactly how you are feeling and have been where you are now.

Twittwooo · 07/06/2012 15:11

No news from Lime? I wonder if she's in hospital having her baby?

The midwife was unable to do my sweep today because my cervix was not effaced enough, so I think we're in for a longer wait. I'm getting very impatient!

How you get on today confu3sed? I hope you're feeling a bit better about things.

Congratulations Cosy! It is difficult after one miscarriage or more, as confu3ed says we've all been there on this thread so please do share your worries here. I still remember the sadness I felt in your situation, it's very odd and seems wrong doesn't it? You will see from reading this thread that the outcome can be very positive for lots of people, so I hope that helps. Here I am at 40+8 and feeling a bit fed up now, although I still sometimes can't believe that we got here and am very grateful and happy.

Blackkat · 07/06/2012 17:26

Delurks, to wish all the full termed well, am lurking for news. For all those of you overdue, try clary sage oil on pressure points or in carrier liquid in bath. The good people at holland and Barrett or similar will explain! Supposed to trigger contractions. Good luck all xx

Piemistress · 07/06/2012 17:30

confu3ed my friend had too much amniotic fluid, is that what they are saying? They took her into hospital at about 36w and basically kept her in for observation and said they would keep her in until they induced her at 37w (which they did, she also had really bad pelvic pain)

Welcome cosy we all know how you feel here, take a seat and congrats! :) X

Bummer about the sweep twitt. Hopefully things will get started themselves and you don't have to go back!

I just had a surprise leaving tea party at work! My boss lured me over the road to the teashop under false pretences (I just thought he was being nice taking me out for a hot choc and a bun!) and then after about 10 mins my colleagues started arriving! I hadn't noticed the reserved table with sandwiches and scones on it and baby confetti! It was a really lovely gesture (my colleagues are so lovely) but I felt very superstitious opening a present with a teddy and a gift card in it and a 'you're leaving to have a baby card!'. I am normally a real bubbler but managed not to cry, I was very proud of myself!
