ladybee another oldie crashing back to the thread to congratulate you on your wonderful news! I'm thrilled to bits for you!!!

Sending positive vibes and good luck wishes to everyone else on the thread xx

Ladybee · 28/04/2012 10:52

Thanks clareanna Grin

Amandine well it sounds like they've done all the checks that can be done, I'm pleased that all the signs are reassuring and hope you're keeping that fully in the front of your mind too. Especially good to have nice movements to keep letting you know things are ok.

I keep coming on meaning to do more and then looking at the time and thinking I must get some sleep while I can. Which I will do now Smile

mousebacon · 28/04/2012 22:02

Waves at lady Grin now get some sleep!

Hi Amandine sounds like you're being well looked after. Hope you've got your feet up.

xx mouse

Moominsummermadness · 30/04/2012 13:19

Hello ladies,

I had my anomaly scan this morning. All looked well with baby, was extremely active- the sonographer was laughing about it moving so much. I have a haematoma, but she said that it looks as though it's nothing to worry about. I did have one earlier in the pregnancy, but it wasn't noted at the 12 week scan. My placenta is anterior, does anyone know if this can cushion the baby's movements? Considering how much it wriggles around, I'm still not feeling it much! Oh, and we're team yellow!

AmandinePoulain · 30/04/2012 14:07

Mine is anterior too moomin. I feel her more on the right than the left, and more kind of inside than I did with dd, she certainly loves bouncing on my bladder and she seems to get hiccups a lot! Grin
Great news on the scan!

Moominsummermadness · 30/04/2012 18:04

Thanks Amandine. That's how I feel the movements from my little one. I haven't felt any movements on the left, just on the right and sort of deep inside and on my bladder! During the scan, baby was actually kicking my bladder. No wonder I need to wee so much!

Hope you haven't had any more bleeding.

whoops - sorry mouse two weeks out is very bad maths on my part!

funchum8am · 01/05/2012 19:40

Hi all, glad to hear about the new babies and those who have made it to motherhood!

moomin I have been feeling some very slight movements for a week or so now but am dying for DH to be able to feel them! Scan is Thursday so hopefully they will confirm that all is well. Not sure about where the placenta is obviously until then; hearing that it was anterior would reassure me that the limited movements are not a problem but really I suspect it's just a bit early and I'm being silly! Glad to hear yours went well!

KnitterNotTwitter · 02/05/2012 11:17

Hey gorgeous ladies:
We had our final appointment with the consultant yesterday morning - as expected she strongly recommends the labour ward because of Joseph's shoulder distocia. She did give us lots of tips about how to make the room as cozy as possible - pushing the bed around etc... Pretty happy with all that to be honest and in that Joseph only took 7hrs from first contraction to being in my arms I'm not planning on being there long anyway! Bump is now measuring 41cm, still 2/5 engaged, heart beat, blood pressure and wee all fine :-)

AmandinePoulain · 02/05/2012 12:02

Good luck for tomorrow funchum x

Nearly there now then knitter! Smile

I've just ordered a pram Grin. It all seems very real now!

Twittwooo · 02/05/2012 14:10

Hope your scan goes well funchum.
Not long for either of us now knitter, I can't believe how quickly it has come around! Glad your consultant appointment went well yesterday and fingers crossed for another short labour.
What kind of pram did you go for Amandine?
I'm starting to enjoy my maternity leave, despite having had a nasty cold but it's getting better now thankfully!
Hope everyone is well. x

AmandinePoulain · 02/05/2012 20:07

I bought an Oyster in claret twitt Grin

I'm on the sofa feeling sorry for myself Sad. I took dd out for a walk in the park (seemed like a really good idea at the time!) and tripped off the path. Luckily I didn't land on my front, I did however break my phone and hurt my foot. I hobbled to the drs surgery which is right next to the park and saw a nurse who bandaged it up for me. Dh left work to drive us home. I feel so stupid and I'm dreading phoning work after the time off I had for the bleeding - tomorrow night is meant to be my first shift back Blush

funchum8am · 03/05/2012 17:36

Scan was fine, the baby was moving around and all as it should be which was lovely. Only thing is, the placenta is partially covering the cervix so they are scanning again at 36 weeks (am 20 now) to check it has moved. If not I may have to have a section but this is not that likely and no big deal if so anyway.

Sorry to hear about your fall Amandine, and I hope work aren't funny with you about it if you have to have more time off. The main thing is you and baby are OK by and large. Fingers crossed it's not painful for you though.

Twittwooo · 03/05/2012 18:41

Glad to hear your scan went well fun and that you're positive about everything even if you do need a section.

Amandine I hope you're feeling okay. You will be fine but I imagine you would have been a bit shaken up. I hope your work are understanding and that you're resting just now!

I've been batch cooking like mad today in preparation for the first few weeks with the baby. Really tired now and I have to go out this evening! I need to learn to slow down ...

Moominsummermadness · 03/05/2012 19:47

Glad the scan went well funchum. Hope that your placenta does move up. also glad that you are feeling movement now - i want my dh to feel ours too!

Oh amandine, how scary that must have to been. try not to worry about work.

funchum8am · 03/05/2012 20:22

twittwoo you are about the fifth person recently to point out what a good thing batch cooking is - I suspect we will need to rethink our tiny freezer! DH is an excellent cook and does most of it so he might have to do smallish batches but fairly often while I'm feeding/sleeping/generally tending to the LO unless we can find the space for a normal sized freezer....

KnitterNotTwitter · 04/05/2012 11:09

funchum great news on the scan and wrigglyness :-)

Anyone heard from Googie recently - wondered if she's about these days?

KnitterNotTwitter · 04/05/2012 11:27

Twitt should have said "good work" on all the batch cooking....

I also recommend making things like muffins and freezing them. Then when people come round to meet the baby you can whip some out of the freezer - warm them in the oven and impress the socks off people who can't believe that you're making muffins with a newborn (you don't have to tell them our secret!)

AmandinePoulain · 04/05/2012 12:43

Great scan news funchum Grin. Did you find out the flavour? My placenta was low at my dating scan but it'd moved up by the private one at 16 weeks - I think they usually do.

I went into work in the end and hobbled about all night! I'm on holiday now though until next weekend, I need to avoid any more drama! Grin

Twittwooo · 04/05/2012 16:23

Ha ha Knitter, thanks! I LOVE your idea about muffins, although they would likely get eaten by DH and I before the baby is even born!

funchum - we also have a very small freezer so I haven't made as much as it probably sounds like I have! I bought some plastic and some foil takeaway tubs which stack nicely, so I've managed to squeeze in quite a bit. So far we have four portions of each - veggie chilli, veggie shepherd's pie, veggie burgers; pizza dough; pizza sauce and some mashed potato! I was planning to make some meat dishes next, but now it's a choice between that and muffins, hmm ...

KnitterNotTwitter · 04/05/2012 20:41

with muffins I went a bit crazy and made a batch pretty much every day in the week before my due date. DH and I would eat a couple each and then freeze the rest - so that's 8 going in the freezer each day! Fruit ones like blueberry freeze best - not chocolate ones sadly...!

funchum8am · 04/05/2012 20:57

Muffins are a fab suggestion! I love them and DH should be able to rustle up some good ones - maybe I could give him the pre-birth bit of the maternity leave?! Not sure him trying to teach me something new is a good idea - can he get started on them now and freeze them for late Sept Grin

(He is taking six months after the birth when I go back to work as it is!) Glad to hear the small freezer is not the end of the batch-cooking world - he is also good at pizza so freezing the dough is a great idea.

funchum8am · 04/05/2012 20:58

We are in team surprise - no gender news for us, we like the idea of finding out on the big day itself. It's our first DC so no preference either way/need to "balance" our family or similar. We'll be delighted either way with a healthy baby.
