Good luck lili!

moomin I may lamp the next person who tells me that my pregnancy has 'flown by' and they 'can't believe!' I'm that many weeks already! I feel as though I should be about to pop by now! Wink

LadyMaybe · 03/04/2012 11:09

Right, I think it's time for the weekly stats update, welcome PieMistress. How are you feeling about the prospect of the ELCS? Is it a relief after the birth of your first child or do you have worries about it?
Lollopybear, think I managed to get your dates right. Is it your first? Lovely to have you both on the list!

I have been having a very hormonal day. Lots of random weeping caused by ads etc. Feel generally low and generally pissed off. Aye well, it'll be a better day tomorrow I expect.

Moominsummermadness · 03/04/2012 19:09

Amandine, I had exactly the same thing said to me today- by a friend who is 35 weeks! How she can say that my pregnancy is flying by, when I'm not even 16 weeks yet is beyond me! I would much rather bw in her shoes and have the birth just around the corner!!

Hope lili is doing ok!

funchum8am · 03/04/2012 21:59

I agree it doesn't SEEM to be flying by! I cannot wait til at least be very obviously showing and feeling the baby move as then it will feel like something is HAPPENING. Sorting things out with work about leave has made it feel more real as colleagues are now referring to baby etc, which is very sweet, and since I'm the boss I can actually take people to one side and let them know if they are treating me in a weird way without getting myself in trouble. Eg one colleague told me off for carrying a set of exercise books. I am a teacher, so unless the books are meant to mark themselves I've got to take them at least to my office (don't have my own classroom!) I pointed out I was in the early stages of pregnancy, I am not ill, and until I start feeling I can't carry things I need to just get on with it!

Having said that, having less than 6 months to go makes it feel quite a short journey from here on in! We are meant to be getting some work done on our flat and I feel a bit pressured to sort out the finances, get quotes, get the work booked in and get it done before baby arrives, so at least that is something that makes it feel like it's going relatively swiftly.

16 week appt with GP tomorrow so another milestone there....here's to the next 24 weeks! We're not far off half way....

Moominsummermadness · 04/04/2012 13:21

Funchum, it's good that you are able to tell people not to treat you any differently- I suppose that people mean well, but personally I can't stand it when they tell me what I should or shouldn't do now that I am pregnant (especially when it's those people who have never been pregnant before!).

I've just had my 16 week appointment (a day early, lol) with my lovely midwife. She found the heartbeat straightaway, and said that my uterus feels a good size for dates. She said that I would see her again at 24 weeks, unless I wanted to see her any sooner, just for reassurance (she know how anxious I am after MC). I said that I think 24 weeks will be ok, as at least I'll be having my scan inbetween. She asked if I had been feeling any movement, I told her that I have been feeling slight flutters, but not every day. I think she woke the baby up, as it then wouldn't keep still for an hour afterwards!

funchum8am · 04/04/2012 16:14

moomin I'm really glad my buddy's appt went well!

I haven't felt anything for definite yet but I'm just off to the 16 week appt with the GP now, so hopefully will get to hear the heartbeat. If not I am going to ask to be booked in with the midwife to do so, just to ease my mind (also had MCs). Though presumably that won't be for ages since they couldn't get me in with the midwife for today which was a scheduled appt, so may have to wait til the scan on 3rd May!

I had another colleague today telling me not to get up from lying on the floor (first aid course!) by doing a sit up type movement as it would cause my stomach muscles to go wrong if I did it while pregnant....am really not that impressed with stories like that! I'm sure if things were that risky the NHS would tell me! On the other hand she was only trying to help so I just said thank you this time. I am going to end up with a few people thinking i'm in denial that I'm pregnant or something if I get too obviously annoyed with all the well-meant totally non-scientific advice!

Moominsummermadness · 04/04/2012 20:25

Thanks Funchum! Hope you're appointment with GP goes welll tomorrow, and that you do get to hear the heartbeat, it's such a lovely, reassuring sound. I think that I've only been able to feel tiny movements this early due to it being DC4, even the midwife said it is very early, even for a subsequent pregnancy. It's so hard to distinguish though first little flutters from anything else to start with, but hopefully you'll be able to tell soon enough!

confu3ed · 04/04/2012 21:54

Apologies for the lack of posts of late, by the time I have got in from work, cooked, cleaned up etc I am ready for bed! But on holiday this week so feeling so much better!!

Laf huge belated congratulations :)

Welcome to all the newbies, feels mad to be moving up the list!

Pie - I am feeling loads of movements now too, although this is my second baby I cannot remember it from the last time as DD is 12 so no idea when I felt movements the last time.

Lili - I hope that things are moving forwards now.

Moomin it is so reassuring to hear the heartbeat eh? Lovely sound :)

Funcham - Good luck with the appointment.

Things are all good this end with bump, still have moments of panic but thanks to doppler and baby kicking I put my mind at ease. I have got sciatica though which is causing me alot of pain especially at night. Has anyone else suffered from this? I could use any tips on how to help with the pain.

LILI80 · 05/04/2012 21:20

Hi Ladies

Just a quick hello to say my beautiful DS Aiden James arrived safe and well on 2nd April at 10.22pm. He was a healthy 8lb 8oz.

He's got lots of blonde fuzzy hair Smile. Will update on the birth when I get the chance but I'm bit of a feeding machine at the minute!

Hope you're all well and it won't be long for you all. Can't believe my little one is finally here! xxx

lili congratulations! It is wonderful to hear of a safe arrival.
My appt wad great, the GP was fully equipped so we heard the heartbeat and all is well. Looking forward to feeling movements in the next few weeks!

LadyMaybe · 07/04/2012 12:20

Congratulations LILI! lovely news and an equally lovely sounding little boy! Looking forward to hearing more details on his birth once you feel up to it and get a few minutes to type the story!

I'm just wondering how KatAndKit and DigitalGirl are doing? You two are at the top now...good lord, that is just amazing to me.

Kat you're being induced, right? How are you feeling about that? I will be too and am feeling ok about it (most days), just trying to work out whether we can afford for me to start having some acupuncture in an attempt to get body ready to go.

I've been having some emotional days recently - I think the Fear keeps coming back at the end, having got so far I'm terrified that something will go wrong. I'm grateful for having got to the stage of having weekly now as even with good movements it just feels like I'm on a knife edge. It doesn't help that last night I completely forgot to do my clexane and insulin injections - was up late and tired. But of course was just waiting for the movements and trying to judge whether they were 'like normal' or not. Everything does seem fine, though. Just got to get through the days...

AmandinePoulain · 10/04/2012 16:02

Hi everyone Smile

How are things at the top kat and digi? Grin

I've just had a lovely 20w scan, she's still a girl Grin and everything looks good Smile. I'm now in minor injuries on the way out of the hospital though - dd has kindly shared her conjunctivitis!

LAF77 · 10/04/2012 19:30

digi has had her baby, a boy, Franco, weighing 9lb! I saw the news on the pred thread over on the conception board.

PieMistress · 10/04/2012 20:36

That's fab amandine ! Glad scan went well! Have you started thinking about names yet?

Congrats to digi on the arrival of Franco! Fab news :) :)

mousebacon · 10/04/2012 21:02

Oh my God! Digi! If you're out there I'm so, so thrilled for you. Will be back with a further emotional outburst once you've been on here xx

Blackkat · 10/04/2012 23:06

Been lurking for news, hurray for digi so many congratulations on the birth if baby Franco. Can't wait to hear from you. So, so thrilled for you all x x x

Will continue to lurk for news from kat

Moominsummermadness · 11/04/2012 10:25

Congratulations to Digi!

Funchum, so glad your GP appointment went well and you got to hear the heartbeat- it's so reassuring, isn't it! I've been umming and ahhing as to whether to buy a doppler for between appointments- MIL has one, and I can always go to her house, but she's a bit matter-of-fact about things and think she would question my sanity if I was asking for it more than once a fortnight. I know it's normal to go a couple of days without feeling early flutters once you've started feeling them, but my anxiety is through the roof at the moment!

Amandine, great news about your 20w scan! I've got mine on 30th April, and have started counting down the days. Hope your conjunctivitis clears up quickly!

Hi to everyone else.

LadyMaybe · 11/04/2012 12:35

Congratulations DIGI - love the name too! wow! You made it!!!!
Hope to hear news of Kat soon.

Amandine fab news re 20-week scan, glad all was well - sorry to hear about eyes though.

I had another A/N appt yesterday, am down to weekly appts now. Mentioned some odd shooting pains I'd been getting in my butt and MW referred me to see physio, called her there and then and I saw her that morning. Apparently have something called sacroiliac joint dysfunction and have to try to 'brace' pelvic floor and lower abdomen when I start walking, and do some exercises. Hoping it helps...although I have to say I'm finding it quite difficult to even work out where my pelvic floor and lower ab muscles even are now...everything feels a bit weird. Baby is only at station 1 engaged, so not that far down yet. Am thinking lots of descending thoughts Grin
