MilkywaysAndBump · 20/03/2012 14:21

Good luck LAF!! Will keep lurking for news!

LAF77 · 20/03/2012 16:27

No news from me, I'm afraid. I have had 2 pessaries, before pessary number 2, I was given a bishops score of 4, 1cm dilated, so very slow progress. I believe I'm going to get another pessary in about an hour. I don't have regular contractions. I'd quite like to have tonight in my own bed instead of the hospital, so we will see what they have to say.

MilkywaysAndBump · 20/03/2012 18:34

How exciting LAF! You might have a due date baby! I missed out by 3 hours which was a shame! Will you have to wait until tomorrow morning for the second attempt at induction with the oxytocin drip if the pessaries don't work?

Welcome loup lovely to have you over here - congratulations :) Wishing you a nice stress-free pregnancy from here on in!

LILI80 · 21/03/2012 18:25

Congratulations loup it's lovely to have a new person here. Wishing you a very relaxing pregnancy Smile

Any news laf Thinking of you xx

Can't believe my due date is here! Just really keeping my fingers crossed my little one won't keep me waiting much longer!

mousebacon · 21/03/2012 19:50

Good luck laf hope it all kicks off for you soon Grin

Hello loup great to see you over here.

No real news from me. Am suffering with tiredness and heartburn but that's to be expected I suppose! Can't wait for the Easter hols now - I'm practically counting down the minutes!

I'm seeing the mw tomorrow for my next check up and bloods and I think it's about time DH and I did sone serious shopping!

LadyMaybe · 22/03/2012 09:38

ooh, I was lurking this morning hoping for news from LAF, but still none. So her waters went but labour didn't start, and she's being induced? I hope it has progressed or that they've made the decision to go for C-section and she's cuddling a squishy newborn right now. Hope you're all ok LAF.

LILI hope you don't have much longer to wait too - won't ask if there are any twinges as that does get quite annoying doesn't it (thinks back to last time when she went more than a week over d-day).

knitter I keep meaning to say, you are a little inspiration to me, you seem to have this steadfast faith that your body will do the right thing and a big baby is nothing to worry about. I guess maybe that comes with having birthed one previously - I'm going to have to start listening to my natal hypnotherapy cds to start getting more positive about the prospect of my (most likely) large bub. I had been feeling totally like I would be able to give birth normallly given the chance and decent support, but now little doubts are creeping in and I really need to get back the VBAC faith!

Things are ok here, still injecting clexane and taking aspirin - there's no talk of that stopping at all, and quite a lot of talk about having to continue the clexane for 6 weeks post-partum (you can imagine how thrilled I am with that idea).
Still on slow-acting insulin overnight, the dose creeps up about every three weeks which they say is absolutely normal and to be expected and generally my sugar control has been very good, which is good as it all gets taken into consideration when it comes to the recommendations they make re: induction etc. when I get closer to 38 weeks.
Got another growth scan next tuesday, so we'll see how everything is tracking compared to the last two. I'm hoping that it's just following the line or decreasing a little and there are no 'ooh it's jumped off the scale' type comments.

Apart from that, I've got DS's 4th birthday party to plan - it's going to be a fireengine/fireman theme (eek! how to do the cake??) and still quite a lot of sorting out of stuff for baby. Haven't packed a bag yet and probably should make a start on that at least, ooh and I did buy a packet of nappies and pack of maternity pads - so not completely disorganised right??

AmandinePoulain · 22/03/2012 10:57

Hi all

Hope it's all going well Laf, looking forward to news! Smile

Enjoy shopping mouse! We don't need much now we know she's a she, the main thing is a pram as we sold dd's, we think we'll go for the Oyster, especially as I can potentially get one second hand Smile

I hope you're not kept waiting for too much longer lili

A fireman cake sounds ambitious lady! Dd wanted Dora for hers so my mum made a square cake that she decorated like a garden and then we bought Dora cake toppers, they sell them on Amazon over here, maybe you can get something similar?

I've got my triple test today. We don't get NT scans here so I haven't got good results from that for reassurance so I'm a little nervous about it. I'm also becoming anxious about my anomaly scan in 3 weeks, I just can't shake the feeling that they'll find something Sad

LAF77 · 22/03/2012 13:07

I can't believe it that I am staring at our much longed for miracle baby, Maxwell Andrew born at 7:37 this morning, weighing 9lbs 8 oz.

It was not an easy labour as the three attempts to induce with prostin failed, but I still had false contractions with prostin that did nothing to my cervix and just gave me a sleepless night.

I went on the syntocin drip yesterday at 7AM and labour progressed slowly over 24 hours until I delivered him this morning. I can't believe I pushed him out myself and he is here. I love him so much.

It has been a long journey to get here, nearly exactly 2 years since my first miscarriage and the support from everyone on these threads has kept me sane in some dark days.

I look forward to hearing about the next new arrivals!

AmandinePoulain · 22/03/2012 13:33

Congratulations laf, sounds like you had a tough time of it though, I hope little Max lets you get some rest Grin

I've been waiting an hour and a half so far to get my bloods done, I'm next though so hopefully not too much longer as dd is bored which means hard work! Grin

Loup23 · 22/03/2012 13:58

Congratulations LAF lovely news, well done you!

Thanks for the warm welcome, look forward to sharing all of your lovely news.

Good luck Amandine

Biscuitsandtea · 22/03/2012 14:00

Marvellous news LAF - enjoy your newborn snuggles and good luck xx

LILI80 · 22/03/2012 14:07

woo hoo! Grin Congratulations Laf so happy for you. Love the name Max it's on my shortlist if this baby's a boy. Wishing you lot's of future happiness. xxx

MilkywaysAndBump · 22/03/2012 16:49

Oh LAF a BIG congratulations! I am so happy for you, I have a little tear in my eye! What a journey you have been through to get here - and I can tell you it only gets better! Enjoy those newborn snuggles and take lots of care of yourself - apricots, arnica and lansinoh!!

mousebacon · 22/03/2012 18:48

Yay!! Congratulations laf that's wonderful news enjoy every second xx

Lady good luck with the party planning - digi is your woman if you're after a themed bash. I seem to remember a lot of planning going into a Thomas party not too long ago! It's lovely to hear everything's progressing well for you xx

Well, I went to see mw today and got diagnosed with SPD! I only mentioned a grinding pain, bad back ache and physiotherapy here I come! Baby's growing well though and that's all I care about. Might have bough a chocolate eclair to 'help with heartburn' too. I'm sure they're calorie free when helping with a genuine medical condition...?

Moominsummermadness · 22/03/2012 18:52

Congratulations Laf! What a thing to be able to tell little Maxwell when he's older. "I knew you were on your way, I farted and my waters broke" Grin

Am thinking about joining you all on here, just trying to work out if I'm brave enough at just 14 weeks! Have heard baby's lovely heartbeat today, thanks to MIL and her doppler left over from her midwifery days.

Twittwooo · 22/03/2012 21:27

Congratulations LAF! Lovely, lovely news despite what sounds like a tough labour. Enjoy your first days (and the rest of your life!) with Maxwell. You have been such a support over the last few months, and I'm so pleased your time has come and things have worked out. Yay!! xx

funchum8am · 23/03/2012 07:00

huge congratulations LAF, and best of luck for getting some rest if you can!

freelancegirl · 23/03/2012 08:51

Just delurking to say a huge congratulations to LAF on the birth of her baby boy. Seems so surreal to look back on those days not so long ago when we were trying to meet up and you were a few weeks pregnant again and we were all so miserable. I wish we could have had a fast forward preview to know that it was all going to work out ok.

Hello to everyone else, so glad to see the babies coming and everyone progressing well! Am just over 22 weeks now too. All going well, due 24th July.

Twittwooo · 23/03/2012 09:57

Lovely to see you on here freelance! I know exactly what you mean about the tough times and feeling like things were never going to work out. It's so lovely to hear positive news and I'm pleased you're doing well at 22 weeks! I'm now 30 weeks and feeling good so far too. xx

freelancegirl · 23/03/2012 10:59

Gosh, 30 weeks is great twittwoo! So pleased it's all going well for you. I am a regular lurker, just tend to loiter more on the Present Thread. But it's so good to see everyone graduating and then having babies, after everything we've been through.
