Work is ok thanks. My boss is still nuts but she's not stopping by for 'chats' every 5 minutes! I'm having to do lots of cover (2 classes at once) which is v tiring but it's only 2 weeks till easter - woop!

Hi everyone, great news funchum and moomin. Lovely to see you both here.

Congratulations of a girl Amandine! Same as us, and I hope the sonographer is right as we now have a lot of girl's clothes!!

Shell - I hope the baby comes soon, fingers crossed.

I'm with you on the countdown to Easter Mouse - we have 2 weeks until the holidays too, and I've been teaching more for the last month too so looking forward to the break. After the holidays I only have 2 weeks until maternity leave and it feels a bit strange. I've never not worked for such a long time, but I'm looking forward to it.

We're enjoying our Hypnobirthing classes, it all makes a lot of sense to me so hopefully all we have learned will help when it comes to the birth. We're trying to get organised with everything now, debating whether to have a moses basket or a crib prior to a cot at the moment. I think we'll probably go with a moses basket. I still feel like we have lots to do, but I'm so busy at work that I'm not sure what! How is everyone else getting along with the preparation?

Thank you! My dad just rang from holiday in Egypt and was so chuffed. It really is lovely to be able to share the news. Now for the big one - hopefully shell is calling people as we speak about a happy arrival...

Just a quick update, but first congrats on all the good scan news

So, we have a baby at last....Harrison Matthew born at 7.10 yesterday weighing 8lb 8.5, he is soooo gorgeous I can't tell you We had a bit of long one (37 hours of contrctions 3-6 mins apart, ouch!), birth plan out the window and ended up with forceps for him and a full spinal for me but all turned out well in the end and he is just perfect

Congrats shell so happy for you that you now have your baby. Welcome to the world Harrison!

Those heartbeat monitors that strap on to your tummy and have two sets of headphones are reduced in mothercare at the moment (I was in there playing with prams despite not even being 17 weeks yet ) so I couldn't resist! I'm not sure I found a hb but I definitely heard what sounded like regular little thumps which the instructions inform me are hiccups, and then whilst on a mummy night out last night I think I felt them too...what a lovely, long awaited feeling

How are you laff hopefully not much longer for us now! Have you had any signs things might be progressing? I just keep getting period pain that comes and goes, I'm keeping my fingers crossed I'm not induced with this one too!

Hi lili nothing to see here from me! I was so concerned about premature birth as I was a preemie, but now, there is a chance I could go overdue. I was in pieces about it this morning. I haven't slept well for a couple of days and the waiting is getting to me. I have a MW appt on Wednesday so not sure if I will be examined to see how ready I am.

Welcome to the thread amandine and funchum may you have an uneventful next few months! I never thought I'd be here at the top of the list, but here I am!

And just as I go to post this, I farted and my waters broke! I don't know if I'm ready for this!

I should be so lucky! Nothing seems to be happening though. I have to go in at lunch time to be checked.

Thanks, hospital is on divert this morning, so I have to ring back in 2 hours to go in. My MW friend from the local hospital said that they would want to start to induce me after 18 hours if labour isn't progressing. Induction isn't in my birth plan, but que sera sera.
