just lurking for news on knitter and dachs - so glad to see that everything is going so well. I can't quite believe Teddy is 10 weeks old and a proper little man now. 13lb 5 today and if you saw how much he drank it would make total sense. He's now sleeping through the night from bedtime at 8.30pm via a dream feed at 10.30pm - so lucky although with previous experience of DD1 I've probably got another few weeks until night wakings start! His birth seems like a long way away now - phew! Thinking of everyone and can I reiterate what amazing support everyone has been. I'm not sure if anyone can point me in the right direction for the grads facebook page - I'd love to post a picture. With love to you all and wishing everyone a safe and happy pregnancy and a pain free birth - just like the girl with the outfit in the birthing pool on One Born Every Minute. Wow! xxxx

Velvetcu · 19/01/2012 18:34

Youremindmeofthebabe · 20/01/2012 19:17

Knitter and twitt congratulations on being team pink! Lovely news.

So, I went in for induction on Wednesday at+13.arrived at 3pm, was put on a ctg to check movements and all that jazz. All good so had a prostin pessary at 5pm which I could feel giving me a sore back almost straight away. Had to stay on the ctg for another hour with a progressively more sore back. When I got off the machine and stood up I started contracting properly roughly every 4 mins, had a walk, a bath etc. Was doing a count and breathing thing roughly like hypnobirthing which helped a bit. Midwife changed over at , and was told I would get a VE soon. By 9.30 was really uncomfy, asked for pain relief and was given 2 cocodamol(!). Asked for a VE and was told in 5 mins..around 1030 went to the toilet and something went pop which in retrospect was probably my waters, and started getting an involuntary urge to push. Summoned the midwife and was examined-8 cm dilated. It all went a bit quick after that and was transferred to the labour ward and got some gas and got some gas and air- which seemed brilliant- it never seemed to work in my first labour! Baby boy was born at 1205 pm so the 19th jan weighing 8pm 2oz. Unfortunately I haemmoraged afterwards and ended up on a drip for 5 hours. Stitched up and all good to go!
And that's me! All done. I had forgotten how bloody hard BF in the first few days was, but all seems ok so far.
Good luck to you all. I hope time flies and you are cradling your new babies very soon. Big love xx

LAF77 · 20/01/2012 19:41

Well done YMROTB congrats on the birth of your son. It sounds like your labour experience went well!

Just dropping in to say well done and huge congratulations to YRMOTB, it's so lovely to see all these babes arriving Smile.

Congratulations to knitter and twitt too and great news mouse on reaching 20weeks.

I'm currently 19 weeks and although we've had 5 scans and everything is looking ok this time I think I'll wait until after anomaly scan next Fri before adding myself to the list, if that's ok?

Great to see Dachs ticking off all those milestones too Grin xx

Velvetcu · 20/01/2012 22:50

Oh gawd I thought I was meant to be over the pregnancy hormones by now! Just had a scroll through the babies born bit of the list and it's started me off bawling coz it's so lovely how many babies we've made after having our hearts broken!

laylasmummy09 · 21/01/2012 07:52

Baby jacob was born at 3 52 weighing 7 lb 3 and a half oz this morning after a 6 hour labour yay! I arrived at hospital fully dilated and was pushing for 1 hour but needed episiotomy and he was born 2 pushes later, he has fed for an hour and we should be allowed home this morning as long as his temperature stays up,
Thankyou all for sharing this experience with us I know I wouldn't have been brave enough to keep trying if it wasn't for your support, our family will never feel totally complete but we are content in the fact that we didn't give up and got a little brother for our baby girl, again thankyou all Grin

Congratulations yrmotb and laylas!!! So happy for you!

Currently typing one handed with a hungry hippo whos been awake and feeding every 2 hours since 9pm last night!! :)

KnitterNotTwitter · 21/01/2012 20:30

Fabulous news Layla sounds like a really good delivery - hope they let you home soon...

I've attempted another jinx and started rummaging out the baby stuff from the loft before I get to big to get in the loft!! Small washable nappies are now in the bathroom cupboard and the XL washable ones that have been lurking in there since DS toilet trained nearly a year ago are back in the loft. And I've got out the box of newborn and the box of 0-3mo clothes. DS wanted to try on one of the little t-shirts but had to admit in the end that he was a bit big now... In fact he's twice the size he was when he was born!

Next trip into the loft will be stuff like carseat and crib so I think that can wait a bit nearer the time and be a job for DH to do :)

Also today I went to Pregnancy Pilates - I did it religously when pregnant with DS from 12 weeks but I didn't want to commit to the course until I was feeling more confident with this one... So cheque for nearly £100 was only handed over today! Bean and I quite enjoyed ourselves although it has to be said that I'd've rather just spent an hour dozing on the floor listening to the plinky plonky music :)

I've also told the universe I'm pregnant by posting it on FB... Everyone very excited and no one querying why I've left it so late to tell people which I was fearing.

So a good day...

My last jinx step is to freecycle off my ovulation and pregnancy sticks that are going to go out of date in the next six months.... Because I WILL NOT BE NEEDING THEM. Oh No, Not Me. As I will stay pregnant until May and then be totally unavailable for any sort of hanky panky jiggy wiggy stuff for at least 6 weeks if not longer... so there!

digitalgirl · 21/01/2012 22:21

Knitter you're doing very well with getting baby clothes out of the loft! I'm waiting for the builders to go before getting all the clothes and stuff down. And after doing one or two classes in November will be resuming Pregnancy Yoga next week - pelvis allowing.

Just a bought an Ergo carrier off eBay for DH! Want a slingwrap too but hoping to hear from friend who said she'd lend me hers.

OP posts:
mousebacon · 22/01/2012 07:53

Morning! We got the newborn size clothes out of the loft too - who knew I had so many white vests and sleepsuits?! I'm going to wait until the weather warms up a bit before I wash them though - I'm looking forward to hanging them all out on the line!

I looked into pregnancy yoga but the woman wanted £10 a session which I thought was ridiculous! I would love to do something though...

Twittwooo · 22/01/2012 08:01

Congratulations on your scan mouse - great news!
Lovely news yrmotb and laylas - congratulations on the birth of your babies!
You sound very organised Knitter and are making me think I need to get a move on with sorting things out! As this baby will be my first, I'm feeling a bit clueless.

We've been researching travel systems and realise there is so much to think about. I have a tiny car and we live in a small second floor flat, so our options will be limited but we've been thinking about the Petite Star Zia 4 and the Luna from Mamas and Papas - does anyone have experience of these? I'm most confused about the car seat to be honest and how to determine how good they are. I've read you can't have a little baby in a car seat for longer than an hour or so. What do people do if they need to travel for longer than that? Oh so confused .. and this is just the beginning!

Velvetcu · 22/01/2012 08:45

twitt we have a carrycot part for our pram which is also a car seat. Eva's just about grown out of it now (14 weeks on Tuesday) but I was much happier having her laying down for the first few months.

I'm doing the opposite knitter, digi and mouse - I've packed up a box of stuff to go into the loft. I'm so pleased that you are all doing well and at the stage where you can start to believe you might actually have a baby Grin
