Fingers crossed for you yrmotb

stitch I had my first NCT class on Thursday evening it went fine hope you enjoy today. Wink

LAF77 · 07/01/2012 16:54

knitter so many of the ones that we have come across in the shops are vests and long sleeves with the "pop crotch" but don't have the leggings and the feet. I call them baby grows and the ones with the feet sleep suits. Perhaps I'm wrong!

I assume that for the first while, my baby will be swaddled, so leggings and feet, won't be quite as essential. I'm due to give birth on the 21st March, so potentially spring will be here and the temperatures won't be quite as cold, but with how mild January has been, who knows what might happen!

I have also read various reports to say that bigger babies are easier to deliver. I'm not quite sure of how that works, but here's to hoping! At the moment, I keep glancing down to watch baby get up to something in the top corner or my bump!

3/5ths engaged purpletoes ? Perhaps baby isn't too far away!

I hope harassed is OK.

YRMMOTB I hope that your baby will be here soon. Here's to hoping that tomorrow is the magic day!

I see that milkyways has her EDD tomorrow, so perhaps we will have a flurry of announcements soon!

MilkywaysAndBump · 07/01/2012 22:50

I really hope so LAF! I had a bloody show a few hours ago and totally panicked upon seeing the blood. After associating blood with bad things in all my pregnancies, I guess it just caught me off guard, so the first thing I did was take out the doppler and have a listen in to see if baby was okay! Stupid really, because he's been bopping around on my cervix all day!

I've been getting niggly period type pain and pressure down below since then. Hope I can go into labour on my due date!!

Purpletoes · 08/01/2012 11:39

Fingers crossed that it all starts for you milkyways

I hope my baby doesn't arrive too early need a week just to
Get things organised! Grin anytime after 37 weeks suits me! Obviously not holding out for that timetable.

On phone at work so apologise for lack of personals only 3 days left before ml!

Velvetcu · 08/01/2012 12:56

Hellooo

I'm way behind here so I'll have a read and catchup properly later!

Hope you are all good Grin

LAF77 · 08/01/2012 13:27

Sounds like you could be in the early stages of labour milky how exciting!

KnitterNotTwitter · 08/01/2012 21:16

Milky Ooooh - good luck - hope it all goes beautifully for you.

LAF the consensus on Babygros and Sleepsuits !!

Another quiet day here - DH and I cleared the shed out and threw all sorts of crap away - all stuff now fits back into shed without it being totally dangerous to actually go in there!

Gradually drifting on towards the next scan on the 17th. My reoccurring nightmare is that DH, MIL and I are in the room and they find that the bean has no hb. MIL says something hideous albeit well meaning and I then wake up in a cold sweat and lie there until I can feel the bean shifting around when I can finally relax again :) Bloody pregnancy brain/panic-ness

LadyMaybe · 09/01/2012 09:39

Hi all, been away visiting MIL just back yesterday and am just feeling a little caught up on the washing mountain, still so much to do.
Haven't read much just last few posts but it looks like LAF has had a good result on teh GTT, which is great. I've just been put on insulin overnight (so switched clexane to the mornings) which seems to be doing the trick on the blood sugars when I wake up, which is good news as it was getting a bit worrying thinking that the baby was being exposed to too much sugar while I was sleeping.
Anyway, will spend some time catching up in the next few days - hope to see some lovely new babies.

stitchinline · 10/01/2012 09:58

harassed, milkys and YRMOTB - hope you are all enjoying your newborn snuggles by now.

Am absolutely loving being on ML, I just feel so in control of things now that I actually have time to get myself organised. Been trying to do all the more physical jobs now like clearing out cupboards and sorting through things.
I think dh is enjoying coming home to a more interesting meal and a much happier wife, I was just so stressed and worked up before christmas! I just feel I can actually enjoy being pregnant now. Although the aches and pains do make that difficult at times.

NCT classes have started well - 6 other couples so hopefully will be able to do some sort of meet ups. my main reason for doing the classes is the network part as most of my friends over here are from work I don't really know many people that are in a similar situation to me. The only downer about being home is the lack of interaction with other people.

LAF pleased your GTT was OK, I had a similar issue with scans and measures but it seems I'm just growing a biggie. Not really surprising as I was big (nearly 10lb) myself and dh wasn't a tiddler either. I apparently measure 2 weeks ahead but that has been pretty consistent all along.

knitter so glad you could get some reassurance, I love the sneaky scan work. You have had such a difficult time to get to this stage that any wibbles are very understandable

purple yay for engagement - hoping at my next mw appointment she will tell me pudding has finally decided to stop flipping about and move into position, somehow with the movements I'm feeling I'm not sure it will be the case though Hmm

lady good work on the blood sugars

I still can't quite believe that things are going so well for me now, I love that I can feel her squirming around in there and that all seems to be well. am just so thankful that I have got to this stage and that all is OK, fx it stays that way. Still have lots of wibbles about something going wrong but then my whole stomach shifts and I just have to smile :)

waves to everyone I've missed, leaves out a plate of cookies now I actually have time to bake Biscuit

MilkywaysAndBump · 10/01/2012 13:26

Hi all! I would like to announce the safe arrival of my little boy born on 09/01/2012 at 2.47am weighing 6lbs 2.5oz. The period pain I had in Saturday turned into mild contractions throughout Sunday. Went unto hospital at 11.30pm on Sunday and was in active labour. Midwife broke my waters at 2am and i started pushing at about 2.30. Hewas born after 4 pushes. No epidural just gas and air. Also had 2 stitches and am quite sore. Because he is tiny for dates they're keeping us in for 3 days until baby puts on substantial
Weight. He is perfect! Just want to say thanks to all for all the support since last year. I never thought I would hold this baby bur here I am'! Feeling a bit tired now - hope you're all well!

stitchinline · 10/01/2012 13:28

Wonderful news milkys Grin so pleased you're getting your snuggles

Purpletoes · 10/01/2012 13:31

Congratulations milky
Grin
On second last day at work counting down the hours to mat leave!
Will catch up properly later.

LAF77 · 10/01/2012 14:56

Congratulations milky! Excellent news and glad to hear it all went swimmingly.

I am still waiting. Induction threatened for Monday, but don't really want to accept, will be +11 then. Had a sweep yesterday and after some promising signs, nothing really progressed. Quite grumpy and very emotional. Sorry to be all mememe. Hope all are well and beans are behaving themselves.

yrmotb fx baby gets a move on soon!

stitchinline · 11/01/2012 10:24

YRMOTB fx that it all starts moving soon and I think a me me me post is perfectly justified in the circumstances, or at any time really !

my new cleaner started today - yay - i love listening to the sound of someone else cleaning my flat

busy trying to organise some accommodation for my parents when they come to visit us in March - quite scary how soon that is especially as that means I should have my baby by then - eeek - runs off to hide under covers

KnitterNotTwitter · 11/01/2012 16:32

lovely news milky hope the minimilk puts on weight and they let you home soon.

YRMOTB Good luck for the next few days...

Less than a week to my scan now... assuming all goes well I'm going to finally announce the pregnancy on Facebook...

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 11/01/2012 16:55

Just popping in to say congratulations and welcome to all the new arrivals - it's been busy recently!! Lovely to see lots of good news Grin Grin

KnitterNotTwitter · 11/01/2012 21:44

having a funny day today... I've heard that a family friend is pregnant with her second - due a month or so before me... And I was hit by this incredible jealousy. There seem to be so many people who don't have problems conceiving... My benchmark in this is people who have two children younger than mine.... And today it feels like EVERYONE has two children younger than mine...

I'm sure that by tomorrow I'll be over this but tonight it all seems very unfair...

Sorry for the downer... hugs to you all

LAF77 · 12/01/2012 20:37

knitter I still have my funny days too. Don't beat yourself up about feeling envious or strange about other friend's families.

I saw for the first time over Christmas a friend who had a daughter the same age my second lost pg. It was hard because I knew that we were missing someone from our family.

You have to carry around these "what might have beens" with you.

Thinking of you YRMOTB
