minnie I'm gutted about Steve. I've been lathering on bio oil / mamma mio anti stretchmark oil AND a body butter since week 10 and was counting on my generous proportions and every one of my 35 years to protect me against them. Sigh. May your skin stay undamaged :)

Re nappies: I've always used own brand when they're tiny. You go through SO many then. Although saying that, I've got several packets of Huggies as they were on offer. Used Tesco's own a lot with dd as heard they're one layer different to Pampers. Basically I just used what was the cheapest, whether own brand,or branded on offer. Sign up with all the nappy manufacturers and they'll send you money off vouchers too. I've been given a huge box of reusables. Going to give them a go, even if just at home. The idea of carrying a pooh-y nappy round in my bag doesn't appeal I have to say!

I'm planning on bf'ing but have bought a steriliser, and will get bottles and formula. Just in case.

Still off work (one more week to go!),and have consultant today at 3pm. Hoping he can perform a miracle, I'm fed up with the constant pain from hips/pelvis unless I'm monged out on cocodamol. Also bored!! Online shopping is not the same as mooching round the shops with dd & dh .

Woohoo daisy what lovely news to wake up to and such a beautiful name too congratulations.
Been up most of the night with DD she has a stinking cold and keeps waking up all stuffy nosed and thirsty so she was in with us from 4 30 watching night garden
The good news is I don't have OC but still feeling very rough since coming off anti sickness meds so ill be having a word with my midwife tomorrow at my appointment I hope there's something I can do because it's a satarting to get me down and there's such a long way to go yet,

We're in the middle of our house painting job, so things are a bit hectic around here! Hope everyone is well - it feels like my little one is running a marathon inside me today!

Are any of you still preggers ladies feeling but of all these new bubbas? Or is it just me? I might have to go home and spend some time with my babygro's and bargain nipple pads tonight. Having been on this list for a while now, following the different experiences we all have and then hearing about the births is, for me, making this pregnancy a reality for the first time for me really and I now want the happymeal here (although clearly in about 9 weeks is fine). It's lovely.

bigmac I agree with your last sentiment, knowing Daisy's bean is now here makes it all seem finally real to me, and for the first time I can feel my tummy getting that little excited feeling...

And Velvet I remember the day you got the bfp, and I can't believe it's 36 weeks already !!

I am just popping in to say I heard my baby's heartbeat today :)

Thanks for all the advice on baby baths and not getting over-confident about b/feeding. I was feeling very underconfident before the workshop but knowledge is power and all that! We had our final scan today and all seems to be doing well and boringly average on most of the scales, but boring is just fine with me! junior is head down already and sonographer seemed to think at this stage they stay that way - makes me wonder how it doesn't make them dizzy!

sometimes Blackkat I thinkk it's gone really quickly then other times I think it's been the longest 9 months ever!

yay hairy for the hb, I am so pleased that it is all so far so good for you :)

mac I agree that seeing all these lovely ladies reach the end of the rollercoaster and actually have their babies when we've been together since the beginning (for most of us I think) is wonderful and a huge reality check and yes it does mack me want miniV here now!

wiw I've got lots of stuff happening but its probably just boring normal stuff! I have a few really strong branstons every day and miniV headbutts my cervix pretty hard! Have also had a dodgy stomach for a week now but apart from that everything is calm and baby moves a lot which I thought they stopped doing when they were ready to come out?

I'm actually under a bit of pressure as to when I can go into labour tbh - DH was made redundant for the end of September and has a new job which starts next Monday. Problem is it's for F1 and he has to go to the Japan grand prix on Monday for a week! So I know the chances are she wont come early but it's a worry. There is noone else I would want as a birth partner either (except my dog but I dont think that's allowed!)

Quick post from me as I need to get in the shower. Dh has taken the day off, so he's on school run duty. We're sorting out today - the spare/junk/baby room. Was meant to be done at the weekend but he had a job to price up, and it's starting to stress me out!

velvet have a think about a backup birth partner just in case. Although I'm a great believer in your body not giving birth until you're mentally ready too. Or what about a doula?

Consultant was very nice yesterday, which was good as he has a bit of a fierce reputation. We had a good chat though about economics, state of the nhs that kind of thing !! Baby is measuring 30 wks (I'm 28 tomorrow) but he's not overly worried although I have GTT on Monday just in case & due to my age. He said I categorically won't have to have a cs due to spd, as that can actually make it & recovery from it worse. He does however want to induce me on my due date if I haven't had him first. So looks like I'll have a baby for Christmas !!!! Although ideally I'd like a home birth still, but he said we can assess that nearer to the time. Bug was a little monkey and scooting away from the doppler, but mw caught him eventually. He's head down and down the left side....... good news, hope he stays there!!! He won't engage until I actually go into labour as not my first. Nothing he could do about spd, unsurprisingly, but recommended acupuncture (must check our funds!) and if I can't cope at work then don't force myself.
