Hey there
Using the 'mn app' today so hoping it works ok!
Welcome lili fab to have you here, sorry to hear people are being dickish at work, sounds like big fat sour grapes to me, although not nice to have to deal with.

cep sounds like progress to me, reckons you'll be sharing those biscuits in the ml unit soon!

Realised I can't now scroll back and remember what anyone has said but I can use the symbols easily! Blush

As for me-have a sudden bad bout of some kind of pelvic pain, feels like someone came in in the night and chopped the tendons connecting my legs to my torso, so when I try to go to walk it doesn't quite work! Baby feels like it has a periscope, not really kicking anymore but scraping along anywhere it wants to and feeling v tightly packed in Grin

Will look into the sling that someone recommended-was looking at a mamasling one (think that's what it was called) the other day-looked quite gd.

Well, 2 more hrs of work to go...

shellshock7 · 09/11/2011 16:36

Sorry not posted for aaages, having a bit of a bad time with PGP (got physio on Thurs though) and persistent diarrhea, very annoying and not the fault of the mussels as I first thought, off to GP tomorrow so hope for some relief!

So....congrats to mumya, irene, hils and katherine wow!!! Grin All boys and all great names, we are team blue as well so very exciting seeing all the boys coming!

Hi LAF good to see you over hear now and congrats on the scan and team blue Smile

cep this all sounds very exciting, hope things are still progressing.

Hi lili and congrats on your pg. As others have said you are as entitled as anyone else to the job....a colleague of mine was promoted while she was on maternity leave....so try and ignore the comments.

stitchinline · 09/11/2011 17:11

LILI lovely to see you - yay for more people on the list to keep me company at the bottom. That's terrible about your work - what an awful way to be treated.

doo sounds very unfomfortable, good on you for getting organised. I'm waiting til I start ML and then going crazy - or as crazy as one can in a one bed flat that is already bursting at the seams. :)

Cep It all sounds very exciteing - so was it nursery or the ML unit tonight?

YRMOTB you need to get out the frozen peas and play music at your janjo to entice it down :o

Bigmac getting very close to the top there, things are hotting up again in here I think

Collie that good news about interview for DH

I'm having an OK week, horrible back pain and have puked a few times when I was a bit slow getting the antacids down but otherwise OK, DH and I have nicknamed bump Lilith - very pretty name but meaning is night demon which seems rather appropriate from the noises that come out of me at night (or other times) Blush

DH is a very methodical person and has only made it to the letter E in the baby name book, only doing one a night which is driving me bananas. I want to talk about baby names!

On a rather exciting note DB and SIL are expecting DC2, means we'll have to postpone trip home til June next year but fab news all the same.

cep · 09/11/2011 17:23

quick update, pains every 10 mins but not too strong yet, lasting less than a min. dh has gone to band practice, with the understanding he may get a call to come back. Will call mlu when pains stronger or longer.

Biscuitsandtea · 09/11/2011 17:27

Oooh, CEP - GOOD LUCK!!!!! Thinking some nice calming speedy efficient pain free labour thoughts for you.

And welcome Lili - hoping I can tag on the end of the list after Friday which is my 20 week scan - eeeeeek!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/11/2011 17:33

Ooh cep how exciting!!! Good luck!!! xxx

stitchinline · 09/11/2011 18:14

Very exciting cep

CollieandPup · 09/11/2011 20:14

cep good luck! Exciting!!!!

LILI it's so lovely to see you on here! 21 weeks is a great milestone, how are you feeling? I'm Shock at your colleague and Angry on your behalf! How dare she! Just because you are having a baby means your not entitled to a career or opportunities???! You'll be going back (I assume) and so have every right to better your position. If she was the best person for the job, she'd have got it over you! Cheeky cow!! Maybe she should see it as an opportunity as they'll need temporary mat cover- perhaps she could apply for that Grin

I feel like I've been having BH ALL DAY!!! But no pattern really, so still no action so to speak!!! I'm shattered! Feeling rather low too. Took one of my cats to the vet today, for what I though was just his skin allergy. Took him for treatment but had take him back this afternoon when he took a turn for the worse. Turns out he has acute renal failure. His kidneys aren't working and they aren't sure he'll get through the night. He's only 4 and every so slight. I'm so Sad and worried. Lots of positive thoughts for him would be appreciated..

Biscuitsandtea · 09/11/2011 20:24

Collie - you poor thing! Hope your wee cat is ok xxx

But also good luck for when those BH turn into something else!

And I meant to say earlier Lili - Angry on your behalf at your colleague! She just has no right whatsoever to do that! As Collie said, if she was the best person for the job, she would have got it! Gah! How silly of her! I can't even believe it!

Hope everyone else is well.

Seems like babies are always popping out on this thread - I feel decades behind you all!!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/11/2011 20:44

Bless you collie - I do hope your cat's ok x

Am posting from hospital after a horribly quiet couple of days with few movements and they were all...I don't know, just a bit feeble? Rang tonight and was told to come in for a trace. Baby refused to cooperate for the first half hour but woke up after a couple of glasses of cold water and is apparently fine - phew!!! I can't believe how scary it was. Just waiting to be discharged now then I can go home to dh...

bigmacandhappymeal · 09/11/2011 20:51

Hi lili welcome and congratulations... as the others have said, what a cow that colleague is. I wonder if she has ever heard of sour grapes??

cep how exciting! Hope the night passes smoothly and that there will be exciting news tomorrow

izzy poor you but really glad all is well - hope you get home very soon

collie all crossed for your poor cat

biscuits the scary thing is, before you know it you'll be next in line for the baton Wink

doo ouch

Sorry not to do a fuller catch up - I'm shattered tonight

Biscuitsandtea · 09/11/2011 20:53

Oh Izzy bless you - do glad you've been checked out xxx

Biscuitsandtea · 09/11/2011 20:54

So glad, not do glad Blush

laylasmummy09 · 09/11/2011 21:06

[Angry] lili what a miserable woman she must be to actually phone you and say that she must have no dignity!

Its good to see the list getting longer, good luck biscuits hope your scan goes well,
cep good luck for tonight I hope you have an easy labour, can't wait to hear of your new arrival, you were one of the first peopple I spoke to after my first mc and you made me feel so welcome its great that you are getting out the other side of this you're almost there! [Smile]

LILI80 · 09/11/2011 22:19

Evening!

Ahh thanks you guys for such a lovely welcome - I've got tears in my eyes from all your nice comments it makes such a difference from the horrible ones I've had recently!

laf I don't know if it's a boy or girl! I opted for a surprise this time round (I found out with DD) Feels strange not knowing though. I had to be induced with my DD so my money's on your little one coming out first Smile

Collie lovely to hear from you! Sounds like you won't have much longer to wait! Smile

cep Fingers crossed the little one gets a move on - how exciting!

Will try and catch up properly tomorrow with everyone but thank you all again - it really does mean a lot to me.

xx

harassedandherbug · 10/11/2011 10:39

Morning!

Cep hope everything's going smoothly and you're snuggled up with a newborn Grin.

Collie I hope your cat is ok, v sad. We've not had much luck with animals over the last couple of years so we're very protective of our little cat. Does sound like things are moving forward for you though. Rest lots when you can x

LILI welcome, and sorry you're having a crap time. You might want to point out to your colleagues that being pregnant is not grounds not to get a job/promotion and is in fact discrimination...... Then just feel a bit smug that you got the job and they didn't Grin. I do sympathise though, as having a bit of a crap time myself with work.

Izzy glad everything is ok. I had this last week and it's scary isn't it?! Baby does seem to be changing his routine iykwim. Mine also took ages to get.

doo how is pelvis/legs today? Hope it's all ok and you can get some rest. Movements here are also changing to scraping & stretching rather than full blown kicks, although trampolining on my bladder seems to be favourite!

I had mw last night and bug is 2/5th engaged, but that doesn't mean much as it's dc4 and he could just pop right back out! I hope he's not too comfy there as he's down my right side, and I'd prefer him down the left.... But right side is comfiest (is that a word??!) for my hips/pelvis. Mw also recommended that I give up work now as I'm in so much pain, not sleeping and am pretty exhausted. I wish I drunk coffee, but can't stand the stuff!! So I have gp's tonight and will see what she says, but hoping she'll sign me off for a couple of weeks (34 wks today) then I'll have to go on mat leave.

Mw is booked to come to me in 2 weeks and bring the home birthing box! V exciting! Dh had me in fits of giggles the other night Grin. We were lying in bed in the dark chatting, and he asked what he needs to wear for the birth, does he need to buy something, or normal or work clothes..... Turns out he's got it into his head that because it's a homebirth he'll be doing a lot more than last time at the birth centre. I nearly sent myself into labour laughing. Poor thing, no wonder he's been a bit freaked out about it all Grin.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 10/11/2011 14:23

Oh no Izz what a worry. Glad to hear all is well, bet you are glad to be home.

collie how very sad for your poor cat. I hope all is well.

And cep I am so excited! Come on baby!

stitch what music did we decide on, was it a bit of TT?Grin

mousebacon · 10/11/2011 20:18

Lots of love collie xxx

wombatinwaiting · 11/11/2011 08:47

Any news from our cep? REally hope it's all gone smoothly and you're enjoying your LO xx

Naughty babyizzy causing you worries like that.... so glad all is ok and hope you're back home safe and sound.

Are you making the most of your ml bigmac? In answer to your question, we used Durex Play sensitive lube.

YRMOTB - we did say TT but that doesn't rule out something more funky - we should experiment and see which band works best!

I'm with your m/w harassed - you should give up work, especially as you're having such a crappy time of it.

And talking of crappy times at work - am also Angry and Shock at your colleagues lili - what a bunch of muppets. WElcome to the thread and do persuade whoever else you can to join - our list is getting too short!

REally sorry to hear the Sad news about your cat collie - seems to be a bit of a thing as ours disappeared 10 days ago. Thinking of you xx

stitch - am curious. Where do you live that means you have to postpone a trip home? I am nosey!

wombatinwaiting · 11/11/2011 08:49

All fine here by the way - just getting a little irritated by the parents who are here for 2 and a bit weeks - must be patient as I only get to see them about twice a year..... mum has some interesting advice about epidurals - she seems to have forgotten that her own personal experience is nearly 40 years out of date!!

Did have a good chuckle about your DH and his extra active role harassed Grin

stitchinline · 11/11/2011 09:49

Just wondering how things are going with Cep? Hope all is good and you come back soom with newborn snuggle stories

YRMOTB - you do have to be careful with the music selection as you don't want to scare it away Wink

collie so sorry to hear about your kitty cat. sending

wiw i'm in the UK but home is australia, have been here 5 years now and miss it like crazy. we are hoping to move next year at least to HK which would be a little closer

harrassed that is exactly the sort of thing my DH would think, had a good giggle

izzy so glad everything is OK, t must be so scary - although to me everything about the whole pregnancy thing is scary

Blackkat · 11/11/2011 10:17

izzy so pleased all ok, what a nasty scare tho x x

yrmotb music is your choice, let us know how you get on

collie so sorry to hear about your cat xx any update on dh interview?

wiw hang in there with the advice! Mil on way here today so I am expecting a gutful of it

Midwife yesterday baby has now been fully engaged for 2 weeks so wife jokingly said she was in call nxt wknd so would be around for the home birth!

< frantically waves at mouse glad you're booked in x x

at everyone else, will properly catch up when not on phone.
Good luck to the 20 wk scanner today, is it biscuits?

cep · 11/11/2011 12:35

Hello Ladies, sorry to take so long coming back, i have now put piccies on the fb page. Alexander George born yesterday morning at 01:35 weighing 7lb 2oz (exactly the same as ds no1) labour ended up being pretty quick or last bit was. Contractions every 10 mins from about 4pm picked up to every 5 about 9, Called mlu and went in about 10, seemed to start coming really quickly shortly after i got there, checked me and i was 4 cms. Was in the pool which was great, (i bled a lot which is normal for me) so they though waters had gone, checked me again about 12 - 12.30 at this point, they hadn't but i was 5 cms, they think the waters were holding things up so decided to wait and see in anothr hr. then about 30 mins later another load of blood when the mw thought there was meconium so told me to get out, there wasn't as the waters still hadn't gone so out came the crochet needle, (i was 6-7 cms at this point) 35 mins later his head appeared. I was able to survive on just g&a which i was pleased about. I was on all fours at the end so only got away with grazes even though he had a hand up, so only a few stitches.

Xander swallowed some of the gunk as he came out so quickly in the end, so he wasn't sucking at the breast at all, just wasn't interested, they were getting a bit worried about sending me home as the mlu closes at 8 unless a woman is labouring, so they were close to sending me to the main hosp to make sure he has something, but i suggested giving a little formula so they were happy after that. he's started sucking now (a little) but not long enough to actually get anything, but now he's over 24 hrs apparently i can express so i'll be expressing rather than giving him cow and gate until he sucking and feeding off me properly. Feeling sore, and tired but otherwise very happy.

Oh and an idea for those having baby no2 or more, take pain killers in your bag for those after pains.

collie so sorry about your cat hon, i hope he's ok.

izzy so glad everything was ok, i hate it when they do that so scary.

good luck wiw for the 2 wk visit. Grin good luck collie and wiw for the next few days/weeks.

stitchinline · 11/11/2011 13:25
