Having a freak out that he'll be a Wednesday's child. Tell me I'm being a nut job! Don't want to have to stretch this out any longer than I have to!

Biscuitsandtea · 02/11/2011 08:53

What is the rhyme for Wednesday's child?

bigmacandhappymeal · 02/11/2011 09:04

Morning all

irene you are being a nutjob :) I say go and give DH a proper boost of the tens machine on number 10. WIll be dipping in today to see how you are getting on my dear x

biscuits allegedly Wednesday's child is full of woe. Total nonsense etc etc. I'

dachs glad to hear the op went well - FX for a very relaxing 26 weeks :) Do you have to do anything special now or is it a case of just getting on with it?

I'm meeting the ladies from my NCT class for lunch today (i'm working from home). A lovely bunch and we had a good final lesson on Monday night. Teacher v unbiased on pain relief and CS which was really comforting.
Have good day's everyone

dooscooby · 02/11/2011 11:56

Massive congrats to mummya and welcome to the world little Max. Hope you're ok after the GA etc.

daisy thanks for checking in and offering your support. I'm feeling much better this week thanks. I think it's a combination of 3 nights with 5 hours unbroken sleep (feel like a different person), work stress being finally over and I also feel relieved for talking about some of my fears with mw etc. I felt like it was a bit taboo to be concerned about things like late loss and pnd and I should really be feeling more positive by now, but now I've shared it I feel much better. I've been lucky enough to have a hosp counsellor who I saw after the m/cs and then during the first trimester, and she's happy to see me weekly now until I feel ok, so that's great. I'm pleased you've stayed wobble free up to now - sounds like you take a very sensible approach to looking after yourself which is the most important thing.

irene - hope all is going well as I type. I agree with whoever else said it that you should TENS the hell out of the DH for his sleep behaviour!

izzy - yey for being head down.

dachs - glad the op went ok and was in time, I hope you have a restful week planned.

bigmac - nice to hear from you - hope the last week of work is going ok - I completely see how it can make you feel wibbly, such a big change and all and things must feel very real once you've got literally days left. I expect the anticipation is worse than the actuality and you'll be loving your mat leave this time next week!

Right - best get on. Big waves to everyone else

Purpletoes · 02/11/2011 12:12

Biscuitsandtea · 02/11/2011 13:31

Oooh, I've only just clocked that we've had two babies called Max! Lovely name Smile

cep · 02/11/2011 14:00

oh lord that puts me near the top. why does it feel like that suddenly happened?

Biscuitsandtea · 02/11/2011 14:10

Now Cep, that would be because you're due in 3 days!!! Grin

katherine2008 · 02/11/2011 16:06

cep i'm feeling your vertigo, even if I'm not feeling any blooming movement. Wink any news from irene?

katherine2008 · 02/11/2011 16:06

when I say movement I mean action - dc2 is still fairly active...

cep · 02/11/2011 20:07

officially my dd isn't until the 10th like yours katherine the 5th was based on lmp and my stubborness to relive those 5 days. so really anytime between sat and thursday will be classed as on time.

wombatinwaiting · 03/11/2011 05:27

Wonderful, wonderful news mummya! Congrats on the safe arrival of Max and hope you are recovering well after the placenta accreta (confess I had to look it up....) Hope too that DS1 is loving having a baby brother.

Any news from you irene? I assume as nothing overnight that you are mid throes - hope so anyway!

Oooooh katherine, cep and hils - really not long to go for you guys!

Thanks for the advice on the changing mat / muslin thing.

Leaves lemon drizzle cake for all and a request for any tips to cure insomnia - my mind has been dancing all over the place these last few nights- I reckon if they hooked me up to one of those brain electrical activity machines, it might have blown a fuse!

CollieandPup · 03/11/2011 09:54

Massive congratulations to mummya on the birth of baby max, I bet he's adorable! I'm so happy for you, you've been such a source of kindness and support to me and so many others I have always been touched by it. You've been through a lot yourself and I really hope you, max and ds are very happy.

irene any update? Hoping you're enjoying snuggly cuddles by now!!!

dachs really pleased to hear the op went well. Does it mean anything that the cervix is soft, or nothing for the moment? I assume they'll continue to regulary monitor you? (bloody hope so!). Next milestone, 20 weeks. And we're all going to see you get through that!! Xx

izzy glad to hear mw thinks babys head is down.... Did you have your scan yesterday? How did it go?

wiw good question on the changing mat, mine are just plastic too!!!! thanks velvet for the tip!!!

bigmac how was your lunch with the NCT ladies? Sounds lovely Envy

cep eeekk at being at the top of the list almost!!!! It's amazing! I remember the day you got your bfp!!!! How are you feeling? How DH feeling about the new arrival now? Is he excited yet? I know he will be when it arrives!

Having my own wibble at being 5th from the top!!! I don't know how that happened either!!! It all seemed to be going soooo slowly, but now I'm here I don't know where the time has gone... Does that make sense

Mw popped to the house yesterday to drop off home birth bag... Although tbh there's nothing in it!!!! A coupe of sheets, big pads (she's bringing more on the day) some sheets for notes and plastic gloves !! She brings gas and air on the day and had forgotten the Diamorphine!!! We can use their pool, but she didn't bring it as it would mean i could potentially have it for 5 weeks. But she is brining it around on Saturday for us to inflate, check it fits and trial run....so think I'll do my best to not give it back Grin

Pups now fully engaged! Had diarrhoea for about 36 hours, which thought might have been soothing dodgy I ate, but it went from being chronic to fine yesterday within the space of an hour or so so think it's my hormones doing funny things!! BH have eased off though, so no action expected here!!! Hoping to get through the weekend as DH has arranged a surprise overnight getaway in Sheffield- we both met there at uni, so we are going back to where it all began ....bless the soppy sod!! Smile

cep · 03/11/2011 13:43

collie how sweet, lucky you. Just don't forget to take your notes with you. I do know what you mean doesn't feel 5 mins ago getting the bfp or the 12 wk scan, 40 wks felt forever away and now it's nearly here. I'm ok just really tired, rather uncomfortable just wished the mornings weren't going so quick, so i had a bit more time relaxing before picking ds up. Glad the prep for hb is going well.

Doing research for school for ds for next year, is so confusing. i now have a bit of a headache from a ghastly noise when i phone dh earlier which school research isn't helping.

irene hope you're ok hon.

dooscooby · 03/11/2011 14:05

Lurking for news from irene - hope all is going well

wombatinwaiting · 03/11/2011 14:31

Aw collie - what a lovely DH you have - wishing you a lovely weekend away. How exciting re: your HB pack.

It's Eid here and so DH has a 5 day weekend! He'll be working some of it but for the most of it, we're having a staycation - nice dinners out, DSS3 out of our hair, catch up with friends etc.

Also lurking for irene......

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 03/11/2011 18:04

cep must be scary being that close to the top! Definitely don't envy you the school choice research on top of everything else - I've done two rounds of primary school admissions so far and both of them were stressful! Hope you manage to find a school you're happy with.

collie how exciting to have hb pack - everything sounds v promising, some good signs there. Maybe not too long to wait after all?!! Hope you have a lovely weekend away but don't forget to take your notes Smile

Scan yesterday went well, placenta has moved up and is no longer low-lying and baby is definitely head-down - yay!!! Looks like we're aiming for another vb at the midwife-led birth centre, fingers crossed. Now I just need to do a birth plan and pack a hospital bag at some point!

Mw on Tuesday thought baby was 1/5 engaged which is encouraging - I know second or subsequent babies can pop in and out iykwim and often don't fully engage until the last minute so thought it was quite encouraging and am not expecting too much notice. Dd arrived naturally at 40+1 so I'm assuming this one will be vaguely on time [hopeful emoticon], 3 weeks to go!

TheMummyAbroad · 03/11/2011 18:50

Hi ladies, just a quick note from me to say thanks for all your wonderful support, and not just the recent messages, some of you I met over a year ago on here, and its been very moving how much support and encouragement there has been in all that time. I am just thrilled to finally be able to post my good news, Mini Max (as he has come to be known) is here all safe and sound. Grin

wish I could do more to thank you all, but am still feeling a bit flakey so will sign off quick, best of luck to cep and irene, and fab news on scan Izzy, will be awaiting your good news soon. xxx

DiffedAgainDachs · 03/11/2011 19:16

collie The cervix being soft is a bad thing as it means that it had already started getting ready to open and so it's v risky and things could go horribly wrong again. Hopefully the fact that the stitch is in will prevent the cervix from opening enough for an infection to get in or the membranes to rupture, but if contractions start it needs to come out or the cervix could tear. Therefore I am paranoid about every little twinge! Your DH sounds v sweet :) Enjoy the weekend away.

cep Good luck with the school admissions stuff and hope the headache goes away soon - I've had a headache all day, so you have my sympathy! :)

wiw Enjoy your time with DH xxx

izzy Yay for good scan and partial engagement. Must be getting v close for you now. Hope it arrives on its due date - it's a fab day to have a birthday, not that I'm biassed or anything...

hotnspicyonions · 04/11/2011 10:16

Is it just me that sings 'Come in Irene' to the tune of 'Come on eileen' every time they look for news?!?

katherine2008 · 04/11/2011 11:31

nope, me too! been having some braxtons or contractions - not sure which. wish there was a childbirth fairy who waved their wand and said 'right you, off you go'...!

Purpletoes · 04/11/2011 17:40

Lurking for irene news
