Forgot to say - anyone else get particularly 'violent' movements around this time (32 wks ish)? LO has been booting and punching at the same time and it virtually shakes my body - have a I got a particularly aggressive one on my hands?!

wombatinwaiting · 31/10/2011 11:21

Loving all the suggestions for turning izzy's baby Grin. If you don't fancy going the whole hog with the sofa thing, I believe a couple of downward dogs might do the same if you're a yoga fan. The only thing I would contribute to your names is about nicknames again (and while you can call them whatever you like, you may not be able to control what other people call them Grin ) - Catherine in particular has so many variations and Penelope I'm sure would be Penny most of the time. All 4 lovely names though.

Yay for good night's sleep doo. I have only had one or two "violent" movements but I think I may have a lazy one on my hands!

Hurray to 6 more days blackkat - I have really enjoyed my time off although I miss the structure that working gives you....

Don't worry mummya - I still have a bundle of time before the inevitable stretch marks appear!

Went on the tour of the labour/delivery/postnatal ward today - all rather plush I have to say but it should be given the prices they charge.... we think about 3/4 will be covered by insurance. Super helpful lady showed me round too who anticipated almost all my qus and was very reassuring.

shellshock7 · 31/10/2011 12:43

cep glad to hear DS's operation went well Smile

Hi Laff good to see you, hope you enjoyed the baby show

Irene sorry things are draggin on, hope you are keeping your spirits up

Not much help from me for those looking for advice on names...I think its the hardest thing to do, feels like such an important thing to get right, I'm a bit scared by it ha ha

So saw the midwife today and she thinks it does sound like PGP so I have been referred to physio, appt in abt 2-3 weeks...she said as my employer is understanding, just work from home as much as poss till then...but I can go back and get signed off if I have any probs at work. Hopefully it shouldn't be an issue as I don't want to be signed off, working from home is great. So some good news there Smile But.....stupidly ate mussels at the weekend and now have had diarrhea all day yesterday and today, MW has me on nil by mouth till tomorrow which is rubbish Sad I feel like such an idiot, but we were in my fav restaurant and I thought I'd be ok with cooked shellfish...won't be risking it again now!

Ireneiswaiting · 31/10/2011 17:38

Shell glad your midwife was able to give you some PGP advice. Poor you with your bad guts, hope you feel better soon.

Mummya good luck tomorrow!

Happy Halloween everyone.

cep · 31/10/2011 17:56

evening ladies, am so tired, really can't function well. Ds woke at 4am and didn't go back to sleep. I am soooo tired. Just wanted to pop on and say good luck to Mummya and Irene over the next couple of days.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Velvetcu · 31/10/2011 18:16

shell sorry you have pgp, it's awful Sad

doo I feel a bit lost since noone posts in post grads and I have lots of mn time as Eva only cries when she's hungry or dirty and is asleep most of the time!

How are you irene?

mummya I can't believe the baton's yours next, time has gone so quickly!

Ireneiswaiting · 31/10/2011 19:08

Cep I'm with you on the tiredness, DS was up at 5 and woke about 3 times throughout the night.

Velvet I bet the baton will bypass Mummya if she's going in tomorrow. She won't let me give it to her Smile. I doubt I'll squeeze DS2 out before my induction on Wednesday.

Am really glad it is mild weather. Have had to resort to wearing flip flops because my feet are swelling so much. I'll be in DH's footwear if it carries on like this.

CollieandPup · 31/10/2011 20:38

Hi, sorry I've been quiet. Maternity leave has proven busy and shattering...(but in a good way!)

Mummya GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!!!! I can't wait to hear all about max/ronnie!! Love both names btw but favour Ronnie as although it's my uncles name I think it's super cute!

Eek atKatherine having lost your mucus plug 10 days ago!! How did you know?!! I've had a fair bit of discharge (more than usual) yesterday and LOADS today. It's kind of yellowy green and smells sweet (sorry tmi!).... Just mucus or possibly something else???? I've also had lots more Braxtons the past 2 days, but possibly could have been brought on by country walk yesterday and mammoth shopping exercise around the Trafford Centre today with mum!!!

Andhills lots of Braxtons your way too!!! Exciting!!

harassed yay for homebirth being back on!!! Grin @ DH not wanting to get asked what the dust sheets are for!!! I'm pretty sure pink got asked in homebase!!! Grin

laylas pleased to hear your sister is still doing ok, hoping things are still fine.

cep great news that ds op went well. Is he still doing better? I'm so pleased for you. Re names, like both names but love Hollie, although think i agree with Izzy that it doesn't go as well with Annie. Do like the nn Lexi though. Friends of ours called their dd Lexa. Didn't like it at first but I really do now!!

shell Sad for the pgp and for food poisoning!!! Hope you're ok!

velvet don't feel lost, we love to hear from you on here, and I plan on hanging around until I'm kicked off!!!

irene at least the end is in sight now! Just another couple of days!

All ok here. My upholstered chair looks great but my sewing class didn't pay off!!! I stitched the lining for my Moses basket together wrong, so either way you lay it down it always has a seam showing Blush!!!! Pmsl!!! Useless!!! Now have to unpick it al!!' Seriously should have just bought my own blooming basket!!!

Pretty much done all the shopping needed for last bits (and more)! And all newborn clothes washed and dried!!! very bizare seeing baby stuff lying around the house!!! Last week was filled with finishing the nursery, building and filling our hew wardrobes and generally up the after math mess!!! But the house is now straight, much to my relief!!! Mw coming tomorrow with hb kit!!! Aghhhh!!!!

Can't believe I'm 37 weeks!!!!

Also I don't know if any of you remember Bump (bumpwanted then bumpgrowing) from the ttc post mc thread and the the FO room? I rarely go on the FO room anymore, but lurked over the weekend and saw that she had posted with devastating news that her baby boy (Willam) had been born sleeping just days before. Sad Sad I think she was about 27-28 weeks Sad

Ireneiswaiting · 01/11/2011 06:31

Collie Sad that's awful news.

Not surprised you're feeling shattered if you're sewing crib linings and doing all that washing.

Had a rubbish night last night. Awake since 3, awful pgp and bump felt about 10lbs heavier. This morning the braxtons are feeling awfully strong. DS has been awake since 5am too so am up watching cbeebies with him, oh joy! Am hoping something might start today so I don't have to suffer being induced tomorrow.

MummyA thinking of you today.

dooscooby · 01/11/2011 06:31

Good luck today mummya -can't wait to hear the news.

cep hope you and ds managed a better nights sleep.

collie -can't believe you're 37 wks, thats amazing! And you're being so productive too-hope I'm the same on mat leave! I did see the terribly sad news about bump the other week, so desperately sad. Tbh-I became a bit preoccupied with late loss the last week or two and didn't want to say anything for fear of worrying others and being negative. It's such a stark reminder that nothing is taken as given on this journey and for some reason, life deals some very cruel hands at times. Each birth announcement on here feels so special....looking forward to 2 more this wk (possibly a few more too!)

velvet that's great that Eva is such a good sleeper. I think you should stay over here and be our expert from the other side! How does it feel btw-I keep wondering if it will feel real or believable (is that really weird?!)

Only 1 more day of waiting irene-hope the tiredness isn't too bad today and you have something relatively enjoyable to do.

Right-shower is calling. Leaves decaf and hot buttery croissants...

Oh and wiw - it's weird how the family think they can influence the names isn't it-perhaps that's what happens in some families or back in the day. We've kept ours really secret as I know I'd find people's reactions hard to cope with and figure by the time bub is here and named I won't care what kind of reaction people give to the name (I hope!).

dooscooby · 01/11/2011 06:33

Doh-just seen your post irene, sorry you had another rubbish night. Hope things get moving for you today like you said-best of luck x

DiffedAgainDachs · 01/11/2011 06:45

Woo hoo for the babes that have arrived since last time I posted. You're all so far along now as well . It's fab to see you all so close. :)

mummya. Good luck today! :) xxx

I am having my op today to have the cervical stitch put in. Hopefully after today I'll start to feel a little more safe, but I think I might be paranoid the whole way through this time. 14 weeks and 1 days, and as low risk as possible for Down's given my age .

Wishing all of you lots of luck and hugs all round xxx

dooscooby · 01/11/2011 06:48

Hey dachs - just posted on the FO room to say all the best for today. Great news on the downs risk too x

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 01/11/2011 07:49

collie that's so sad Sad

Good luck today to mummya (can't wait to hear your news!) and dachs - will be thinking of you both xx

And good luck also to irene - hope it all kicks off today and you manage to skip the induction tomorrow!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 01/11/2011 08:18

Hi all, I have been handed to job of updating for mummyA the op will take place at 14.30 our time and I will be emailed with the news at some point this afternoon and will update you as and when.

She already knows the time, date and gender so wants to know if you want to have a cheeky guess at the weight. My guess is 8lb2oz so if anyone else wants to add to that feel free and i'll be back on this afternoon with good news :)

cep · 01/11/2011 08:45

morning ladies.

collie at least you made a damn good effort and from the sound of it shouldn't take too much to redo that seam. Such sad news about Bump, have to admit i'm trying to avoid threads about the last minute problems. (a bit lot selfish i know)

mummya good luck for today, can't believe so many of us who started this journey together or close are now nearly at the end of this journey.

dach good luck for today, 14 wks already it probably doesn't feelit to you but that seems to have gone quick.

irene again good luck hon, baby will soon be here.

I don't think i have much choice on names now, ds thinks Hollie Annie slips of the tongue nicely, and really doesn't like Alexis. Oh well i like both names and the rhyme could have been worse.

sleep what's that?? ds awake at 3 this morning, but thankfully he read to himself and went back to sleep at some point, but dh has a cough and kept me awake for well over an hour, then it was his snoring. So glad ds is in nursery this morning.

hope you all have a good day.

DiffedAgainDachs · 01/11/2011 08:58

i'm going for 7lb10oz :)

cep it really doesn't seem to have gone v quickly at all! But with the ectopic scare and then serious bleeding at 10 weeks it's been pretty traumatic and each section so far has taken ages, but none of it seems real yet! I do have a nice DVD of the whole 12 week scan though, so it's nice to sit at home and watch it wriggling :)

CollieandPup · 01/11/2011 09:10

she had a big-un last time right???

Massive congratulations to dachs for reaching 14 weeks and for great downs results!! Good luck for the stich op, I really hope it's goes ok and you feel you can relax just a little- I appreciate getting through the rest of the pg is never going to be a mental free for you. Really pleased to hear you are doing well though. X

doo I know what you mean about worrying about late loss. I've not let myself obsess about it but I think about it regulary and it scares me so much.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 01/11/2011 09:49

It is amazing to think that me and mummy were chatting before I even started TTC. She was th eone who originally pushed me to get a PCOS diagnosis before she even knew about her Ashermans. She was one of the fist people I spoke to on MN and we have been on the buns thread together all the while. I have a feeling I'm going to be a blubbering wreck this afternoon Grin

I can't remember if her DS was chunky or not so I'll stick to my 8lb 2 :)

dachs 14 weeks... wow thats gone fast. cangrats on getting this far so far and long may it continue :)

Ireneiswaiting · 01/11/2011 09:51

Dachs woo hoo, well done on the good scan and good luck with your stitch op. Lovely to hear from you.

MummyA I'm guessing 8lbs.

Had a bit of bloody show this morning, so things might be moving along. Am about to have a bath. Had a few contractions this morning, they feel stronger than braxtons but aren't particularly frequent. Hope things might start, but if not I think it is a step in the right direction. Hopefully tomorrow's sweep and pessary may get me going without resorting to a drip if I can't do it myself.

Daisybell1 · 01/11/2011 10:07

Morning all

How are you all?

Dachs good luck later today, you are always in our thoughts lovely.

Ooh a MummyA sweepstake! Can I have 7lb 12oz?

Doo I'm so sorry for not coming back on to post more thoroughly - how are you feeling now? I see from your last post you're anxious about late loss. I think a certain amount of anxiety is normal however as the others have said, I would talk to your GP or MW about it. They may be able to prescribe anti-Ds (if you both think that's the best way forward) or arrange some counselling.

I went down the counselling route and it was the best thing ever. I had particular anxieties about how I'd cope with having the LO, whether I'd be a good mother and whether I'd struggle with post-natal depression. I had some counselling during the 3rd trimester and will start further sessions in 2 or 3 weeks. I'm not having a wobble yet but I think it will be useful to chat through a few issues, and put a few things to bed.

As the midwives knew my situation, they also arranged for my health visitor to come before Pip arrived for a chat, and she still pops in weekly, just for a natter (she's a purple wearing, guiness prescribing, white witchy, Glen Close look-a-like!) about slings, pushchairs, cars etc etc. This continuity of care made all the difference to me - knowing who was there to support me in the next phase.

Did you ask about the increased risk of post-natal depression? I believe that the stats say its higher, however that could easily be due to women being more likely to seek help if they've had pre-natal depression, and the health professionals already looking out for it more closely. Does that make sense?

velvet Pink and I are here too, don't feel lost! The other side is easier, isn't it? (she says as madam starts squawking Confused)

Hello to everyone else!

katherine2008 · 01/11/2011 10:25

Gosh the thread has been busy. Thinking of mummya today - woo hoo and irene - fx that things might happen on their own - that baton is going to be hovering midair for a while!

Sending everyone lots of positivity - Collie without going into tmi it was a solidish jelly circle about the size of a 50p piece. Not bloody. But that was over 2 weeks ago - and I'm still flipping waiting! Have outwitted mw into sweeping me next week at 40 weeks - she accidentally promised me the last time she saw me so hoping that might do the trick. I dreamt my waters broke last night with such a gush they washed my duvet off the bed...

dachs how fab to see you on the board. thinking of you when you have your stitch.

waves to everyone

Velvetcu · 01/11/2011 11:35

Good luck mummya and fx irene it's all getting started!!

I am so stupidly excited when you lot have babies! I still can't believe that my pregnancy is over and that this little person is actually mine to keep

Yay dachs for 14 weeks and good luck with the stitch - I think it's gone really quickly.

I've been having after pains which are exactly the same as what I had after my erpc last year so that's upset me a bit - I know I have one now but I still want that baby too Sad I kind of thought that Eva would stop that.

Ah well enough of my moaning - question though, at what age would you attempt to put tights on a baby? I really don't think I could do it yet but I want to dress her up to take her into work on Thursday. She's only been in sleep suits and vest so far!

Blackkat · 01/11/2011 12:13

Wishing lots of luck to mummya and to Dachs for today xx

Quick post, will catch up properly later, sorry!!
