cep fingers crossed that DS does not get that cold

I think I'm going to get my BP tested today - I've been a bit headachey the last few days and have had some really horrible things to do at work (awful disciplinary going on at the moment). BP was borderline last week and I'm fretting a bit about it. That's not daft is it?

collie I haven't had consistent branstons like that but have had period pains. I definitely feel the onset of wibbles at the moment. I'm working from home today and am going to wash some baby bits while I'm here and get them drying. This may have me weeping into a hanky by tea-time :)

Those of you that have been/are on iron tablets, did you find that it eased constipation at all? For the first time in months, I can go to the loo properly Blush

dooscooby · 26/10/2011 11:37

Hi there,
Thanks so much to everyone who has taken the time to reply with words of support and for sharing your experiences. I don't want to put a 'downer' on the thread and would never wish feeling low/down/depressed on anyone, however it is a relief to hear that some of you have felt the same way. I feel much better for sharing how I'm feeling, with you lovely ladies as well as with DH and the MW.

DH thinks what I'm feeling is 'normal', response to the stage of pg, really stressful time at work, real problems sleeping etc. I can totally see that and perhaps that's 'all' it is, but it's hard to know where the line is between ok and not isn't it? I just know that ever since that first innocent BFP and everything that has followed, I've not quite felt the same person, I'm quite reclusive and feel a bit like I'm living a 'half life' until our baby is hopefully here safely. I think it's a coping mechanism, but what seems to be quite a dysfunctional one!

minnie, wiw and bigmac - what you describe is exactly what I'm feeling - what a rollercoaster this is.
Daisy - so nice of you to pop back here and offer support - thanks x
collie - happy upholstering today. I think I need to take a leaf out of your book and get productive - might help keep my mind out of overdrive. Pesky work - wish I had less than 6 weeks left!
irene & onions - thinking of you both and willing the LOs into action.

hotnspicyonions · 26/10/2011 11:54

Sounds like we're all having some sort of lowness at the mo!
Daisy it was nothing you said at all, please don't worry. Just irrational hormones & general mothers guilt!
I've booked a reflexology treatment for tomorrow night, if nothing has happened before then! Apparently I'm not the first who has requested one at this stage! Her thumbs are going to be fully poised!
Tried all the usual stuff, even managed sex last night! But still no. Off to Saino's in the vain hope my waters will break, oh & to get a trolley load of pineapples! [hgrin]

stitchinline · 26/10/2011 12:07

Well still feeling a bit of a high after the scan on Monday. Next official one will be at 36 weeks but we are going to have a sneaky 4D one before Christmas to break things up a bit :)

Things have been crazy busy at work this week and I?m off on holidays tonight and have so much to do before I go ? aargh ? so apologies for lack of personals.

Little bit worried about the trip but a lot less than I would have been if the scan and mw appointment on Monday wasn?t so good. Fx I don?t need to visit a hospital as not sure Belarus will be up to the standards I?m used to.

DH is delighted about being team pink, quite relieved actually as he had voiced a particular preference in a number of occasions and I was a bit worried that we could have a bad case of gender disappointment ? I couldn?t care less as long as it?s a nice screaming baby.

wombatinwaiting · 26/10/2011 12:19

Thanks so much ladies for all your reassurance - it's very comforting to know that we're not alone (not that I would wish anyone feeling down, of course Blush ) Doo - I could have written that last post about a half-life. It's as if I'm all smiles on the outside but a bit of a wreck on the inside.... I am actually feeling a heap better today (helped by a really lovely dream about our 1 day old daughter - we don't know what we're having though - talking to me. Ridiculous that a dream should help, but they've all been a bit negative up til now...) I think I will be mentioning it to my doc on monday and just see what she says. Sending hugs to you and everyone else who is feeling wobbly, and in fact hugs and custard creams to everone for their support.

Eeeek re: the BHs collie - I've had a few but nothing up to 40 seconds - am a litle bit Envy in a very weird way!

Definitely not daft to get your BP checked bigmac - well done for taking the initiative and I'm sure your m/w will be pleased too.

Fingers crossed your ds makes a recovery in time cep.

Irene and onions - sending lots of labour vibes your way!

shellshock7 · 26/10/2011 13:40

doo I second that hormones may be to blame, I am massively over sensitive this last couple of weeks and crying (or filling up) a lot, can really understand the feelings of will I cope etc. but haven't reached there myself as it doesn't quite feel real still for me yet. wombat I think talking it out with DH is a good start and you should see a professional if this doesn't help...it's hard to give advice as what might work for one person will not be good advice for someone else, I think we have to listen to what our bodies / minds are telling us.

Hi collie thanks for the advice, you have just nudged me one step closer Smile

bigmac I've gone on to spatone now and am completely back to normal in that dept (but too be honest it wasnt much of a prob anyway) the main benefit of the spatone is that I don't have to eat prunes anymore Grin Having just had a real scare due to my BP being low and me not knowing what was happening (I think I posted it on the freak out thread not here) I recommend getting it tested, you need to know what to look out for and what to do if things get weird!

No change for me, still feeling light headed etc. came into work today rather working at home which isn't helping...and every bloody step hurts my bump ouch! Hope this isn't me now for another 19 weeks [hshock]

bigmacandhappymeal · 26/10/2011 13:55

Ladies, some quick advice as I think I've been stupid. Just on third load of washing Happymeal's clothes/bedding etc and have used non-bio and fabric conditioner. (sensitive one). Should I not have used the softener??

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 26/10/2011 15:39

Softener is fine isn't it mac? I use softener on all my stuff? Don't sweat the small stuff my love Grin

bigmacandhappymeal · 26/10/2011 15:52

Thanks coconuts - I think i'm having a minor flip out :) How are you?

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 26/10/2011 16:19

Honestly don't worry about the washing. Alot of stuff I forgot to even wash and it has made no difference.

I'm ok thanks, trying to get some semblance of a routine going and currently have DS sleeping for 8 hours at night which is fabulous. It will all come undone when the clocks change at the weekend though so I'll enjoy it while it lasts! We're all full of cold thanks to DD bringing germs home from playschool so hoping we're all better before half term is over and hoping DS's doesn't go on his chest. It's very difficult having a congested baby who can't suck.

cep · 26/10/2011 16:28

bigmac i've always used softener with out clothes using non bio or not.

coconuts glad you mentioned the clock change i knew it was coming soon but couldn't remember when. Is it sunday morning then?? it's normally a sunday isn't it. Confused

bigmacandhappymeal · 26/10/2011 16:40

Oof coconuts that cold sounds lousy for you all :(

Thanks for the softener reassurance - I don't know what got into my head to worry about it. I've obviously been on the daft cow juice today.

Had my BP checked - all is fine which is great (thanks shell), so I'll just put up with the brain ache for now.

I keep going up to the spare room where the washing is hanging and looking at the little things.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 26/10/2011 16:47

Ahh mac I remember looking at my airer of drying clothes before DS arrived. :)

cep It's Saturday night/Sunday morning isn't it? I don't know when to exactly do it. We usuallly do it before bed/when we get up so not sure when we will do it this time as it'll completely mess up DSs routine.

And unfortunatley mac brain ache doesn't go away. I feel like my brain has turned to liquid and is dripping out of my ears. Half the time I don't know what day it is!

Purpletoes · 26/10/2011 17:41

morning ladies, very quiet of late. hope that means babys are coming. irene and onions i'm talking to you two lovely ladies. Smile

i have 1 room to vac and 1 room to clean completely and i am done for house work before baby gets here. i've already been to the library and picked up a pile of trashy mills and boon to sit and chill with.

ds's cough is a bit worse this morning, and has sneezed a couple of times. Sad am filling him with warm milk and warm cereal, in a last chance hope, but no temp still and no runny nose, will see what happens. hope everyone is ok.

Ireneiswaiting · 27/10/2011 09:14

Cep hope your DS feels better soon.

Onions are you still here too?

Got my first stretch mark this morning. That surely isn't fair! I'm sorry for all you who have suffered for ages, but to get the first one in two pregnancies days after your due date is a bit annoying!

Hils74 · 27/10/2011 10:01

Morning ladies!

cep - Hope your DS gets to have his op

collie - I've been having BH with constant lower back pain for weeks. Then last night I started getting really painful period type cramps every 30 mins for about 30 - 40 secs...

They finally stopped about 4am and when I went to the loo I lost my mucas plug (I think, TMI looked like a lot of snot :)) not bloody at all?

So does that mean I'm gearing up for labour soon or is this going to go on for the next few weeks??!!

sending good labour vibes to onions and irene

Ireneiswaiting · 27/10/2011 13:25

Hills who knows, it could go on like that or it might be imminent. Wish I was getting those symptoms. I'm feeling slightly period painey but my goodness I wish I could get going.

shellshock7 · 27/10/2011 13:39

Please excuse the me me me post but gotta get this off my chest!

What I have been assuming is round ligament pain has just been getting worse and worse over the last 5-6 weeks, and on top of anaemia and low BP fainting I've been struggling a bit. The pain has got so bad I was crying just walking to my car last night to go home from work and again today just going to get my lunch, I've got a MW appt about it on Monday incase its not RLP and might be PGP...DH just gave me a pep talk so went in to see my boss and am working from home tomorrow and Monday around MW appt, he is so good and just let me ramble on about it all...he suggested coming in to work in the mornings to do what needs to be done here then working at home for the afternoons for as long as this goes on.

Has anyone any experience of this if it is PGP, is it likely to progress and is there anything I can do to alleviate the pain? I have a pregnancy pillow which defo helps at night but I struggle with the day to day moving around the office and am fit for nothing when I get home Sad so will welcome any suggestions Smile

Sorry if this seems really down, I am still really happy about this pregnancy Grin

katherine2008 · 27/10/2011 14:32

Hi Guys, just a quick dash and run - hils i lost my plug 10 days ago - still twiddling my thumbs...!

wombatinwaiting · 27/10/2011 16:22

Bollocksy bollocks - computer just ate my post [hangry]!!

From memory, it was something like this. Katherine and hils - is a loss of mucus plug very different from excess cervical mucus? I seemed to have a lot of CM today.... and katherine - our midwife said it can be 2 weeks between loss of plug and giving birth.... however, with your period type pains, I guess you could be on your way - good luck!

Good to see you here purple and glad the 25 week appt went well - as you can tell, the ups and downs are perfectly normal. Thanks for doing the stats - I look spot on.

Sorry to say that I can't help with any advice on PGP shell but if it is causing you that much pain, did you want to think about seeing someone before the weekend?

Good to see you're still hanging in here irene - big boo to Steve the stretchmark turning up - how dare he?! Thinking of you and onions.....

cep - hope DS recovers quick so the op can still go ahead tomorrow.

Here's a probably daft question - do you actually need the canopy thing that goes with the moses basket? The one on our Winne the Pooh one from mothercare just seems to get in the way.....

Ireneiswaiting · 27/10/2011 17:37

Shell, I have PGP at the moment but it isn't too bad. PGP or SPD can be an absolute misery. See your midwife or doctor, sometimes you can get a belt/strap to hold you all in place and add a bit of support. I know some people who need crutches and wheelchairs. It isn't something to take lightly, but hopefully yours won't worsten.

Wombat , if the canopy annoys you, ditch it, can't imagine the baby will mind.

Slight period pains today. Hope cervix is softening. Wish I could have another sweep attempt. How can I engineer that? Otherwise my next appt is on 2nd at the hospital.

cep · 27/10/2011 18:08

shell i've had spd, i was told that as you get up breathe out, it's automatic to breathe in (or at least for me) bracing for the pain. it does help a bit. Physio is also a suggestion, (i didn't do this though) and there is a belt which supports everything which is supposed to be good, which is some places you can get through the phyio. Also make sure your chair is supportive enough at work.

wiw we took our canopy off last time, and will probably this time, not really sure what it was for to be honest.

hils if you're unsure call the mw's.

well he passed the first hurdle, told the nurse about his cough and as he was running round at the time she said he didn't seem unwell so not to worry. But final say so is the anaesthetist before the op. So fx everyone please that cough doesn't get worse.

cep · 27/10/2011 18:09

fx irene that pains are a sign of something.
