bigmac how did the breastfeeding class go? I had one at the hospital last night. Very pro breast feeding for as long as possible and all about on demand feeding. Felt a bit bullied into to be fair. I'm prepared to give it a go but the class didn't really address what to do if you really struggle with it apart from to make you feel bad. Did imagine I may never sleep again from what she was saying!

Also found myself at the hospital on Sunday night collie due to hardly any movements. As soon as we got hooked up to the machine he started wriggling and I felt a complete paranoid loony. The mw was great though and insisted I go down any time it happens. Was reassuring. Maybe they do slow down a bit around now.

Hi all. A quick update for you! Have been feeling pants all day & getting lots of rest. Threw up about 3pm followed by squits. Then realised it wasn't just stomach pains from being ill it was contractions too! Phoned MU at about 8 & went in. Contractions were mire frequent & more painful. Was examined at 10pm, only 2-3 cms. She did a sweep & suggested I come home for some rest. Walked through door & promptly threw up entire contents of stomach including painkillers! It's gonna be a long night :(

Feeling a bit better thanks blackkat although hospital phoned today to say they think I have a water infection but I need to go to gp for a repeat test, hope you're feeling better harassed

I'm spending the day doing whaatever DD wants, so far we've baked cookies had a tea party built the train set up and now were painting, I guess there won't be much time for just the 2 of us after baby is born and she starts nursery at easter, I'm trying to think of ways to make her feel includud, I would haaate for her to feel pushed out.
to go with those biscuits, yum biscuits are my weakness at the moment x

hiya blackkat - I don't think 35 weeks is too late. How long are they going on for? I'm OK ta - absolutely shattered today so not much good for anything and fretting slightly as MrB is off to France for the weekend with his brother. Ridiculous as usually I would be clicking my heels together and having a lovely time while he's away. Instead I'm a bit anxious. How's you?

minnie I have pursed lips about my breast feeding class (mine have been 3.5 hours of NCT and 1.5 hours of NHS). Some useful information and realism about how long it actually takes but like you they gave us nothing to help around what happens when it all goes wrong other than a dose of the guilts. We had a get together after our NCT class today and all the ladies there agreed they came away from the session last night feeling a bit shitty. Also there is no way on this green earth I would call the NCT breast feeding counsellor from my course if I had problems. I did like finding out about the reflex reactions that babies have that are helpful cues for bfeeding and I am fully up for trying. I will have ready mixed formula in the house though so that if I'm going insane in the night I can feed Happymeal without feeling like a complete failure.

Today's session was about stitches, tears, perineal massage (yes ladies, that old chestnut) and pooing yourself in labour. More tea anyone?

Sorry to hear that you were also in hospital recently, but v glad that LO is OK. They are little sods aren't they.

Mind if I tentatively join you ladies? I've been in the freak out room for a good few weeks now but have got to the giddy heights of 17 weeks now. I don't think I'm quite ready to 'graduate' from the freak out room, but I thought I might try some sort of 'phased handover'

So I thought I'd poke a toe in here - there are a few familiar names but obviously a lot of you had graduated long before I got my bfp.

A little bit of history about me if I may. We have one DS who is now 3. Prior to him we had a m/c at 10 weeks. Both times got pg relatively quickly.

Started trying for DC2 in Jan 2010, not really anticipating it taking the 19 months that it did to get a BFP. So we filled our 19 months with a lot of symptom spotting, a referral to the fertility clinic, the usual blood tests etc, a HSG and the month after that, bingo - BFP!

It took many many many many many weeks for it to sink in that it was really happening (truth be told it still hasn't properly sunk in), but the length of time it had taken really magnified the worries we had about a m/c, for fear of having to 'start' again.

I'm afraid I'll have to play catch up with you lovely ladies a bit, but I'm sure I'll get there eventually......
