laylasmummy09 · 18/10/2011 09:48

Just delurking to saay congratulations to velvet what a beautiful name,

I've not posted for a while but have been watching for baby news, its so lovely to see all the happy endings,
I've been quite ill with general pregnancy symptoms, if it exists I usually get it then I've spent the last week or so recovering from an awful bout of food poisoning wich had me like a zombie, I'm feeling much better now and starting to get exited at the thought of finally having my baby in my arms soonish and dare I saay it even starting to enjoy the pregnancy a bit
Welcome to the newbies it feels nice to be moving up the list a bit

dooscooby · 18/10/2011 09:56

Fantastic news velvet - congratulations. It's made my shitty start to the day seem irrelevant-what lovely news-enjoy your special time x

milkyways · 18/10/2011 09:57

Yay! Big congratulations velvet!!!

harassedandherbug · 18/10/2011 10:44

Huuge congratulations Velvet and what a beautiful name! Try warm baths with a touch of sea salt for the stitches..... really helped.

laylas sorry you're having such a crappy time of it. I feel a bit like that too but without the food poisoning!

shell lovely to see you here! And fab news, congratulations.

hotnspicy any more contractions??!

collie how's your head?

I have a magic cure for heartburn. I've been suffering big time, and Gaviscon just wasn't cutting it. But a friend suggested Love Hearts..... they're fabulous! And yummy..... But surprisingly hard to come by now I actually want some. Dh bought me a Christmas tube the other day.

Yes I need reminding about work bigmac!!! Actually the work itself is ok. I'm in our conference room rather than open plan office which is lovely I have to say. Just me!! Unfortunately the pelvis & hips are not enjoying it quite so much and I was in agony by the time I got home. Despite being spaced out on cocodamol...... I meant to take paracetamol, and was soo busy concentrating on this that I took sodding cocodamol . I was v glad dh was home early as dd was in a foul mood after school! Plus he cooked dinner Grin.

Hi all, just wanted to share my pathetic antics at the mw with someone....I feel so embarrassed and stupid.
I went for my 28 week appointment today, and forgot I had to give bloods aswell...so got through that, but nearly fainted half way through. Then the MW came at me with the anti-D shot, and I jumped up from the chair and told her I didn't want it....I feel so stupid. There were 2 of them in the room trying to reassure me, but I just told them I didn't want it. I don't know what the hell happened to me, but I just couldn't go through with it. So I've agreed to put some emla cream on my butt this afternoon and go back for the shot today.

I am so angry at myself right now, how stupid must I have looked? :( I'm also angry at DH for being Rh+...which I know is REALLY unfair and horrible of me. :(

I've got 3 hours to get myself together about this, and all I want to do is cry.

Just popping over to congratulate velvet GrinGrinGrin What lovely names. It's so lovely to see someone complete the ttc after a mc journey xxxx

Waves to everyone who recognises me x

milkyways · 18/10/2011 13:34

Thanks tunnocks I've just eaten something and am psyching myself up. I don't know why I forgot the bloods...I knew I was having them yesterday and this morning I woke up and it had completely slipped my mind, and when I was faced with it, I was just totally overwhelmed. Really really stupid. but I was dumb last night and googled "why are anti-D needles so big"...and all this stuff came up about the liquid being viscous and they need a big needle, so it's my stupid fault really.

I'll be okay knowing my skin is numb I think. Might save the crying for when DH comes home from work :)

Thanks for the reassurance :)

Woo hoo velvet congratulations and welcome to Eva Lily!! What fantastic news!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

It is so lovely seeing people who I've been on this long long journey with from the start finally get their happy ending Smile

cep glad all went well with mw x

milky sorry about traumatic appt, hope tomorrow goes ok

I've got my 34 wk appt in half an hour, then parents evening tonight (hope the munchkins have been behaving!) then it's my last day at work tomorrow - yay!!!!

CollieandPup · 18/10/2011 16:32

velvet Congratulations!!! That's amazing! Operation Eviction finally paid off!! Grin ! So pleased for you and I think Eva Lily is a beautiful name. I know what izzy means. I wasn't there for the start of velvets journey but she was there, like many of you, at the start of mine and it's so heart warming seeing you get a happy ending!

milky poor you what an ordeal at your mw apt! Don't be hard on yourself. It's easy to forget these things (I've taken a stick to the loo twice now and forgot to pee on it!! Smile ) and I'd have been freaked out by the prospect of an injection after nearly fainting!!

Cep yay or good mw apt!

izzy good luck with 34wk apt!!! And a big YAY for last day tomorrow!!! Ohhh I have an extra 2 days!!!

Sorry I've been quite, I've been doing a bit of metalling. Had hardly any movement from pup on Sunday - less than 10, and that's a mahossive deal for him as he generally doesn't sit still. So after ringing they said to go in. Was checked over and all was ok, although pup was still unusually quiet, despite some major prodding and poking! Asked about my headaches but again no cause for concern and this time my urine was protien free Confused. I've still got it, but am resolved to accepting it could just be hormones. wiw I googled 4head and meant to get some yesterday but forgot!!! Doh!

Anyway, Pup is ok, but to add to the stress DH was told yesterday he's going to be made redundant!! Complete and utter shock and just gutted!!! The business is not making profit and his dept are overspent so need to make savings. And he's a casualty! He's not even been there a year! So, he's got 3 months notice, and we're having a baby! I totally crumbled at work yesterday, but I'm feeling stronger today. I'm really not sure what we'll do if he doesn't find something else. Luckily my Mat pay is full for 8 weeks and half for 18, but that will be a struggle alone. I hate that we have this worry and stress at this time. Sad I know things could be worse, we have good health and a healthy baby boy (fx) on the way but..... Well it sucks big style! Sad

Congratulations velvetSmile. Our paths have been intertwined since day one, and I'm really glad that you are getting your happy ending now. I really can't wait for mine though! A beautiful name, well done xx

Bloody hell, collie that sucks. I'm sorry to hear that, you really don't need the extra stress. What does DH do?

izz Squeeeee for the last day at work! Huzzah! I bet you can't wait, I am looking longingly at my last day now, even though its still 8 weeks away. Good luck with parents evening.

milky That sounds rubbish. Bloods suck, and so do injections. Have a good cry, and lots of chocolate, and make DH psych you up for the injection- it's the least he can do, I reckon.

Daisybell1 · 18/10/2011 17:14

Hello all

Many, many congratulations Velvet What lovely news, gorgeous names, and what a fabulous day to be to be born on - its my birthday too Grin If OH is taking paternity leave and therefore missing the next F1 Grand Prix, Pip and I are ready and waiting to go and cover for him!

I have been lurking for ages, but I'm afraid baby brain is limiting me doing a massive catch up. Sorry

So sorry for those who are not feeling top notch, really hope you can get some respite soon.

Massive hugs Milky please don't worry, I'm sure the MWs have seen far far worse Unfortunately bloody men boys are generally rhesus positive so that's yet another thing we can hold against them!

Collie so sorry to hear about OH's redundancy, I really hope he gets something else sorted soon. Is there any chance he could leave straight away - I've heard that if he gets paid his 3 months notice in lieu of working it, then its tax free - the extra cash may help with your worries?

Who was it asking about the prams? Well...... The Herqules is awesome, a complete tank but a dream to push. The Chicco is a bit mumsy for me, but my mum loves it. We are thinking of branching out though into sling territory. The bridleway out of the farm is a bit muddy even for the off-roaders...

Masses of love and hugs to all

xxx

Ireneiswaiting · 18/10/2011 17:16

Just a quick drop in to congratulate Velvet. Fantastic news and a lovely name. Hope you're recovering and enjoying your new daughter.

milkyways · 18/10/2011 17:24

Thanks everyone :) I went and got it done. The emla cream worked wonders and I didn't feel anything which was good. Just bled a little bit afterwards and it's a bit sore to touch now, but I survived.
I'm just hoping this is what pregnancy hormones do to you, and that I don't fall to pieces during labour!

collie I'm sorry to hear about that. What awful timing. Hope you're okay x

izzy Hope your appointment goes well :)

cep glad the appointment went well.

TheMummyAbroad · 18/10/2011 17:25

Big hugs for VELVET well done honey!!! So pleased for you, hope you have an incredibly speedy recovery and are enjoying your lovely new baby girl. xxxx
Congrats Grin

TinaOnHerBroomstick · 18/10/2011 17:37

Hi cep! I'm fine thank you, still waiting for that elusive bfp...

collie how unbelievably stressful for you, and what rotten timing...is he likely to find something else soon?
