jan2011 · 19/09/2011 21:54

Valiant sounds like you have a lot going on and to keep your mind occupied too which maybe isn't a bad thing right now! all the best for this thursday x

Lollyheart · 20/09/2011 08:21

Welcome cherry

Grrrr 40+ 2 today. My first dc was born at this point, so if I go over today which is highly likely this will be my longest pregnancy.

Sorry rant over.

Hope everyone is ok Smile

candr · 20/09/2011 14:45

hi, we are doing well and baby is feeding non stop which is good as we want him back over 5lb mark but my poor nipples don't know what has hit them Shock. val, good luck for thurs i am sure it will all be fine - not long now! I hope everyone else is hanging in there. I felt quite emotional during the day before I went into labor so it could have been a sign, also bought raspberry tea on that day but had not even opened the box - potent stuff Grin princess -good to hear you are all doing well Smile am thinking about you all and sending contraction vibes your way xx

Heinoushierachy · 20/09/2011 14:51

Hi Valiant best of luck for Thursday :). Hi Cherry am also over by about the same time - jan2011 how did the sweep go/any movements? Have one booked in for Fri but unsure as to go ahead as I'm pretty certain the baby is back to back and have heard this may not be the best thing... x

Hi everyone, good luck for Thursday valiant must be so exciting!
I'm 38+2 now and incredibly bored of being pregnant , if I get told one more time to enjoy the peace I'll scream!! I want mayhem in my life now lol.

Have had no braxton hicks that I'm aware of, bump still high and baby still wriggling alot! Have midwife tomorrow and hoping she can tell me how engaged baby is as last one just wrote 1/5 on my notes and there seems to be confusion on whether that is very engaged or just beginning.

I am shattered though, not sleeping very well and can't stop thinking about wanting the baby here:) i have loads of housework to do but being lazy! I shall do it at some point.... Think I'm going to attempt to bake a cake in my new oven tomorrow to kill some time! If I fail that ( am useless at baking!) there is always the easy rice krispie cakes to make that doesn't involve an oven ! Yay

Anyone know of a simple cake recipe i could try?

jan2011 · 20/09/2011 22:51

hey everyone
its so frustrating this waiting game isn't it i hope the sweep goes well on fri henious if you do decide to go for it maybe the baby will have turned by then i don't know
the midwife who did my sweep today said i was 2-3cm dilated and things were looking good - which got me excited and actually since then ive developed backache. so i don't know how soon labour will be since ive heard you can stay stuck at 3cm for a couple of weeks so im trying not to get my hopes up...
unfortunately hubby and i had massive row as he wanted to go out tomorrow with his mates (he has the day off) and couldn't understand why i was upset at this given the circumstances and the fact his time is very limited. i have been very upset since and we r not really talking now so its hard to focus on the positive experience of giving birth - everything seems much worse when ur hormonal and emotional - hopefully things will get better before labour...i think its a bit too much for me to expect him to understand what its like for us and that we need extra support so im just going to have to deal with him constantly being like this sorry i am going off on one. good luck everyone who is waiting i really hope everyone is ok and our babies come soon xo

summerpixie · 21/09/2011 03:18

I hope those of you waiting get to see your LO soon. It's very tiring and grinding towards the end but enjoy your sleep whilst you can!
Crazy, my DD wasn't engaged when I had my sweep but I was 2cm dilated. Sometimes babies don't engage until labour so don't worry about it get shoving evening primrose tablets up there instead Smile as for easy cake recipe weigh 2 eggs with shells on whatever they weigh use the same weight each of butter sugar and flour and whisk it all together then bake. I never actually time my cakes in the oven and just can tell. Sorry that's of no help for you but pls report back if you were successful.
Good luck with the births and I hope your LO gets into position Valiant.

cherryjellybelly · 21/09/2011 06:24

thanks for the welcome :D
crazy I normally google bbc recipes to make cakes and stuff, there are normally some really easy ones in there :)
candr congratulations!
jan I hope your back ache is the start, I dont think men understand!
my dh keeps moaning that nothings happening, that hes fed up of waiting and cant I hurry up.... Confused he needs to try being pregnant for a day Grin my parents are going on holiday on the weekend (it was booked before they knew) so I really want it to happen soon.... but until then I'll have to just eat Biscuit
Hope your all ok!! x

Heinoushierachy · 21/09/2011 09:49

Hi jan2011 really feel for you - have also had a big bust up with my OH (is this short for other half? still learning...) over a similar situation. Ended up escalating into another bigger row and consequently had to go into hospital last night to get blood pressure checked out as adrenalin was going crazy :( Don't know what to say apart from I hope you get it sorted and manage to talk it over when you're both feeling a bit calmer. It's really tough keeping momentum going whilst the goal posts are consistently shifting. I'm also feeling pants right now - good news is that the baby was fine, bad news it's back to back and I'm really feeling stressed (which apparently postpones labour) and as the OH is supposed to be my birth partner for a home birth, I'm not really feeling much confidence in acheiving this right now. Sorry to sound :(
Maybe try writing it down and chatting it over when you feel a bit less raw, in the meantime get yourself a nice (brew) and treat yourself to something, you deserve it x

jan2011 · 21/09/2011 13:21

hi guys, aw henious i am sorry what you are going through also, it is so awful isn't it when you are so emotional anyway and you need that support and don't have it. as if you needed the stress of your blood pressure going up last night, we are supposed to be relaxing! i ended up awake all night and had back ache and cramps and bleeding - i thought i was on to something but its all away now and i think it must have just been due to all the stress as i was just so upset. OH is also supposed to be my birth partner and im considering gettin my mum instead as how can someone support you if you cant even be in the same room as them...i know he is the babys father but i need support during labour too. its so hard when this was supposed to be an exciting time. i really hope you two get things sorted out as well and you can relax a bit more. i did buy something nice, i got bath bubbles and a face mask so im off to have a bath after walking in the rain but still no sign of cramps coming back!
hope we all get going soon sorry also to sound down. i know we will be happy soon though when this stage passes :)

CrazyAlien06 · 22/09/2011 10:07

Hey everyone :0) hope everything is going well
Valiant
I had mw yday and my baby is getting cosy in a back to back position :-(
So I have been advised to get on all fours and rock my hips from side to side, fun fun fun- that and scrub floors- I think I'll lean over my birthing ball thanks :0)

I have got bad lower back ache at the moment which is probably due to baby having got itself into the proper back to back position :(

Am going to go swimming as thought that might help move him/her a bit, that's if I can get out if bed..........
38 + 4 here, I'll be last me thinks as if LO takes after me it ll def be late lol.
Not much else to report except I'm not sleeping, LO makes some crazy, freaky movements and I'm bored out of my nut! I have had two friends round this week though - first visitors to our home for cuppa now that house looks half decent haha. That was nice to not have to go to someone elses.

Hope u all have a lovely day :0) it's gorgeously sunny here so must get the washing out too!

Lollyheart · 22/09/2011 13:04

Just popping on to say I had a little boy thismorning, no name yet 6lb 8oz.

BumpPlus2 · 22/09/2011 13:34

x

CrazyAlien06 · 22/09/2011 14:33

Congrats lollyheart :0) hope it all went smoothly x

PrincessScrumpy · 22/09/2011 20:22

Congrats lollyheart xx

My two have both had a growth spurt this week and shot up over their birth weights so finally, 3 weeks on, we have been discharged fully from the mws. Also my hv is lovely and stayed for a 45 minute chat while helping me change nappies etc (I'm sure they don't have to do that). I even saw her while shopping and she greated me like a friend - soooo different to my last hv for dd1.

Wishing everyone happy, straigh-forward births, and healthy beautiful babies xx

jan2011 · 23/09/2011 08:03

oh congratulations lollyheart! thats so lovely! when you have more time/rest it would be nice to hear about the birth! thanks for coming on to let us know. im glad your two are doing so well Princessscrumpy im sure you are so pleased and it makes a huge difference to have a lovely HV its such good support for u at this time. i think mine will be nice to ive only met her once though!
bumplus how you are you doing? im afraid all my signs have gone apart from the odd cramp, despite walking, pineapple, EPO birth ball, baths etc!! at least i have plans for today so i hopefully won't be just sitting around waiting. good luck everyone still waiting x

Valiant1 · 23/09/2011 16:44

oh valiant :( you poor thing!! I can't believe they turn people away as they are busy , I thought that it would have been a list and then EMCS get priority! crazy world that we live in!!

jan2011 I am good thanks - feeling a bit 'odd' today and keep wondering if it's going to be sooner than I think (and the weekend is better timing foir childcare of my other 2 Wink) but who knows! Keep us posted xx

jan2011 · 25/09/2011 08:21

hey Valient i am sorry! that is so frustrating for you, its the whole not knowing thing that is just so hard and you preparing and going in and then being let down. still its the way things are today.
bumpplus i hope you do come sooner rather than later... the weekend is better timing for me too actually with my hubbys schedule, and i don't fancy spending another week twiddling my thumbs! i keep wondering am going to hae a September or October baby.... x

candr · 27/09/2011 17:42

Congrats Lolly, Hey Val - what a pain in the arse for you. I really hope things get going for you and the line moves quickly. We are doing well and baby is now 5.12lb which is great. I am healing well and much more mobile, still not quite up for a walk with the pram yet though as have no energy due to lack of sleep and appetite. I am having to make myself eat to keep producing milk as he is an eating - pooing machine. We had a projectile poo accross the bed onto the floor which DH did not find funny at 4am though he was looking at it half in disgust and half in admiration as it travelled about 4foot in the air Shock. I really hope everything is progressing well for everyone else and you get nice simple births Grin

Valiant1 · 29/09/2011 09:01
