Hi Candr ehk back to back, I had it with my first and possibly with this one... However I was told by the MW that second time round even with back to back is meant to be a lot easier and quicker so keeping positive :)

candr · 13/09/2011 20:41

Heinous I hope you are right as I have heard it is more panful - mind you this is my first so will have nothing to compare it to. At least he is head down Smile

Hi all
Well baby finally arrived at 00:30 on 13th Sept after waking up at 6:30am on the 12th with hideous backache. She was back to back which was ridiculously painful, had DH massaging my lower back btwn contractions and holding a hot water bottle against it. 9 days late & 8lb 13oz which I was massively shocked by as bump was small & all at the front. Just not sure where she was hiding!
Came home yesterday afternoon & seem to be doing ok. Looking forward to bedtime tonight!
Hope you are all well & your babies arrive soon.
Pls could someone post the Sept birth link thread? Am too tired/lazy to search for it!
Thanks :)

ssmile · 15/09/2011 07:01

Hi princessdave many congrats on Lo. I've set up in postnatal clubs a Sept edd talk and arrivals list for Sept, i can't do links off my phone plus I'm BF Lo again so typing one handed :-) but you can find them there come join us we about 15 babes so far.

CrazyAlien06 · 15/09/2011 09:59

congrats princessdave what a lovely weight :)

My bloods came back good, they had only gone down by 2! so remain above 100 which is fantastic as means I can go into the mw lead unit at my hospital :D

had mw appt yday and had a lovely newly qualified one and she was so efficient it was great! she wrote 1/5 on my notes and I know its to do with engagement but can anyone help me as to whether it has just started engaging or is all in ? Conflicting views on web!

happy belated birthday Valiant x

MungoS · 15/09/2011 15:08

Hi everyone, this is my first post on here. My due date was 9th Sept, but baby seems far too comfy at the moment to be making a move anytime soon! MW set induction date today for next Friday which is scaring me a little...Anyone here in the same boat?

Heinoushierachy · 15/09/2011 15:43

Happy Birthday Valiant wow - a lot of talk of back to back babies, i'm trying to move mine right now but haven't had the energy yet to start scrubbing the kitchen floor... Am still holding on here - absolutely no show/sign of anything. Dodged a sweep today but booked in for one next week so hoping things will get moving beforehand. Mungo have you tried releasing any milk yet? Apparently this is meant to be one of the most successful methods (just one at a time though otherwise it can stress out baby, apparently) I'll be trying this next week if there's no change, but if you do let me know if it works!

Congrats princessdave what a lovely size x

Valiant1 · 15/09/2011 16:05

Thank you ladies xxx had a lovely day xx

Went to the consultant today who wanted me in for a section asap but there no room so he booked me in for next Thursday on the proviso that if i get even a twinge i will be in as an emergency. he was having a argument with the nurse was all a bit awkward Shock so am going have a bath and see how things go. feel better now i have a date and can sort things out. it's my dads birthday as well next week :) she is still footling breech and only 6lb :(
hope all is well with everyone else and congrats princess dave xx

Book marking
Still pregnant, due date is tomorrow.

I'm having a sweep in the morning, fingers crossed it worked
like it did with dd Smile

summerpixie · 18/09/2011 03:39

Good Luck Lollyheart. I was supposed to be due today (18th) too, but my little girl made an early arrival. Get bouncing on your ball and drink Raspberry leaf tea and take Evening Primrose oil capsules. I did these and was 2cm when I was given a sweep and had a 2 hour labour 12 hours after my sweep.

Congrats to all those who have had their LO's and hope your baby turns Valiant.

candr · 18/09/2011 10:11

Congrats Princessdave, Well I hd my baby on Thursday - Yeah! Felt sick around 1am wed night and had BH so was on ball till 3am, I then (TMI) passed alot of blood and had immediate strong contractions that were every 2 min, woke BH and drove quite fast to hospitle was 4cm when I arrived. Had gas and air and begged for epi but felt need to push so she suggested I was checked again and was at 9cm so went for it. He was born at 8.12 am so only 6 hour labor from start. (Val he turned from back to back as he came out with no probs). He is only 5.3lb so had to stay in to watch feeding and my iron as I bled a lot throughout and they are not sure why. We came home last night (Sat). We cannot believe we made such a cute baby and he is really well behaved. Looking forward to settling in as a family. Hope every one else is doing well and making progress. Smile am going to have a lie down as have slept for about 3 hours since birth x

Lollyheart · 18/09/2011 10:16

Congratulations candr

Well I've just been for a s+s, cervix still closed so midwife couldn't do it.

I'm so disappointed, being my 4th and my last two being early I really thought the baby would be here by now Sad

Hope all is ok with you val

Good luck for Thursday valiant. My cs was less than 3 weeks ago and I feel fab - better than after having dd1 naturally!

Heinoushierachy · 18/09/2011 17:30

Hi, I found this thread pretty late but am 3 days overdue and drumming fingers. Good luck for Thursday Valiant Have a sweep booked for Friday am am trying to be patient and allow things to happen naturally but just starting to get cranky... Lollyheart sorry to hear your sweep didn't go to plan. What's everyone else trying/tried to get things moving? (hmm)

jan2011 · 18/09/2011 18:25

hey
i guess a lot of us here are off tending to their new babies now its hard to believe! i hope things start moving for you soon henious i can't imagine going overdue i would be getting so fed up. i am due on sunday and having a sweep during the week. i am finding myself more emotional than usual, very sensitive, easily tired out, but also get bursts of energy and very excited. how is everyone else feeling? just want things to happen, i am trying red raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil, walking at times, birthing ball at least once a day. i don't think any of it is working though as baby still feels high up! good luck x

Heinoushierachy · 19/09/2011 08:46

Hey jan2011 am definitely with you on the feeling sensitive, more emotional, and tired. Have been so chilled out about going over, but (like many) was sure it was going to be early. Am now at the stage where I'm getting fed up of well intended comments, feling like I can't go too far and let alone the missed calls checking to see if it's happened! Have suddenly changed into a real grumpy cow/recluse... Have been drinking buckets of raspberry leaf tea, walking as much as possible, clary sage in bath, squats, cleaning the kitchen floor, sex, my partner did a spot of acupressure on my ankles, but HAVEN'T tried the evening primrose so will give that a go! I know it's only a few days overdue but after a really long and staggered hospital birth with my first I'm really hoping for a homebirth and therefore for things to start naturally. Sorry rant over - how's everyone else doing? x

jan2011 · 19/09/2011 09:36

aw im sorry you are feeling so fed up! its hard when you feel you are going to be early and then there are no signs of anything. its the whole unpredictability of it all that gets me, u just don't know, im the type of person who plans everything and likes my routine, but babies defy all that and it can be unsettling. and yeah people can upset you at this time more than they know...t hey don't do anything wrong but they don't realise how sensitive you are. my hubby and me still argue cos i want him around a bit more than usual, its not like i don't want him to have a social life and i know he needs to see his friends but i wish he understood us women need support at this time! ooh i love essential oil baths thats what cheers me up! i like clary sage and lavender baths, actually putting a bit of lavender on my pillow is the only thing thats helped me sleep.come on babies! keep hanging in there xx

Valiant1 · 19/09/2011 09:39

Heinoushierachy. i just spat my coffee on the computer lol i read "Kitchen floor sex"!!!! :)might try that one ;) I going steam my house clean xx

OP posts:
Heinoushierachy · 19/09/2011 13:33

Valiant cackle cackle - chance would be a fine thing - sod steaming your house! If my partner wasn't so freaked out by 'tidy' turned 'it's going for my throat' bump and hormonal behaviour I would be well up for that. jan2011 had a similar spat at the w/e with my partner- . My son was invited around for a play at a friends, I thought this could be a good opp to do something just the two of us - however DH just wanted to bugger off on his own :( therefore argument commenced and consequently I'm controlling. Grrrrr, anyway off to pop those evening primrose oil tablets now :) Hang on in there! x

cherryjellybelly · 19/09/2011 19:18

Hey ladies! mind if I join in and wait with you all? I'm 40+4 and feeling ready to pop! Just need to get this baby out as I think my back can take anymore and I've had enough of weeks of BH already!
Good luck for thursday valiant!!

Valiant1 · 19/09/2011 21:51
