crazy alien yes growth scans aren't the norm. I also got one because my bump measured small at a midwife appointment.
lolajane our babies sound a similar weight then if your 4oz a week gain is accurate. Are you having CTG's or anything?

PrincessScrumpy · 27/08/2011 22:11

I was told that my babies weighed 5lb 7oz and 4lb 14oz at 35w. There's no graph for twins so on the standard weight guide they were average and just below but within the norm. Don't understand why I'm being told these are really good weights when your mws are worried! Confused

lolajane2009 · 27/08/2011 22:28

They are great weights for twins tbh. My mw isnt really worried though as i am small and slight, 5ft 2 and only 9 and a half stone pre preg.

CrazyAlien06 · 28/08/2011 09:21

My friend had twins on Monday 4lb8 and 5lb 8. One boy and one girl- both delivered vaginally at 38 weeks. Babies and mum stayed in a few days but all home and doing well now. Well apart from no sleep due to them not feeding at the same time lol.

I'm going to ask at 36 wk scan if they can approx how heavy baby is. Mw last week said that she reckons an 8lber just from looking at my bump and my height. She made me laugh as when I lifted up my top for measurements etc she said "aww what a lovely bump, it looks like it's just been stuck on the front of you " lol . I'm waiting for the bump to spread to the rest of my body but at the mo I don't look pregnant at all apart from beach ball out front lol.
Fingers crossed I get back in shape quickly after!

Valiant1 · 28/08/2011 10:30

I think they worried about baby as my other three were all big babys dd was born at 37 weeks at 7lb 1 ds1 was 8lb3 and ds2 was 7lb13 so this baby small in comparison. Any ways is everyone ready? i am she is still breech so am hoping she turns before Thursday other wise they will be doing that turny thing as well am not looking forward to my kids going back school i will be sooooo bored they kept me busy this last 6 weeks. still got to do boys shoes will do them Thursday i think after the hospital. dsd still got to go shopping for uni and then it will be even quieter when they go back school. going my sisters for dinner today my mum and step dad announced they getting a divorce on face book last night so this should be fun.they only been married since December Have a lovely Bank holiday xxxx

We finally ordered the pushchair after making a decision so can pick it up next week (dh will get it after the babies are born).

I too look like somebody put a beachball on my front and apart from swollen ankles haven't got other signs from behind. People get rather shocked when I turn round! lol. I overheard a man in Comet commenting on my bump earlier today to his partner but I couldn't be bothered to tell them it's twins as I wasn't supposed to hear. On the same short shopping trip I bumped into a colleague and her dh. She's lovely but he, upon hearing I have dd1 and am expecting dd2 &3 said "Oh that's a real shame isn't it, missing out on having any boys!" (said with a serious voice so not joking). I made light of it and said "Oh I don't really understand boy bits and how to clean them so very happy to stick to girls." He continued to tell me how difficult girls are... Errrm, he has 2 boys who are now teens so how would he know!? I smiled politely and got on with looking at TVs, my dh was most pissed off and completely ignored the guy. I know it's not uncommon but I never fail to be amazed at people's idiocy. The man's wife seemed rather embarrassed!

Oh valiant what a bizarre way to announce a divorce. Hope all is okay. Was it a shock?

Valiant1 · 28/08/2011 19:29

yes Princess it was a shock. it was a shock they were getting married tbh as they had only known each other a few weeks. she was ok today really happy and relaxed so must be what she wanted x my sister gave me some baby grows today that are really small, up to 7lb am hoping i don't have to use them. which pram have you had princess? we had the Mamas and Papas MPX tis very posh my last one was a double Maclaren XP wish i could find a cheep single one as i loved it xx

Wow have been feeling crappy today. Does any one else have a baby that just does not stop rolling and kicking? The hospitle have said there is no prob he is just active as people were worrying me saying too much movement could be distress but it is not that. It really hurts as I havn't grown much since 32 weeks and am now 36, will find out at scan on Thurs how big he has got but keep expecting my stomach to be black and blue. It makes me throw up a lot. which I think is contributing to the pounding headache I have had for last 3 days. Sorry moan over! Hope the rest of you are doing ok - really not long now Shock. Valiant at least your mum is happy better than a bad marrage going on for years, Princess that must really pee you off with people thinking you are missing out having girls. My friend has a 3yr old girl and 12 month old twin girls and loves how they are getting to the point of playing together, older one gives babies make overs and fashion shows plus they all love watching footie with their dad.

PrincessScrumpy · 28/08/2011 22:58

Glad your mum's happy.

We had an iCandy cherry for dd1 and loved it. The double we're getting is the Out and About Nipper 360. Lovely to push and fits our doors - shame it's not parent facing but you can't have everything when it comes to doubles.

lolajane2009 · 28/08/2011 23:17

anyone else feel like this still isnt quite real. nineteen days to due date and still got some stuff to do in house.

CrazyAlien06 · 29/08/2011 07:00

Me Lola!!
Hasn't registered yet that I will have a baby! house is no where near ready, everytime I wake up I suddenly remember then panic!I'm so scared as we have no family nearby or friends with children yet so am worried I'm going to be stuck at home allll day everyday :(

DH had his last all day drinking session last night and was supposed to sleep on air bed downstairs but nope he sneaked upstairs! So moi was stuck with it . My dog was the cutest though as her bed had to be moved out to make room (small cottage!) and so she slept on the sofa right opposite me all night :0) am rather shattered as had broken 6 hrs sleep . I can't wait to have baby and then book myself just one night in hotel to sleep all the way through with DH looking after it! I haven't slept properly since about 3 months and the getting up in the night hasn't started yet!:S 35+1 today!

Valiant1 · 29/08/2011 09:10

Princess we had the out and about before the Maclaren but found that as my dd was bigger by a year than ds i wasn't easy to push. you should be ok though as the twins will be nearly the same wieght :)
Have been up since 5 with indigestion and feeling like i done ten rounds with Mick Tyson lol
am going B&Q today to tidy the house up a bit :)

lola definitely doesn't feel real that on Friday I'll have 2 babies. I'm not sure at what point it'll sink in that we're having twins. Perhaps once they're here! Actually I feel more bonded to these babies than I did with dd1 while she was inside. They react to noise and poking etc and I can tell which is which. We have everything and the bags are packed.

dh was so good yesterday (it was out wedding anniversary) but today he's driven to work (an hour away) with dd1's car seat in his car! He is on his way home and has permission to work from home today as it's too much money for him to then drive back again! I was going to take dd to a dance school that has an open day with demos and a bouncy castle etc. It is walking distance (ish) if I wasn't pregnant!

dd decided to sleep in our bed for a second time in a week last night - she must know things are about to change as she never does this. dh slept in her bed in the end as she was so wriggly.

Is anyone else worried that having a baby will change their current children's personalities? I got all emotional last night feeling guilty that dd won't be the centre of our world anymore. I know it's silly as I have a brother and we survived.

CrazyAlien06 · 29/08/2011 11:06

Not for me princess scrumpy as it's my first :) my concern is how the dog is going to react lol. She is a loveable, lazy dog but is use to being centre of attention!

paternal · 29/08/2011 19:19

Hey guys, well it turned out we was actually an Aug baby as he came at 16.41 on Sunday. Baby Oliver is now back at home. :) he and mum are both doing well.

lolajane2009 · 29/08/2011 20:27

Congrats, our first one. My baby will also be our first and if we leave it too long, hubby is 40, might well be an only child.

CrazyAlien06 · 29/08/2011 20:49

Congrats paternal :)

ssmile · 30/08/2011 14:14

Congrats paternal. I've started a postnatal club thread for Sept EDD babies as I was the first to deliver off the other Sept due thread. We had our 2nd DD Poppy on Fri 8lb.14oz by c-sec.
Anyone else who wants to come join me for a chat on the otherside vwelcome as its tad lonely at the moment :) gd luck hope to see you soon. Xx

candr · 30/08/2011 14:26

Congrats paternal and ssmile - soooo exciting Grin. Will Princess be next???Wink

summerpixie · 30/08/2011 20:37

Congratulations Paternal & Ssmile. I went for a consultants appointment today and had a sweep. Really wasn't painful at all, a little bit uncomfortable but bearable. I've had a show and have now got period-type pains. Hoping the contractions start soon as I'd rather not go for more appointments with MW for more sweeps. If the consecutive sweeps don't work I will be going in for an induction at 40 weeks.

DS is being a PITA right now. We tried to convince him to stay at my parents house but he refused as he is adament that the baby will be arriving on Wednesday and that is the day he will sleep over Hmm He is taking his time to get into bed now and DH is getting annoyed! However, DS is quite accepting of the fact he will be a big brother.
Roll on contractions! Hope everyone has had a good bank holiday and time to sort the house out (mine still isn't worted but I'm convinced it'll all be fine!) X

Valiant1 · 30/08/2011 20:43

ooooh another baby xxx my ds2 was born 36 hours after my sweep xx good luck xxxx
