hey bumplus and elliotsmummy hope you are both doing well! i am finding pregnancy quite good bumplus although been quite emotional and very tired at times, but i love being pregnant. but now i am looking to get the baby out! hubby and i argued a lot last night and i cried a lot, and through the night had stronger BH i hope it didn't stress the baby out. i saw round the maternity ward today and it made me all excited. 3 weeks to go for us, have you both everything ready yet? i work and study both part time, i finished work at the weekend so have time to potter around getting the house ready now.

Meconium (sp) plus needed some oxygen Sad. He was a bit shell shocked at coming out so quickly. Waters only went whilst I was pushing and mw didn't even examine me. Mind you I was screaming saying politely he's coming now!

Hi, we came home last night.

Heidi Matilda - 5lb 15oz and Kitty Alice - 4lb 6oz were born on Tuesday 30 August at 5.19 and 5.22am. Heidi had problems breathing at first and went straight to SCBU, Kitty stayed with me for first feed but went to SCBU straight after due to her size. Both had some tube and cup feeds but finally got them feeding properly and had them on the ward for 2 more nights before being allowed home.

Mostly it was a good experience appart from one evil midwife. SCBU nurses were lovely.

Just had a mw visit and been scolded for giving them dummies - SCBU actually did this and as a result I have 2 calm babies rather than the screaming terror dd1 was at first so don't really care what she thinks. I'll get rid of them before it affects their speech and they're breast feeding well so I don't get the problem.

CS was fine and I was up after 6 hours as I had to be able to walk to get in a wheel chair to see Heidi in SCBU - I only got a glimpse in theatre.

candr · 08/09/2011 11:33

Yeah! Princess - congratulations, so good to hear you are all home safely. Have fun with your new family , lovely names BTW Smile How ya doing Val? I am still only getting cramps in evening really so think it may be a while yet.

ssmile · 08/09/2011 11:42

Big congrats princess lovely names hope u enjoy ur little girls and older DD is also ok. x

When your ready do come join the postnatal thread for Sept EDD babies we slowly gathering in nos :)

lolajane2009 · 08/09/2011 13:18

My midwife was the opposite... my son had two disturbed nights and in the end we did a mercy mission at 3am to asda to get a dummy. He only has it at night but it helps my sanity tbh. I've decided to do what is best for him tbh... sod societies' views.

jammydoger · 08/09/2011 13:42

Hi ladies, I've been a lurker on this thread for several months. I've enjoyed keeping up with all the joys and woes so far.

Amelie Rose was born on the 2nd (6lbs 6).

After having irregular contractions for 3 days, (MIL's curry set me off) my waters finally trickled at 3 am on Friday morning. Called the birthing unit to be told that they were full and to wait a few hours and to call back. I then called the labour ward later to say we were on our way, contractions were now about every 3 minutes or so. We drove across to UCL Euston at 5.30 am, scared a few "white van men" at each traffic light Blush (I was screaming with every contraction) Arrived only to be told the labour suite was full too and I'd have to wait...

Midwife gave me a VE and was shocked to find I was 10cm even though I'd been saying I needed to push Angry! She had to eventually be pulled out by forceps at 10.26 after getting a little stuck. Apart from feeling like I've been kicked by a horse in the fanjo, all in all the most amazing experience ever. Grin

Good luck ladies, not long now.

BumpPlus2 · 08/09/2011 14:12

Hi and Congrats to Princess and LoveBeing... and the rest of the September births so far! How exciting it's all getting on here! Hope you and the newbies are all doing well and you are getting some rest Smile
jan2011 hope all ok with DH now - I think the last month is the most stessful - especially if you have a DH like mine who is STILL decorating my boys room for them to move in together meaning at 37+4 I still have no nursery ready at all and all my baby bits in the loft!! Arghhhhh! The deadline is this w/e though so everything should be more restful from then on!!
Bet it was great to see the ward etc! I had both my DS's at home and plan the same again so we shall see how that all goes!
Elliott'sMummy hope you are well too - did your DS settle ok to nursery (?pre school?) Did you manage a break??
Good Luck to all xx
