scan says it's a boy. Help!!

my 20-wk scan revealed it's a boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the mother of four DDs I am absolutely petrified. I thought it was only possible for me to have girls and I think I am in shock. I have so many questions (mostly stupid) about boys and a lot pf preconceived ideas (possibly also mostly stupid) about boys and their behaviour. Worrying me mostly today is: when changing a boy where does the nappy cream go - does it go on the little willy and balls or not?

AND

do boys really love their mums more than girls (hope so as all my DDs are hopelessly daddy's girls)

AND

do all DSs run around the playground hitting their friends and not reading books and doing their homework and generally being immature?

OMG I need help ladies. Mums of DSs, please tell me how lovely they are and that I will be okay (and where to put the bloody cream !)

I totally and utterly love having boys. I am much more or a boys' mam. If I ever had a third, I would secretly wish for another boy!

Your girls will love him too

and dotn put cream on the willy

i have three boys. it is rather like i imagine having greyhounds to be. they have a huge amount of energy and i find the best way to cope is take them out for a long run in the morning to burn it off so they can be a little calmer the rest of the day!

they love anything to do with fighting, i was determined they would never watch power rangers or have a ninja turtle in the house but we are full to the roof with them. give in now, its easier!

they are all very cuddly and lovely, eldest is 6 and he loves coming and sitting with me to read a book and none of them can ever have enough kisses (even in front of their friends! tho im not expecting that to last).

nappy cream goes all over cos it all gets damp

one thing i woud advise is make the most of nice clothes while he is tiny, after the age of two its all horrid!

Congratulations on the boy, my mum has 5 boys and 2 girls and it is really true about boys loving there mummies and I have just had a little boy so I'm looking forward to him turning into a real mummies boy

Awwww you will be absolutly fine honestly.

When i got pregnant for the 3rd time after having 2 girls, I was convinced I would not like having a boy at all, i mean what the hell did I know about boys.

I asked the sex at my 20 week scan and like you was told I was having a boy. It definatly helped me knowing in advance, because it meant I had plenty of time to get used to the idea.
I found shopping for blue stuff helped alot LOL.

We picked a name early on, so by the time I had him, I felt like I already knew him.

From the minute he was born, I loved him so much. He is now and always will be my baby (despite being 3 today), and i think I will always have a closer bond with him than my dd's (although i love them to bits too obvioulsy)

Can't really tell you about the running around the playground hitting people etc, as we haven't crossed that bridge yet, but ikwym, cos I look at some boys and think 'my god, I hope Harry is nothing like that'.

He'll be your special little man, forever, honestly.

Oh and i always but a bit of cream all over

Congratulations. Very pleased for you. Boys are great, I've got two.

I know how you feel. The thought of changing a girl's nappy terrifies me - far too many nooks and crannies.

The cream can go everywhere except the willy.

As for the rest, maybe, maybe not. He'll be his own little person, just like all your dds I shouls imagine.

aww boys are lovely ,delicious little darlings....sometimes.

congratulations,wow a boy after all those girls,what alucky little boy he'll be.

My son is much more affectionate than my daughter,don't know if that is gender or just him.

What I have noted is that boys are much slower in the attention span department,thus making their playing and behaviour different to most girls.It takes a bit to get used to after girls.I miss playing girly things as mu ds is solely into trains at the moment.

You may find your ds isn't a typical boy and enjoys so called female toys ie dolls etc, it isn't written in stone.

My son is affectionate to both dh and I but he's not a mummys boy,more inclined to his dad actually,because he likes playing the same things and has more patience than me

Awww congratulations - I was worried about having ds after only one girl and no experience of boys being one of 2 girls myself. Can safely say that you will just click right in and love it.
Oh and I'm currently smearing the nappy cream all over the shop - no idea whether this is right or not though!

I put cream all over too
The main difference is that girls wee down and boys wee UP so watch when you bend over to change

Don't know, just read it somewhere and so have never put cream there. Usually ends up all over the place anyway

DS?s are fab, as are dds. I have 2 Dss, both loving and bright and very different from each other and my DD.
All children are different, boy or girl, blonde or brunette, tall or short.
I didn't use nappy cream at all.

I had my scan today and....

baby had its legs crossed with the cord between them and the sonographer couldn't tell

am very pleased and rather love this baby now

I am sure your boy will be spoilt rotten with four older sisters and he'll certainly be in touch with his feminine side which is an excellent thing IMO

I have two girls and a boy. You'll be fine, they're all gorgeous.

Just put cream where it looks sore but perhaps not right at the end of his willy in case it gets gunked up. I was in hospital with a woman who'd had a girl after two boys and she was unsure because she'd only been used to boys. She was ok but said (as I found) that cleaning a girl is a slighty more tricky business, so you might find it easier in fact.

He'll be adored by two big sisters I can tell you thatAnd boys always seem to want to know how things work and they climb and build a lot(well, mine does) He's also super cuddly and loves his mummy although I wouldn't say more or less so than the girls. Congratulations!
