Chavvy prams?

Hiya ... don't mean to upset anyone, but I'm going shopping for a pram soon and wondered if there are any brands out there that are considered 'chavvy' as I'd rather not buy one of those ...

Newmummy - the only real schoolgirl error (which everyone makes) is buying a pram which takes up all of their boot, so come Christmas / weekends away they can either take the pram or their luggage Smile

I love my Maclaren XT. I also have a Bugaboo Cameleon which was a gift, but it doesn't often come out with us for the reasons mentioned above...

buttonmoon78 · 21/05/2011 09:51

I don't think they're 'bad' prams either, my sister's is lovely to push (same sister as the flat caps!). Was funny when I went to Lyme Park nr Manchester ALL the buggies were Bugaboos of one description or other, was hilarious!

But they're still damn ugly.

JimmyChoo17 · 21/05/2011 10:00

On shameless they had a pram on there that was really popular from mother care. My friend who had bought it...was mortified! But it suddenly got very popular amongst the "hooded yoofs"

I bought a black pram so can use it again should I choose to put myself thru this again! So I am off to pimp my quinny (fanny) pram. Set of alloys, whale tail and some of those fab neon lights ha ha!

buttonmoon78 · 21/05/2011 10:08

Oh I know the ones you mean Jimmy! The neon blue ones that light up the road underneath! Do it do it do it!

sungirltan · 21/05/2011 19:12

just googled the teutonia - the proper prams they do are nice and have dent sized shopping baskets - they dont look in the least chav?

seaweedhead · 21/05/2011 19:20

To avoid chav just go for something practical in a gender neutral colour and avoid too much bling and frills. It should be about whether it meets your requirements and ease of use rather than what it looks like IMO.

ilovesprouts · 21/05/2011 20:26

dont think its chavvy at all ... not to my taste tho

Borisneedsahaircut · 21/05/2011 20:58

Thankyou ilovesprouts! The world of prams is mind blowing even on your second!
I don't really understand pram snobbery and I dont understand how someone can spend £800 on a pram when there are other lovely looking ones that do the job and probably last longer.

RedCloud · 21/05/2011 21:38

LOL Pag. Spot on....

Beesok · 21/05/2011 21:58

Sungirl I have heard very good opinions about the Teutonia in terms of quality - they look nice, not my favourite in terms of design BUT I am putting the comfort of the baby first :)
Will be checking them out in a few weeks in a store so will post an update!

sidorek · 21/05/2011 22:31

did you find a shop in London? where? the nearest which I know of is in cantenbury... would love to go and check them. i love the teutonia lambda

Beesok · 21/05/2011 23:19

I saw a mum with a pink and black buggy at Legoland last weekend and it had "Pornstar" written on it in silver and diamontes! Not sure if it's chavvy of just plain inappropriate!

silverangel · 27/05/2011 21:04

I saw a pink buggy the other day with the playboy logo all over it - urghhh!

aethelfleda · 27/05/2011 21:16

Get anything you like hon.

If you want a vanilla but perfectly good buggy, get a Maclaren Techno. Single buggy, goes flat so can use from birth, folds up small, lasts for 5 years+ so will do at least two kids. Costs a bit more than a cheap tesco/mothercare stroller, but REALLY lasts well.

Honest opinions on the twin names Penelope (nel) and Eleanor (Ella)
Maybe Frances-grace.

Ps not sure on gender yet I just have a mams instinct 😂

peachesarenom · 26/07/2018 20:44

My husband wants a silver cross but after reading this I'm really tempted by the argos one Pictish it says it is suitable from birth but I don't see how as it doesn't seem to lue flat? Any ideas?

ilovesprouts · 07/08/2018 18:21

The prams with the fur and bows attached to them are awful 🤔
