is anyone else feeling a little left out by the first-timers due in December thread? This will be my second DC (DS will be 3.5). I think I'm due on 15th December.

well i wish i didn't fancy eating anything because the scales jumped up about 3 lbs yesterday. not a real surprise since I seem to be eating about two extra meals a day. i'm hungry every two to three hours, it's madness!

harassedinherpants · 26/05/2011 10:11

goodnight I'm the same!! The only way I'm keeping the sickness at bay and manageable at work, is by constant eating.

aethelfleda yup, that about sums it up "Another day of general yerch and tiredness"!!!!

I hate moaning about my symptoms after two very recent mc's, but it's soooo hard when you can't tell anyone yet.

I apologise if I'm not around much, but we're moving and it's chaos. And I'm fed up with it already!!!!

sevendwarves · 26/05/2011 22:36

goodnight and harassed I'm very jealous of your eating ability. I'm somewhat hungry but fancy absolutely nothing. I've eaten more today than the last few days but only because I've had a pain au chocolat and a doughnut Blush . The advantage is that I've still only put on 2lbs somehow despite looking 5 months pregnant.

I finally got my scan date today, it's booked for next Wednesday so not long to wait.

The other thread I'm on in antenatal has had a surprisingly high number of MMC's. Having never suffered a MC I think it's very easy to assume that everything will be ok. It's made me quite worried, it wasn't something I even thought about with DS.

harassedinherpants · 27/05/2011 09:57

Fingers x'd for the scan seven.

I'd never ever worried about mc/mmc until I had mine this year, and now I can't get it out of my head Sad. I'd really love to be able to enjoy this prg as it's my last, but it's just so stressful and worrying.

Tell me, am I nuts or do you think I can feel tiny fluttering movements?? I'm 9+4 and this is dc4..... I thought it was wind, but I don't think it is now.

sevendwarves · 27/05/2011 12:15

Possibly, I'm now 11+5 and thought I felt some tiny fluttering a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure now though as I've felt nothing since.

Hi all

Apologies for the radio silence recently.

Hope everyone is doing OK. I was OK until yesterday, when I found a very small amount of blood on wiping after going to the toilet.

I spoke to NHS Direct and then to a nurse on the Out of Hours GP line, who advised me to watch and wait - I haven't had any more blood or any pain at all apart from the usual twinges as it all adjusts. But I'm finding it all so stressful at the moment. I've got the booking in appointment with the midwife on Wednesday so hopefully she can reassure me a bit. I just want to get to the point when I see a healthy baby on a screen, the waiting is doing my head in.

I also told my boss this week, it was a HUGE bombshell for him because there are 3 other pregnant women in our department, and with me being the same it means 20% of the team is pregnant! He's not an easy person to deal with but I'm glad I told him, he's been great since.

harrassed and goodnight I'm constantly grazing at work too - I go in which a load of tupperware boxes of fruit, I've got ginger biscuits in my drawer, I also get those Graze boxes so I snack on those - and there's the occasional bar of chocolate as well. No wonder I've 'grown out' of my size 10 trousers!

eve34 · 27/05/2011 17:25

Agelene - size ten, I can only dream. I last 2 and half stone whilst TTC really need to loose 4 stone so still over weight, was trying to stick to WW in the esrly days but like the others eating is the only thing that stops me feeling sick.

It is a worry, so many people struggle to concieve and get through to a healthy baby. We can just make sure we do what we can, eat lots, rest and look after ourselves.

Fingers crossed for all those very small bumps :-)

aethelfleda · 27/05/2011 21:07

harrassed and seven, I had some odd fluttering stuff too! There's no way our jelly babies are touching the sides yet, I think it's more likely to be wombs a-stretching! Though it was freakily like the early "kicks" I got with DD1 and DD2.

Angeline -really hope you're Ok! If it was just a smidge and none since that's a good sign. Fingers crossed it all settles and you get your scan soon.

Size ten? Ahahahahaha!!! (Sorry, I was a size 16 until, ooh about ten minutes after my BFP!!) i'm now in a selection of cheap size 18 jeans from New Look, and stretch leggings. Claaaaaassy.

And now it's half term and i have a week off work. SO glad to get a break!

sevendwarves · 27/05/2011 22:17

Glad you're not all skinny minnies (no offence meant angelene). I'm a very happy size 16, probably because I was a size 20 when pregnant with DS. I've since lost 3 stone and feel so much better with this pregnancy. I'm hoping that'll stop me getting pre-eclampsia again. I've still only put on 2lbs so far despite not having bad morning sickness and eating cake!

Morning all hope everyone is keeping ok. Angeline hope all is well. Another bank holiday weekend, we are off to my dad's tomorrow, DP is off to Germany for work on Monday so a week of peace for me.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend off to get dressed now.

aethelfleda · 28/05/2011 16:51

Afternoon!

I had craaaazy hormone dreams last night inv

aethelfleda · 28/05/2011 16:56

Weird dream Involving losing someone elses toddler, then letting my children run riot in a limo, then having my stepsister-in-law tell me how glad she was not to have children...... Hormones a go go!

And all I've achieved today is taken the kids out for lunch and a trip round the supermarket (where I lobbed stuff in the trolley at random due to feeling nauseous and not wanting any of it).

Major wibble by the cheese section when I wanted at least 3 yummy cheeses that are "non-suitable"- I eat all sorts of stuff thats a bit borderline, but am reluctantly saying no to blue cheese and runny brie...

goodnightmoon · 28/05/2011 23:03

Angelene - I hope it's nothing and hopefully you'll get some reassurance Wednesday. well done for telling work. I will put it off as long as I can, I think. We also seem to have loads of women on maternity or due to go, I've been covering for someone since January and if all goes well she'll cover for me!

Aethelfleda - gotta love the crazy hormone/anxiety dreams. I've had some too - one recently of hiding under a bed as a man hunted me down in a house - i was watching from under the bed at his feet and listening to him breathe as he walked around - it was terrifying until I woke up and the breathing was my toddler snoring a room away! (he can be very loud.)

LaWeasel · 29/05/2011 11:00

Hi everyone,

been awol for ages waiting for me booking in appointment, everything seems fine and I really liked the MW so I am getting booked in for a homebirth!

Only problem is my BMI is only coming up as 18.5 and I am not allowed to loose any weight at all so have spent ages calorie counting our meal plans to get in as many extra calories as possible. IT's really frustrating because I have such a hard time gaining weight.

I am also still having horrible dreams. I dreamt that DH was dead in bed next to me last night which I remember doing last time and is extremely unpleasant.

LaWeasel · 29/05/2011 11:17

Oh, also I meant to say I found out I do get a dating scan YAY, it just wasn't listed because for unknown reasons they offer a Nuchal Fold as the first option. Because I don't want one I can have a dating scan instead.

aethelfleda · 29/05/2011 18:14

Hi laweasel. Weirdy dreams all over, then!

It's a bit weird about the losing weight being an issue- surely that wouldn't stop you having a home birth, would it? It's being overweight that raises peoples' birth risks (BP, preeclampsia, birth complications)... Unless you are actually malnourished (Which doesnt sound likely). Are you one of those people who eats like a horse and never puts weight on? (envious!)
Good luck with adding calories in, I hope you're not too nauseous and can add extra snacks, or put butter/cream in all your cooking.

sevendwarves · 29/05/2011 18:27

Hi everyone, back from the hen weekend and I'm now so tired I feel awful. Thankfully DS was quite tired so I've given him an early night and treating myself to laying on the sofa with a duvet while DH is at work.

I'm very fortunate that I don't often remember my dreams, I've had a few odd ones but nothing like the ones some of you have been having. laweasel yours sounds awful and must have been very upsetting.

OP posts:
LaWeasel · 29/05/2011 18:49

aethelfleda I'm not sure either. I suppose it probably increases the risk of a low weight baby which can cause birth problems.

But OTOH, I weighed about the same - a few pounds more I think, before I had DD, had a MW who refused point blank to weigh me (I'm not sure why!) lost a bit of weight at the start and then put on a good few stone and had a 7lb10oz baby so I'm pretty confident everything will be fine regardless, just really need to stay in line with the rules to make sure I don't get shipped off to hospital.

LaWeasel · 29/05/2011 18:51

Hope you feel better later sevendwarves yes, the dreams are rubbish. I need to tone down my TV watching choices I think. I've been watching a lot of True Blood and I think it's getting converted straight into dream fodder!

goodnightmoon · 31/05/2011 15:50

just popping by to say i had a very uneventful booking-in appointment today. i've been referred to a consultant based on my age and miscarriage history but that appointment won't be until July. In the meantime, I am praying things are still on track. My tummy that had felt so bloated seems flattish again - but it all seems to change day to day!

sevendwarves · 31/05/2011 17:53

I've got my scan tomorrow, both excited and nervous. We're stopping at Tesco on the way home to get ingredients for a posh meal tomorrow night if it's good news to celebrate. Obviously if it's not good we won't feel like eating anyway.

OP posts:
aethelfleda · 31/05/2011 19:15

Good luck for tomorrow seven!

I got bored of waiting for my Scan appointment date so I rang up the hospital ultrasound department apologetically to check when it was- good job I did as they'd never heard of me!!!! Some muttering about "misplaced paperwork" when I rang the docs.....fortunately the GP on call was nice and faxed them a new referral, so i've got 2 weeks to wait. Unfortunately its the day DH is away on business (unavoidable) so have to get the kids stowed with a friend and go by myself Sad as I wouldnt want them there if it was bad news.

One week to booking appt and two weeks to scan (and hopefully 4 weeks to less morning sickness!!!) it's all coming on...

angelene · 01/06/2011 11:21

Good luck seven, hope you get your celebratory meal Smile

aethelfleda - what a complete palaver, hope you sort out the childcare issues. What a pain that DH can't come with you.

I'm working from home, waiting for the midwife who is coming later.....

LaWeasel · 01/06/2011 11:29

Good luck today seven!

eve34 · 01/06/2011 20:07

Evening all.

Seven hope it went well today and you are enjoying your posh nosh.

Aethefleda - sorry to hear DH can't be there, when I had my one and only scan for DS, DP was meant to be on deployment - I cried all day knowing he couldn't be there, as it got nearer his plans changed and was able to be with me I was so pleased.

Nothing new to report, not feeling as sick so that is good news.

Hope everyone else is ok
