No sign of any baby action. But since this is our first, I guess it's not unusual for the baby to be late. Been for a walk, am thinking curry for dinner and then maybe, you know, nudge-nudge wink-wink...

TotorosOcarina · 09/05/2011 13:43

oh not the heartburn, mine only starts at night really, but its gets me up cause if i lie on my side its really bad but cant lie on my back cause i can't breathe!

this is so so tmi, but my lady bits are really aching today, am only sat here but its throbbingly sore!

4pudding · 09/05/2011 14:24

Can you lie on your side? I find pressing them with a towel seems to push the blood out and relieves it. If that doesn't work perhaps some frozen peas in a tea towel?

jer1983 · 09/05/2011 19:34

Hi all, I'm 40+3 now, went for a swim this morning and a long walk this afternoon. I'm having more pains but not sure if just bh still??! I'm walking like I've sh*t myself as pain just around pubic bone and under. Baby still seems high though with bottom quite far up. Been getting pains when I lean forward and I feel like there's loads of pressure. What do people think?? This is my first and have no one to ask!

Is there any news from milky?

TotorosOcarina · 09/05/2011 19:40

will try that pudding thanks.

Am so sick of having backache, and cramps and tigtenings :(

jer you may be in early labour, you tend to niggle on like that before it really kicks in, believe me you will know if it developes into the real thing :)

hopefully milky is a bit busy with a new baby!

Leilababyno1 · 09/05/2011 19:56

Hey ladies,

Well I had my second sweep- 3cm dilated and apparently 'bulging membranes'....Blush So, MW said she couldn't give me a proper sweep, because if she did she would break my waters. In desperation I said, please just break them and she told me off and said no way! I am desperate now, 40+10 tomorrow!

On the plus side, she said that technically my body is very ready for labour and on the verge- so come on baby!! Guess, I will just have to hope that the LO decides she is ready to make an appearance before Thursday- fingers crossed...

Hope everyone else is doing ok...

StiffyByng · 09/05/2011 20:02

That sounds very promising, Leila!

jer1983 · 09/05/2011 20:10

Leila that sounds great and very positive.

I've got in bath and pains have subsided a bit so am thinking it's just tiredness and exercise!! Have first sweep on thurs, hope mw gives me good news like you leila. Am not looking forward to lots more nights laying in achy hips with 200 pillows! Not to mention piles, wee trips etc etc etc......!!!

bringmesunshine2009 · 09/05/2011 20:47

Leila sounds all systems go! Fingers crossed for all. I feel very very moody. Can't believe this birth thing is ever going to happen.

Tomorrow I'm going to do pampery things, like pedicure (second pre birth one!) Eyelash tinting and a little shopping DS1 is at nursery in the afternoon. Sweep on Weds, DS1 football in PM, hoping for labour around then?!!?

My prediction is that MB is in labour (hope so for her!) and TO is next.

Baby is really quiet now. Was banging around all afternoon. Buthas gone to sleep and is now freaking me out. Grrr.
xx
Ps Got dreaded piles as of yesterday. Escaped them last time. If baby had been out on time then maybe I woulda been lucky second time round! Like last time when I got stretchmarks at 40+1 last time lol.

funnylittlekaty · 09/05/2011 22:00

Going for my induction in the morning. Feeling v apprehensive about it to be honest. Just not sure what they'll do. Pessary first then drip, or straight on to the drip? Think I could be sitting round on my arse for hours hooked up to machines and not able to get in any comfy positions for labour. I know I should just relax and go with the flow. Argh...feels like the night before exam results. This time tomorrow my life could be changed forever. Or I could be bored out of my tiny mind in a hospital room! Will keep you posted. Good luck to you all, thinking of you xxxx

Milkybrew · 09/05/2011 23:01

Ladies! The whole birth thing does happen! Just got home from the hospital with my 9lb 5oz bundle! Just quickly, started contracting at 1am, managed at home until 8am, went in to be checked to find I was only 2cm dilated but as I was contracting every 3 mins was allowed to stay! At 2pm was dilated enough to get into the pool and my little girl was born at 15.48! Tired, achey and sore boobs as all she wants is food, but so happy! DS is in awe of her! Your babies will all be here soon! Good luck funnylittlekaty at your induction!

ilovesprouts · 09/05/2011 23:04

Milkybrew ,congrats

4pudding · 09/05/2011 23:24

Congrats MB!

Great news, so glad you're both ok.

Bit of hope for us all :-)

TotorosOcarina · 10/05/2011 01:48

wooohoooo milky!!! yey! congrats!!

am having some pains so have come down stairs, i know i should sleep but i can't.

yey for a new tiny baby, so pleased for you!!

funnylittlekaty · 10/05/2011 04:46

TO are you still there? I'm up too. Pains about every ten minutes. Phoned the birth centre but I've missed the boat. At least I've got going. It occurs to me now that labour might be really painful! Good luck xx

TotorosOcarina · 10/05/2011 08:48

hope it was the real thing for you funny.

am still here :(

bringmesunshine2009 · 10/05/2011 09:23

Congrats Milky!! My first prediction was right, but TO, you are still here and seemingly overtaken by FLK! FLK, good luck, hope you are having a fabbo birth.

You will be next I know it! Yay! No pains or anything else here. 41+1.

I would love to experience a spontaneous labour but it seems that is SO not gonna happen. Here's hoping for tomorrow's sweep.

So who is left, come on, fess up!

Due Date, Current length of pg and induction date?

Me: 2 May, 41+1, 13 May

TotorosOcarina · 10/05/2011 09:51

had alot of show this morning,

can't decide whether to just stay in or have a walk

argylesocks · 10/05/2011 10:02

(jumping in) My waters broke last night, went in and got checked out and sent home. Now I'm waiting for contractions to begin or face induction Thursday morning!

I credit walking (waddling) about 2 miles uphill yesterday to return something at B&Q. I must have looked ridiculous and I was exhausted when I got back but I'm convinced it worked!

StiffyByng · 10/05/2011 10:15

Hurray for MilkyBrew and fingers crossed with FLK. Come on, TO! And good stuff, Argyle.

I'm due 3 May, 41 weeks, induction 17 May. Two sweeps down, not dilated, occasional mild cramps. Hmpf.

Bubandbump · 10/05/2011 10:20

Due 9th May, 40+1 (not as far as some of you ladies but still want it out!), sweep on Friday, occasional cramps that go after about half an hour. No idea if dilated or not as midwife wouldn't check last Friday..

Everyone else here is popping them out early!

TotorosOcarina · 10/05/2011 11:01

am having strong braxton hicks every 10 mins now

wouldnt say was in contractoion teritory quite yet tho

Leilababyno1 · 10/05/2011 11:23

Massive congratulations MilkyBrew!!

I was due 30th April, 10 days overdue, induction booked for Thursday.

Well, still not in proper labour as nothing reglar BUT apparently I am in early labour.... Very heavy bloody show this morning, 3cm dilated and apparently waters about to pop. I am getting irregular crampy tigtenings- enough to make me dilate...but nothing awfully painful so still at home. Really hoping they start to pick up, as this limbo stage is very frustrating.

Good-luck to all you other ladies!

LittleMilla · 10/05/2011 12:06

MilkyBrew big congrats. We're now on day 5 and all is going really well. Had a painful couple of days with engorged boobies - something I wans't prepared for. But he's flipping amazing - sleeping and feeding like a good un and I am scared we're being lulled in to a false sense of security....!

Leila not long for you now. Sorry for deserting you so abruptly last week! Please keep everyone posted.

Totor hang on in there! Not much longer for you hopefully. Thinking of you lots. Keep on walking - it can never do any harm!

xx

4pudding · 10/05/2011 12:29

Whoop! Just had second sweep, cervix looking ready to go- really high Bishop's score. Lots of crampy feelings I didn't get last time. Fingers crossed for next 24 hours- feeling quite excited.

StiffyByng · 10/05/2011 12:46

Good luck, pudding!

And so lovely to hear that, Milla. How are you feeling about that wedding now?
