No sign of any baby action. But since this is our first, I guess it's not unusual for the baby to be late. Been for a walk, am thinking curry for dinner and then maybe, you know, nudge-nudge wink-wink...

Ahhh congrats to those of you who've had babies. Milky I'm sure it won't be long now. You've obviously made a lovely snug home. My dd is today but am fed up as 3 weeks ago mw said be ready to go anytime as head is engaged. Wish she hadn't said that as got my hopes up!! Been bouncing, ate pineapples, been for walks, had sex, cleaned, eaten curry and nothing. Just keep having pains like baby is burrowing. Can't sleep as hips are agony and DH is snoring all night!! I want my baby!! ( but am also v v scared as it's my first, is this actually real??!!)

Milkybrew · 07/05/2011 21:40

Hi jer1983, I'm sure you're right-it can't be long! I can smypathise with the aching hips, I lay in bed last night thinking soon she'll be here and my poor hips can have a rest! The burrowing feeling is very strange isn't it?! Last week baby burrowed in so hard that I felt I'd split in two! I think it was her shoulders going in, as midwife said she could barely feel them on Friday. Even though this is my second I still have moments of is this actually happening?! I don't think I'll 100% accept it until I actually see her!

pissedrightoff · 07/05/2011 22:01

Can't be long for you now milkybrew, chin (and feet) up!!!

LittleMilla · 07/05/2011 22:19

Update from us. After the breech diognosis on Wed (at 40+9) we went in on Thursday AM for ELC. All went well and baby Wilfred arrived at 12:22pm weighing in at 8lb 5oz.

jer1983 · 07/05/2011 22:29

Congrats littlemilla, what a lovely name. Well done to you x

Mines been burrowing away for a few days now, surely it must be in my pelvis now??! Sweep on Thursday if nothings happened (if I'm allowed one according to mw), fingers crossed theres lots more babies before then!!

cowboylover · 07/05/2011 22:52

Congratulations Littlemilla and Wilfred!

I gave up grouching on the sofa and came to bed so now watching the twilight saga.

It feels like I have a super tight band around my middle squeezing everything

HipHopOpotomus · 07/05/2011 23:53

Congrats lillemilla My brother is named Wilfred (Fred) - great name!!!!

Come on the rest of you babies :)

4pudding · 08/05/2011 06:07

Hello, I'm 40+2 today sigh. Sweep booked for Tues if nothing has happened. COME ON BABY

Milkybrew · 08/05/2011 06:15

Morning ladies.

4pudding, I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one up at stupid o'clock!

I am 41 weeks today and the dreaded piles have returned. I'm so fed up. I gave up trying to force myself to sleep as I've been doing it for 2 hours and it's just so boring!

Still having a show, still not having any contractions.

Wonder if any of you went into labour and had your baby over night?!

4pudding · 08/05/2011 06:52

Yes! Been awake since just after 5am. DD and DH happily snoring next to me. Just disappointed every time I wake up now that nothing has happened in the night.

DD was early so never expected to get to this point.

And if one more person tells me to eat pineapple or have a hot curry?(!!!!)

jer1983 · 08/05/2011 07:08

No new updates in the night from me! Apart from I dreamt I had the baby in a field by c section which was performed by a herd of sheep...with their teeth. Went well suprisingly! Grin

Milky I feel your pile pain, fruit and cereal I find helps. On another note my sinusitis is now so bad I'm not sure I'll be able to smell the nice smells of my LO let alone the bad ones When it does come. does anyone know if birth is a miraculous cure to regaining your sense of smell?

Had some lovely thunder storms as entertainment in the night :)

bringmesunshine2009 · 08/05/2011 07:11

Hey 4P and MB. Still here too. Yay 41 weeks Grrrr. Why are we still here?!

Congrats Little Millla glad there is an end to this madness!, enjoy your lovely little boy awww.

DH brought home pineapple (neither of us can be BOTHERED to DTD) burning lower back and hips. Labour? No. Just the extreme weight of lying in one position at night.

I remember after DS1 getting out of labour bed, despite pints of blood and remnants of epidural, to stand up and feel my hips were not being squished was WONDERFUL.

Good luck for today ladies. G xx

Milkybrew · 08/05/2011 07:30

Everytime I answer the phone or leave the house its like groundhog day! Everyone says the same thing! "Still not had it then?" No. (obviously!) "Have you tried ... ( insert old wives tale here!)" Yes, hasn't worked yet. (clearly!)

Honestly I don't know what else to try now! Had my heart set on a waterbirth but the nearer I'm getting to induction the more I think it's not going to happen. I know the important thing is the safe arrival of the baby but was induced last time, just wanted a more natural experience this time. Maybe my body just doesn't do spontaneous labour. Ignore me ladies, just tired and fed up and having a whinge!

jellyhead188 · 08/05/2011 09:21

Hi - sorry Milkybrew you're still here, the comments are so frustrating, I hope it happens for you soon.

I just wanted to post an update that my little bundle arrived very swiftly on Wednesday - I've posted the birth story separately.

Hope everyone else is doing well and your bundles arrive quickly and safely.

xxxx

Milkybrew · 08/05/2011 09:31

Congrats jellyhead! Enjoy your little bundle! X

funnylittlekaty · 08/05/2011 09:32

Hi everyone. Have an update for you. Woke up at about half four with very wet knickers and pyjama bottoms. To cut a long story short, was assessed on labour ward and waters have definitely gone but cervix still closed. I've now got til Tuesday at 9am to get myself going so I can have the babba at the birth centre, otherwise it's an induction on labour ward, which was a little bit grim tbh, although the midwife was very nice. Hope you guys all have some action today. I'll keep you posted xx

Milkybrew · 08/05/2011 10:44

Funnylittlekatie-good news, sounds like things are definately underway! Have a good bounce on the birthing ball, maybe that will get you dilating! Keep us posted!

TotorosOcarina · 08/05/2011 15:25

midwife just been, no change to 2 weeks ago. still 2cms

she did a sweep but it was the weakest thing ever, didn't even wince, was like she had a feather, thats not going to get anything going.

Milkybrew · 08/05/2011 15:37

Hi totoros. Sorry that you've not had any change in 2 weeks, it's so disheartening to be told that but you never know the sweep may still be effective! I hope to have a second sweep tomorrow. My show had sort of died down but is back now, I've got pain low down, sort of a painful pressure but no sign of contractions. I hope I've dilated a bit since the last sweep. Was only 1cm!

Leilababyno1 · 08/05/2011 16:53

Hi ladies,

Congratulations LittleMilla! And all the other lucky ones who are cuddling their bundles!!

Well, still no joy here. Second sweep seemed to get things moving on Friday, as I've been having lots of bloody show since it- but no proper contractions, just a dull period type ache which I'm assuming is from the examination. I am 40+8 today so hoping I can have one last final sweep either tomorrow or Tuesday before induction this Thursday.

Good-luck ladies, and keep posting- it's reassuring to know that there are others in the same position- finding it difficult to stay positive....Sad

Milkybrew · 08/05/2011 17:07

Hi leilababy, I'm also finding it difficult to stay positive today. Think it's the realisation that I'm a whole week over, and also the fact that my piles are back! I hate them. There's so much pressure down there though so I'm not surprised. I'm so tired after being up since 4.30am. Sleeping is getting too uncomfortable. I sound like such a moany cow, which is a shame as I've really loved this pregnancy up until this point! I just want to see her now! Even DH who's the eternal optimist is getting fed up with the waiting! All I keep thinking is well this time next week this will all be a distant memory!

Leilababyno1 · 08/05/2011 17:31

I so know how you feel Milkybrew. We have gone almost 10 months, only to get to the last week and be faced with the possible prospect of induction. I am finding it hard to deal with the prospect that my labour 'may' not start naturally...Sad

Hey, ho I know I should just be really thankful that baby is happy and healthy. But it is hard..

funnylittlekaty · 08/05/2011 20:15

Good grief! Still no flaming contractions! What can I do to get this baba out? Really hope to avoid induction and now the waters have well and truly gone I thought I was on the way to meeting my little one. Now I feel like I'm back to same old waiting game. Come on baby! Come on! Any news from you lasses?
